You're barely inside when you hear a muffled cry for help. It's Janet! You rush down at the sound of her voice, first through the kitchen and dining room, then through a dark, musty library until you reach the foyer. You find Janet sitting in a miserable heap behind the grand staircase.
"What on earth happened!? What the hell!" you exclaim, kneeling next to her.
"Oh, help me!" she exclaimed. She was shaking like a reed. "I'm trapped!"

"Trapped?" Now what does she mean by that?
"Yes! I looked through the house and then came across a cat, right here where I'm sitting. It must have been Mrs. Burger's cat, Mariet. When I wanted to pet her, she gave me a horrible look, like a kind of grin. After that, she started walking back and forth so funny, as if there were something like bars between us. She later gave way, but it feels to me that the bars are still here and that something terrible will happen to me if I try to get out.'
You can see that Janet has gone crazy. Nothing you say can convince her that she is just imagining the bars and that she is so upset for nothing.
