Kai had hardly been a student at Cole’s High for an hour, expecting a life of luxury, surrounded by beautiful women all gunning for him as if he were a lonesome wildebeest in the safari reserves, or perhaps he would indulge in cuisines created by the Gods themselves. The plethora of luxuries such a prestigious school could offer was endless! All thoughts turned to dust, for Kai had found himself In quite the predicament. Kai had always wanted to be a hero, but his idea of a hero was a handsome, cape flying Bison of a man with eye lasers in which Criminals would run on the sight of his glory. Kai was the opposite. He had no Lasers, No cape, and his handsomeness was up for debate, If he had combed his dark black hair and wore a tie that went with his blue jacket, perhaps he would be a presentable young man, but his current situation failed to fix his image and only damaged it. Sweating profusely as he gasps for air, it would be hard to distinguish him from a steam train in the 19th century. Turning corners and crevices through the blue and white halls of Cole’s, posters of what seem to be political figures look on in disappointment. The eggshell color of tiled floors gets a fresh new coating of sweat as Kai stops to catch his breath. From the reflection of his shameful bodily fluids, menacing-looking upperclassmen with oily slicked back hair stand over Kai. Ah, a hero who runs from the opposition. Or maybe not? Knowing Kai, this might be a ploy. He’ll use the out of service water fountain and wet sign to his advantage, right?
“Ahh! Shit Shit Shit Help!” of course not. Kai almost slips as he takes off from his pursuer. Covering his eyes as a flash of light dances around him. It was the Student Council president. Masha of the grave. Apparently, she got that nickname because of her almost ghastly appearance, rightfully so since her hair is as pale as her skin, and her black eyes as dark as the abyss. So mesmerizing that Kai had failed to notice his pursuer lying on the ground, stone-cold and her shoe coming at him at the speed of thought. Today wasn’t all bad. In all this commotion, the Student prez chose the worst tactic in taking him out. A high kick. She was wearing shorts under her skirt, falling Kai full of regrets.
The Morn was long, Kai’s walk of shame through the back street’s of Cole’s Mouth city made his pounding headache even worse. After being apprehended by the true Hero of Coles High, they sentenced him to Afterschool detention on the charges of disturbing the work area. What? The guy was bullying some other kid. What was Kai to do? Anyway, detention isn’t that bad. The real problem is that he must be in the same class that asshole for 2 extra hours. Kai seems to be a delinquent magnet as a group of ruffians seems to harass some girl sitting under a streetlight. They don’t seem to be her friends since none of them are sitting next to her and she’s clutching her red handbag like a newborn. His day had already been a major mess. Even the greatest superheroes avoided fights sometimes right?
“I said to stop!”, The girl’s whispering voice slid across Kai’s ear. He taps his feet and exhales in frustration, turning around to see one ruffian with a stupid looking snapback way too small for his head and a kid so short you’d think he was a middle schooler. Kai has firsthand courage, he’ll approach the challenge, but he might wimp out in the middle of it. Can’t tell if that’s an excellent quality for a hero or not. He walks up to the snapback Kid and taps on his shoulder; he jumps from Kai’s taps. He’s so tense. Is he just a middle schooler trying to hit on this girl? On closer inspection, she is cute. With her light brown twin-tailed hair and the light from the street lamp making her blue eyes glisten.
“C-can I help you?”, The snapback kid trembles as he’s a few inches shorter than Kai. Could Kai be wrong and these guys were just some amateur catcallers? He wouldn’t be opposed to taking them in and teaching him the ways of the catcaller. But now is the time to be mature.
“Hey, she’s not comfortable, okay? Maybe try again in the daytime, by yourself”
She becomes noticeably annoyed as she taps her feet and clenches her bag. You could even hear smack her lips.
“What do you know, Asshole? You’re just some creep watching us from over there, aren’t you?” The little one is feisty, but his height takes away from his intimidation factor. The small knife he took from his pocket didn’t waver Kai’s confidence in the slightest.
“Listen, I don’t want to have to hurt you gu-”. A sudden chill runs down Kai’s spine. He’d always receive a cold sensation whenever trouble was brewing. Maybe there really is a creep watching, and he’s going to attack them. Or maybe they have friends who are going to gang up on him and hurt the girl? Kai frantically looks around for signs of danger. Feeling a wet sensation on the back of his head, his body freeze’s up.
