Morgan sat at his desk working on spreadsheets for the company he was currently working for. Most of it was nonsense, mostly the shipping and handling of items bought online. Morgan tugged at his neck collar and his tie was uncomfortable. Checking the clock the time read 4:18pm he was close to the end of the day.
He saved and closed his station down. Standing up from his desk chair and reaching for his suit jacket and over coat.
“See you next week Morgan.” Jamie said to him.
“Yup, see you next week Jamie.” Morgan put on his coat and smiled.
“Hey Jamie, I will need your side of the reports for next Monday's hand in.”
“No problem.” Jamie stood up after shutting off her computer.
“What are your plans for the evening Morgan?” Jamie asked while putting on her coat.
“Oh probably watch the game with some junk food, maybe ask Cira to come over.” Morgan shrugged.
“Oh right Cira, will I ever get to meet her, she seems so mysterious?” Jamie said as she put her brown fur hat over her blonde long hair.
“Ummm sure if you want, come by at around seven when the game starts, my apartment is on the corner of eighth street down from the old car wash on pine ave. It’s a large building called the boardwalk, my apartment is 225 buzz it and I will let you in.” Morgan watched Jamie type on her cell phone.
“Is this the one?” Jamie showed Morgan the purple cell phone.
“Yup, that's it. So I will see you there?” Morgan waited for her response.
“Yes, should I bring anything?” Jamie asked.
“You don’t have to.” Morgan said and they both started to walk out of the office building together.
They walked out of the first floor down a set of stairs. They passed the security guard and Morgan opened the door to the freezing cold winter snow. The wind was strong and snowflakes flying around were making the conditions look and feel like a blizzard.
“It’s cold out here, how are you still wearing shoes?” Jamie asked.
“Well I try to stay out of it. Your boots look warm, they must have cost a fortune.” Morgan said looking at the little fancy fur balls that dangled off Jamie’s Winter proof boots.
Jamie laughed. “ They cost me like hundred and seventy two bucks.”
Morgan's eyes widened. “Yeah a fortune, I gotta pay the gas bill.”
“Like three years ago.” Jamie smiled taking the left side walk to her Small green suv.
“Oh that's comforting to hear they last.” Morgan felt the cold through his coats and shoes.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“Safe drive Morgan, See you later.” Jamie said and got in her car.
“You, to Jamie.” Morgan walked to the right side of the road to his parked Truck which sat alone in the parking lot.
Morgan reached for the door handle to the truck which was covered in snow. He used his coat sleeve to open the cold snow covered handle.
The truck door opened and snow fell from the top and onto the seat which he brushed off as quickly as he could. Then sat in the front seat to start the truck which had a slow start. The alternator made some slow attempts then started.
“Oh thank god I didn't have to call the tow truck to start my vehicle.” Morgan rubbed his hands together in front of the heater. The window was frozen and he didn't want to freeze in the cold truck so he Reached in the back of the truck and picked up the small ice and snow brush he had next to a blanket. Morgan opened the door and got out and started to scrape the ice off the truck window making a nice window of visibility. Morgan got back in his truck which was warming up.
Morgan then put the truck in drive and began to drive down to the exit of the parking lot which was an icy snow covered road and the visibility made this a task to get out onto the road but he wanted to get home so he drove on through the snow drifted highway back home.
It was a safe drive Morgan drove slow but made it down the road to his apartment. The roads were empty of traffic which made for the short easy drive back. Pulling into the parking lot. Morgan parked his truck and got out, locking the doors behind him. It was very cold and windy. He crossed his arms walking back in an attempt to shield himself from the cold winter chill.
Morgan entered the building and stomped his feet on the welcome mat. The snow fell off the tops of his black dress shoes Leaving an nice shiny wet look to them. The apartment was warm and cozy. He walked to check his mail box and his parcel came in. Smiling He stuffed the key into the hole and opened the mailbox and his package was inside.
“Yes, I waited all week for this.” Morgan walked up the staircase to the second floor and opened the door to the hallway he lived in, holding his assorted mail under his left arm. The door closed behind him while he continued down the carpet covered floor to his door.
He opened his door with his apartment key. Walking in he kicked off his shoes and turned on the lights while he took a right into his kitchen to put his mail on the table.
“Yeah this place is a mess.” He said looking at the old meal dishes on the table. He Then walked to his room stepping over dirty dress shirts and ties from the work week.
Morgan stopped at the closet and took off his coats, placing them individually on the coat rack next to other coats he accumulated over the years.
Morgan walked down the hall and picked up his articles of dirty clothes.
Then walked around his living room to look for anything he might have missed.
There were no clothes, just a bunch of books and papers on the long glass coffee table.Morgan walked with the clothes and opened the washer and placed them inside the empty washer. He poured the cleaning solutions inside and turned it on.
Morgan then walked to the dishwasher opening it up and taking out the clean dishes he placed them into the cupboards above his sink and then he walked to his dirty dishes on the table picking the dirtiest ones to clean taking them over to the trash and cleaning off the old food.
Morgan then piled them up and placed them onto the dishwasher rack, he then placed the rack back in with a slight nudge and poured the soap in the washer then turned it on.
“That's better for the company expected later tonight.” Morgan reassured himself and walked to the bathroom and got undressed looking at his abs in the mirror he flexed and made a click with mouth pointing a finger gun and pretending to shoot himself in the mirror.
“Still a slayer.” He laughed and turned the shower on and got in.
Morgan washed himself using the last of his body wash. rubbing it on his face and chest.
Once he was feeling refreshed he turned it off and wiped the water drops from his eyes so he could see. Stepping onto the floor and reaching for the towel rack.
Morgan wiped himself dry then wrapped the towel around him, walking across the hall to his room. Morgan stopped at his desk in his room to check his laptop, once the sleep mode screen turned on he noticed the email notification. He clicked and saw it was an email from Cira.
“Sorry Morgan, I can't make it tonight for the game.” Cira’s email read, so he typed back.
“Well that's unfortunate I was hoping you could have made it over tonight. With a sad face emoticon.”
Morgan then walked to the dresser and pulled out some underwear and sweatpant and a green shirt he liked to wear.
Getting dressed he noticed a reply and walked over to see.
“I will make our next visit forsure smiling face kisses lips emoticons.”
Morgan smiled at her message and walked back out to the hallway down to his living room.
Sitting down on the black sofas, he looked for the remote and could not find it.
Looking around the book and paper covered table he lifted a large book and found it.
“There you are.” Morgan turned on his large flat screen tv.
Flipping through the channels he hit the guide and scrolled down through the stations to the sports entertainment. Browsing the channels to watch while relaxed.
Morgan settled on some old boxing.
