[Mansoon’s POV]
Mana was buzzing in the air around me as I held my stance, my silver rapier in front of me. I paid close attention to how Hammerhead fought as more mana entered my body. From what I saw from Baldr’s jump attack, Hammerhead guarded his upper body by doing wide attacks. Hammerhead is not good at telling what happens in his surroundings as seen with Saaxol’s back attack on Hammerhead but he had good reaction speed after Saaxol’s attack upon him. This giant will be a piece of cake in the end however when my ace in the hole, Typhoon Streak is activated.
I needed as much mana as I could get for Typhoon Streak to work so taking from the surrounding area was a must since I can’t produce enough mana for myself. I call the technique for collecting the mana, the Colligere Stance. All I need to do is put both of my hands on my Rapier’s handle and raise the sword up in front of my face to open my Mana Gate.
As more mana entered my body, my body became lighter and lighter until wind started to form around me, pushing away from me. That’s the sign to tell me I’m almost at my limit for the amount of mana that could be collected, at my certain level. If I collect too much then I could die an instant death from Mana Affliction.
That’ll be enough to defeat this oversized dwarf.
“I guess it’s my time to shine” I confidently smile as I activate Typhoon Streak.
As mana begins to pour off me I start shining like a star from the mana and a strong gust of wind makes a final wave out of me.
Only I can only keep this active for a minute
“Hehe. Yeah you are shining, but what does that have to do with anything? We are fighting, you know”.
Bud calls out to me as he crouches next to Hexa, casting a spell to undo the slowness that Hammerhead threw on her.
I give a cold stare to Bud, “It’s an expression to say, it’s my turn to- why the hell am I explaining this to you?”
I zip forward like lightning, shocking Hammerhead. I roll into a slide under him, getting a large gash on Hammerhead’s left leg. Hammerhead staggers back and lets out an agitated growl and aims his warhammer onto me by doing a wide strike. I effortlessly dodge,
I laugh, “Perhaps I overestimated you, I thought you had better reaction speed”
“You bastard. I’ll beat you into a bloody pulp!” Hammerhead yells, swigging like a wild animal madly at me.
I hold up my rapier, banging it into his warhammer, normally that would’ve probably made my blade go flying, but Typhoon Streak gave me more strength to instead push him back. Hammerhead staggers back as Baldr comes in, leaving a nasty gash on his back. Saaxol then hit him in the side of the head with a quarterstaff.
I raise my sword in front of me and charge in like a jouster on a horse. Hammerhead narrows his eyes on me and starts to do a swing towards me.
Shit, he caught on to the speed. Can’t dodge this one.
I wince expecting to get hit full force but Baldr comes jumping in, hitting the warhammer away from me. I continue my charge and I stab him right in the hip making him plummet to the ground.
I smile, “What was it that you said to us when we came in?” I stab my rapier through his hand, making the conjured warhammer disappear with purple dust floating away.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
“Oh right you said, we had messed with the wrong potion maker” I started twisting my rapier and quickly dragging across his arm. Hammerhead screeches and clenches his fists, as he shrinks back to normal size.
“Mansoon that’s enough we won” Hexa slowly said, as Bud was still removing the effects of slowness.
I ignored her and whispered in Hammerhead’s ear, “I want to know.” I could hear the heavy breathing of Hammerhead, a twisted grin forming on my face,
“What is your favorite limb, hm? It must be your arms… How else could you make potions without them? Looks like someone is losing their arms today”.
“No, please. Have mercy I-” Hammerhead pleads.
“You think you deserve mercy you rat?” I cackle.
Hammerhead’s eyes widen and Baldr steps forward, “Mansoon, I think Presto wants us to keep him alive, I’m sure justice will reach him. Just not right now”.
“Presto never said anything about whether he wants him dead or alive” I raise my rapier and using the last bit of Typhoon Streak I had left-
A loud clatter of steel hits my rapier away, and a large mana aura. My eyes widened as I realized Hexa countered my Typhoon Streak. There’s only one thing that could use pure force to stop a Typhoon Streak strike and that was a berserker.
“Baldr could be right. Plus I think the guards would like to know the full story of how a bunch of man-eating monsters came into the city” Hexa calmly states.
“Okay fine” The light from Typhoon Streak dims away as the last of the mana escapes me. I put away my rapier as Presto comes dashing in with one guard, who is wearing perfectly untouched white pants and a trench coat that has a red and white pattern that leads into a black undershirt with golden buttons. On his side there’s a beautiful dark red and white scabbard that has gold linings that create a dragon’s face.
“OH YOU GUYS DID IT! OH MY JOURNAL!” Presto comes running over to a barrel that has a dark leather journal on top of it.
The single guard walks over to Hammerhead and ties him up.
“Just one guard?” Saaxol points out.
“Sorry this is all I could find in a hurry! I found him in the street leading civilians out” Presto yells.
“Ah so he’s some sort of Traffic Cop” I call out “He wouldn’t have been much help anyways”.
“Ah, probably. You guys seem pretty strong.” He lets out a warm smile, as I notice his blue eyes that have gold streaks inside of the blue.
I start to go pale and frozen as recognition kicks in.
How stupid could I be? It’s only just the Dragon Sword Priest of the kingdom, just walked in and I stupidly insulted him. He could cut me down with a flick of the wrist. Why the hell would the Dragon Sword Priest be in The City Of Qork?
The Dragon Sword Priest heals the wound I gave Hammerhead and stands up, he walks over to the cauldrons with the red mist in the corner of the room, “Just as I expected, The Drug Lord is up to this”.
The Dragon Sword Priest grabs a small rock and dips into the cauldron. The rock suddenly grows a mouth with sharp teeth and tries to bite The Dragon Sword Priest. The Dragon Sword Priest quickly smashes it with only the palm of his hand.
Saaxol tilts his head, “Drug Lord? Do we know who this man is?”
I couldn’t help but notice Saaxol quickly tapping his foot, was he excited?
“Sadly, we have no clue I was only coming here for a lead and it looks like I might have one” The Dragon Sword Priest looks over at Hammerhead, and gives us a warm smile, “Thank you again, heroes, you guys really are the best!”
Bud gives The Dragon Sword Priest a thumbs up, “You are welcome traffic cop!”
I freeze up but instead of putting us in our places, The Dragon Sword Priest chuckles.
“What is your name, sir?” Hexa says.
“Oh, sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Grayhart Clintone, it is nice to meet you all, Presto told me all your names already”.
My hands begin to sweat,
Shit he knows my name too.
I quickly turn to Presto who is flipping through his journal, “So, uh. Payment?”
Presto looks up and says, “Oh right! All of you meet me in my shop tomorrow! I should have payment ready there, I have to clean up this mess first!”. Presto walks out with Grayhart, carrying Hammerhead, following behind Presto.
“Alright. See you all at Presto’s tomorrow then” Saaxol calls out.