“I said, to leave me alone!”. The girl’s voice? She has every right to be angry. Kai touches his hair that’s now a lot heavier than before. His hands are red with blood. He turns around and is greeted by the decapitated head of the snapback kid and the lower half of the short kid. The girls in this city are monsters. In an instance, Kai could feel every cell of his body ripped apart as he burst like a water balloon. Just like that, the victim kills the hero, but it conflicts her. Did she kill the wrong person? She scratches her head in a stupor.
“Hmm, was that boy trying to help me? Argh, I can’t tell these humans. Well, I can’t just kill him with no reasoning. This is ticking me off”
She bites her thumb and lets her blood drip in the very middle of the bloody remains of Kai. He’s rebuilt from the bottom up like a disassembled toy figure. The very moment his brain becomes intact, the tears flow. Dropping unto the ground as his tears flood the street, the girl watches on in embarrassment.
“Just to be clear you were trying to help me correct?”
“I’m alive. How am I alive? I felt it… I felt my body rip apart!”, Kai feels every part of his body, remembering the feeling.
“Ugh, just answer my question so I can decide if I should kill you again or not”, her stuck up attitude put anger in Kai’s newly beating heart but there nothing he could do against this monster.
“Wasn’t it obvious that I was helping you!?”
“Not quite. You could’ve just said that” It’s clear she doesn’t enjoy playing the victim.
“Wh-whatever, how did you do that? How did you kill me so fast? How did you bring me back to life I-”, Kai’s breathing is clear, he isn’t out of breath like he’d normally be.
“I used my blood to bring you back to life. I recreated you in my image.” She turns and whispers to herself, “Though I might have used a bit too much”
She holds Kai’s face and inspects it intently.
“My, it seems you’ve gotten handsome. You were quite an ugly site before,”, Kai slaps her hand away.
“If what you said is true, then aren’t you going to heal those two. They just thought you were cute and wanted your number so there was no need to kill them!?”, Kai shouts at her as her green frilly dress is cleaned almost instantly by an invisible force.

“Cute you say? In my realm beings below me could not even comprehend my appearance. Now I’m stuck in this weak girl’s body. No, I will not be healing them. They had their chance to leave me be but threw their lives away. Now come.”
Kai, still confused about the situation, is still the hero. There is no way he could leave two innocent kids with their bodies stretched across the street.
“You said I was recreated to be just like you, right? That means I should be able to bring these guys back right?” She turns around, irritated. Her temper can go from 0 to 100 fairly quickly. “I Said come!”, Kai ignores her command, cutting his thumb and letting out a slight gasp in pain. Seem’s he can still feel it. The girl looks perplexed as she watches the two boys slowly as they get stitched together.
“He completely ignored my Command. Seems my mental miracles don’t work on him. Just how much power did I grant him?”
Kai fidgets in joy, smiling at the fact that he had saved not one but two lives. This encounter had made him a genuine hero.
“They’re still ugly, it seems I didn’t give you too much power.”, She yawns. Though she is quite relieved that she hadn’t created someone as strong as she is.
“What are you anyway? Some failed science experiment?” Kai sits the boy’s down on the desks since they came back unconscious.
“How rude. The person you just degraded is your creator. I am… ugh,”. A growl as loud as the clap of thunder erupts from her belly. “What is this sensation? It’s as if a Hue beast took shelter in my stomach”
“You’re just hungry. You’re a weird one, but you’re still a child. And you aren’t from around here either. I’ll treat you to dinner but you have to promise me you’ll explain everything okay?”, He extends his arm, intending on sealing the deal with a handshake.
“Yes, I accept. Now, where is it you live?” She completely ignores his shake. This bothers Kai more than it should.
“I live in the school dorms. I can’t really afford my place since I just moved here from the slums. It’s more a walk from here so”
“Walk? Humph, why don’t you teleport there? You have my powers now, don’t you? Though they are much weaker”
Kai’s eyes light up the moment she says teleport.
