Before Janet can stop, you pull her through the imaginarybars.
"Mariet You must have cast a spell on me!" She said it faintly.
"Oh, the magic was weak," you comfort. "Let's find the cat and break the miserable curse of Burgershof!"
Then you hear a meow from the top of the stairs. You run to the stairwell. "You look right, and I'll look left," said Janet. There is no sign of the cat in the hallway, so you peek into a bedroom whose door is open. Nothing either. You run back to see how Janet is doing, but she's clear. You call out to her, peering into every door that isn't locked, but to no avail. You walk back to the stairs and jump aside when Amouse scurries past you.

Suddenly, an old aunt appears out of nowhere in front of you. She is tall and dressed in black, and her hair is tied in a low bun.
It feels like her glowing green eyes are boring. right through you. It must be Mistress Burger! Then she never died. She looks like a witch to me. But, of course, witches don't really exist. Or do they?
