He walked down the empty hallway. The only sound was the echo of his footsteps. He heard crying, her crying. Her voice. He ran to the door it came from. The crying got louder, he slammed on the door. "SYLVIA! OPEN UP! LET ME IN!" but the crying only got louder, more intense. He turned the knob and it fell off. The hole it left somehow filling up to make the door just a slab of steel. "SYLVIA!" Damon called out again to no avail. This time a deep voice accompanied her tears. It was inhuman, unholy in its origin. Damon slammed himself into the door over and over. He punched at it until his knuckles bled. "Please Sylvia just open up!" he took out his gun and shot the door. But the bullets only dented the door. Finally the door swung open. Sylvia stepped out of the darkness, only it wasn't her. Her beautiful skin was now a sickly pale, her hair was now dry and thinning, her once vibrant eyes were now glassy and empty, her lips were not full anymore but chapped and broken. She stumbled over to Damon but fell before she got to him. He caught her and just held her. He moved her hair behind her ear just like he always used to. "Why didn't you let me in? Why didn't you let me save you?" he whispered. A big figure cloaked in shadows entered the doorway now. Damon pulled out his gun again and fired at it, the bullets phased through it. It laughed and after laying Sylvia down, he charged at it with his knife, slashing wildly. It went through the creature. Darkness swallowed everything. Damon woke up in a sweat. He sat up. "I can't fight her demons for her." he said as he ran his fingers through his hair. He made his way to the kitchen already planning out what he wanted to do today before he had to work later. Aaron sat at the table eyeing him.

"Good morning creep." he said to Aaron.
"Good morning superstar." Aaron said as he threw him the newspaper. "You made the paper. That was beyond just 'teaching them a lesson.'"Aaron said.
"I did what was right." Damon said, not wanting to argue.
"Whatever man. Something tells me there's more to what you're letting on, these.....Crusades......you go on." Aaron said both prying and concerned.
"These scum need something to fear, the law isn't doing enough." Damon said filling up his cup with whatever coffee was left.
"Where's Hercules?" he asked trying to change the subject.
"Derek is out walking him." Aaron said taking the bait. "Someone has to."
Just then Derek walked in. Hercules greeted everyone then went to go drink water.
"What's up Damon?" Derek asked. "Heard you made the paper. Good job," he said before he chugged down the rest of his water bottle.
"Not everyone thinks so." Damon said as he shot a glance at Aaron.
"Hey man, you do you. Personally I would cut back. But it's not a bad thing." Derek said.
"Thanks. Now if you gentlemen would excuse me, I have something to do."
Damon excused himself.