“Wait, I can teleport? Like captain Zap? Or miss Plasma?”, Kai’s excitement takes over. He grabs her shoulders, forgetting about what she did to him previously.
“Unhand me! I have no interest in your false idols.”, Kai lets her go and apologizes.
“Haha sorry about that, I’m just passionate about that stuff. So how do I do it?”
“As long as you have an image of your destination you should be able to teleport there. But be careful you have to-” She’s cut off as Kai pulls her hand, teleporting her to the front door of the dorm building surrounded by a metal fence and built 3 stories high with red and brown bricks. The girl lets out a long sigh. Her left hand is cut clean off.
“Ah, you imbecile! Teleportation works with your center of mass so you can’t move when you’re doing it! I’m lucky I lost my hand and not my head!”
“Oh, sorry, I was just so excited. I mean you can heal that can’t you?”
“Can I heal-”, her frustration takes hold of her as she repeatedly punches Kai on the shoulder
“That’s not the point idiot!”, Kai laughs at her tiny palms tickling his shoulder.
The front door opens as the yellow light engulfs the two. At the door is the Hall director in her pajamas. Wiping her eyes away and yawning as she makes out the figures at the door.
“You’re mister Kanashi, right? Don’t you think you’re a little late on your first day at the dorms?”
“Oh, right curfew was 7 wasn’t it? Sorry, I lost track of time. Plus, I had detention as well”
“Yeah yeah. We haven’t had dinner yet, so go up and-”. She must be awake now that she finally realizes the girl’s presence, “Who’s this?”
Kai failed to think through how she’d be allowed in the dorm. She’s a middle schooler, so she couldn’t make the excuse that she lives in the dorms. Also, the fact that this is an all boy’s dorm. He couldn’t teleport her either since he hasn’t been in his room yet.
“Uh, she’s my-”, Kai’s cut off by the girl “I’m his little sister. My name is Muina. Nice to meet you. I moved here from the country with my big brother and I have no place to stay”. Damn, she’s good. Though it was a good attempt, they wouldn’t allow a girl in an all boy’s dorm, anyway. The Hall Director’s face confirmed it.
“Ah what the hell. Come on in! Fred made too much food, anyway. We could use another stomach,” No way that just happened.
“Thank you very much”, Muina does a small bow to show her appreciation
“Aw come on there’s no need for that”
“Thank you, Dorm mother”, Kai bows. The dorm mother’s skin becomes red after being given the title of mother.
“S-sure. Now go on up, dinner starts in 10”
Kai walks down the red-carpeted floors of the dormitory. The amateur paintings on the cream-colored walls reflect the light from the chandeliers spaced at least 10 feet apart. Muina follows silently.
“They’re coming, Kai”
“Coming? Who is?” Kai turns to her and walks backward, almost tripping over a fold in the carpet.
“I’m not sure why I’m in this world, but I know that there are people that want to capture me,”. Even with this topic, she is calm.
“Well, can’t you just blow them away as you did to me earlier?”
“I can’t. Where I’m from, there’s a very strict rule that forbids me from hurting my people,”, Kai stops walking as he passes the mahogany door with his room number.
“By your people, you don’t mean-”
“Yes, the angels.”, An icy shiver runs through Kai’s spine.
“And you want me to protect you from these angels, I take it”, Muina says nothing as Kai has already deciphered the situation. He takes a few deep breaths.
“Ok. I’ll be a hero this time. But first I need a bath”
Kai opens the door to a white-walled room with 2 white-sheeted beds and mahogany floors. On the left bed lies a boy with brown hair fast asleep with a smut magazine laying on his chest fast asleep.
“Ok. Wait out here, call me if something happens”. Muina shows signs of stress as she taps her feet a little slower than her breaths.
“They’re almost here.”
“Ok. Ok, I’ll be right out”, Kai quickly takes off his shirt and moves on to his pants when the door bursts open.
“Kai!” He gets teleported out to the front of the building, shirtless as a woman in a black tank top with wavy brown hair and blue eyes face the building wielding a golden sword. Kai pulls Muina behind her as she utters the words “Domino”
“My name is Uriel of the 7 Angels. Saraqael I’ve come for you”
