The Next Morning

In the morning of the very next day the successful disciples of the second phase of the exam all exited the city walls arriving at the agreed location by 6am. Wan Kun now recovered from his injuries also walked out of the city gate. He was telepathically communicating with his master over his battle yesterday against FengHuang.

The two were reviewing over all the attacks that FengHuang performed and her overall attitude towards the battles. Wan Kun’s taste couldn’t help but be slightly frightened of her “that FengHuang lass is too mysterious, whats scary is that she did all she did yesterday with no effort. I just can’t accurately pinpoint her cultivation.”

“I guess we can confirm that FengHuang definitely a Loose Immortal at least” Wan Kun concluded his discussion with his master. His battle yesterday had shocked not just him but also the entire Sacred Beast Kingdom. The big Buddha Palm alone was enough to destroy most Sky and Saint realm cultivators and make even Immortals drool with greed. But the sheer ease to which FengHuang dealt with it was even more terrifying and definitely cemented her position of power in the hearts of the people.

Wan Kun saw about 1 people that have already arrived wand standing conversing with one another next to a giant tree. “Ah, brother Wan” Wan Kun looked at the person waving at him, it was the prince Shi Xuegang who had motioned him forward. Shi Xuegang had previously arrived 20 minutes ago and began conversing with Da Chang and several others. Wan Kun happily walked over and bowed “your royal highness’ performance yesterday was truely spectacular, this junior is honoured”. “Nonsense, Its you who is truely impressive” Wan Kun could tell that Shi Xuegang is very sincere with this statement.

“That’s right, brother Wan’s performance was truely out of this world” a beautiful lady wearing a purple dress carrying a zither on her back. “Wan Kun, let m introduce you, this is our nation’s number one musician and sion of the Lin family, Lin Zhenlan” Shi Xuegang introduced Lin Zhenlan with a smile. In truth both Shi Xuegang and Lin Zhenlan could be described as complete strangers interacting for the first Tim, normally he wouldn’t bother personally introduce anyone, however Lin Zhenlan’s background the Lin family holds great influence in the entire western region of the Holy Saint Continent.

“Pleased to meet you, its an honour to meet the famed Fairy Lin. Against your music spells, this Wan feels he has no place to boast” Wan Kun greeted Lin Zhenlan with politeness, he remembered her from her own battle with FengHuang. While her battle was flashy it was equally as profound as any of the top competitors. Lin Zhenlan’s weapon of choice is in fact a music instrument and her method of attacking revolved around sound, this is also one of the best assassination abilities in the world.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

“Ha, Ha, brother Wan, no need to be modest, your final attack was extraordinary, much stronger then mine. In fact, I think even the Immortals from all those superpowers noticed” Da Chang chimed gnat this moment rejoining the conversation. “Just an exaggeration. You are also not bad, you have the highest cultivation out of all of us.” Wan Kun complemented back to with Da Chang responded “Cultivation level is just a number, it means nothing in the face of battle power”.

As the newly met group of acquaintances conversed with one another as more and more people arrived. Nearby Zi Cheng leaned against the tree not interacting with anybody, he was still having trouble believing some of the abilities shown by his competition yesterday. “Maybe I truely don’t deserve to be here”. Zi Cheng though back to the battles he’d watch and realised hat he can no longer be arrogant, against the true superpowers he was still an ant. Unknown to him and everyone else, high up in the sky floated FengHuang and Hei Hainan. The two were observing the group and evaluating their personalities and potential again.

----------------------------------------

By 8am Li Huo was the last to arrive. Seeing this FengHuang and Hei Hainan flew down. “I apologise for my tardiness” Li Huo bowed to the two seniors infant of him. “No harm done, are we all ready to depart” seeing everyone nod their heads Hei Hainan waved his hand.

“FWOOSH” In a flash, a long winged serpentine dragon flew down carrying a large sailboat about 200 metres long. His body was lined with golden fish scales from head to tail that measured up to 70 metres long, long catfish whiskers stretched from his nose and mighty big nostrils, his claws were razor sharp and large feathery wings connected on his shoulder. The Dragon was one of the Cloud Dragon breed, born with great mastery over the wind and posses a very high cultivation that Wan Kun’s master couldn’t read. He pulled behind him a Wooden sailboat with only one massive mast that stood 190 metres on its own. The dragon landed on the ground but the boat stayed floating a dozen metres off the ground.

“Masters” the dragon bowed his head greeted FengHuang and Hei Hainan with great respect. The new disciples were startled by this sight, wasn’t this a dragon, one of the Cloud Dragon breed, a species known for their pride and arrogance? Where was his pride? How powerful must these two be for such an creature to bow down to them.

“Greetings Jin Lei, sorry to trouble you but we have new disciples to receive” FengHuang greeted the dragon politely gesturing towards the group of new disciples. “Thirteen this year? Thats more the I expected. Very well then” Jin Lei the dragon used his telekinesis to lift the group of thirteen onto the deck. FengHuang and Hei Hainan also flew onto the front deck.

Hei Hainan nodes to FengHuang and stepped forward “you are now considered disciples of our Sacred Beast Sect, however there is still one final exam left. Do not worry, this exam is simply for the rest of the elders to watch and determine if they wish for personal disciples as well as a chance for you to earn certain rewards and benefits.” Hei Hainan gestured towards the dragon “this is Jin Lei, an important figure of our sect. He is responsible for transporting important things to headquarters, do not trouble him.” Hei Hainan nodded to Jin Lei.

“FLAP” Jin Lei stretched his wings and flapped once propelling himself into the air and flapped a second time to take off pulling the boat and its passengers with him. Hei Hainan turned to the new disciples “our flight will take 2 hours so rest up, you’ll need your energy. Also do not leave the top deck”. Li Huo, Shi Xuegang and others took this advice and found a place to sit down catching some sleep.

Wan Kun sat under the mast thinking to himself ‘whats going on? Somethings not right, even master can’t tell their cultivation. Xue’er just what kind of place were you taken to?’
