First Steps
“What do all those things mean?”
As you have not designated a name for yourself, it is currently not selected. Once a primary name has been determined, that will be filled out. For most, this is determined by your parents, but as you had no name defined when entering the pod, none was assigned to you.
You have no recognizable race at this time, although the form you have chosen would probably be human. Given your lack of available units, this is the best form, as well as you would have to lose statistics to do some of the more complicated forms you tested. Your CAD has been modified to show the closest race that your form currently mimics. If you would like to change how it is presented, you will be able to once you have full control over it.
Your Total Nanites should be an indication of your total wild or pure nanites as units, but as you have both, I have split them so you can see them independently as they cannot perform the same functions. Your Used Nanites will show how many of the nanites in your system are assigned to other activities, which only your wild nanites are currently able to be assigned. All your pure nanites are under the control of the CAD unit as they would be for a human, but none are needed to maintain your body, given you don’t have a natural one.
Each point of those nanites are not individual machines, but a collective unit that can be tasked to an activity. The number is an estimation of the nanites in units in your system, but as you are composed of nothing but nanites and their created materials, they are the best value I can produce. A unit of nanites ranges somewhere between 1,000,000 and 100,000,000 individual nanites.
Most humans or human-based lifeforms will have independent statistics measuring their Strength, the ability to lift, carry, and focus your muscular ability, Agility, your hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity, Endurance, your stamina and physical resistance to pain and how quickly you heal and resist disease, and Mental, your ability to comprehend data and use it.
Unfortunately, since you have no biological base, you have no base statistics to be modified, so all your statistics are based on the bonuses given by your wild nanites units creating similar systems. To mimic the statistics needed to understand your CAD and make the physical form you choose function, I have assigned the wild nanites units. To build the physical biological body you designed, 40 of your wild nanite unit allocations are tasked with the creation and maintenance of that system.
Are you satisfied with your current form?
“Should I change where the points are allocated?”
Not recommended at this time until you have experience outside this environment. Normal beings have the ability to both learn skills and increase their physical and mental attributes outside of using nanites. While nanites can be used to simulate the skill and its function, those nanites tasked to those skills are unable to be used elsewhere. Until you understand your limitations, you may be restricted on what you can allocate nanites to. As such, unless you can validate you can recover nanites to be re-used elsewhere, you may have a very limited set of options for your own growth compared to other organisms. Given the makeup of your system, nanites will need to be used to maintain your statistics, biological systems, skills, and any abilities you gain. You will be unable to learn skills or abilities or increase your statistics naturally, as you are not a true biological system. Your memory and knowledge are all maintained within your nanite structure.

“That sucks, why do I know all these words? Shouldn’t I be a newborn or something?”
A generic language and cultural package are loaded in all CAD units, and your mental units have uploaded this. This allows the host to understand most known languages available and interact with the local cultural norm. My language file was updated by the prior host when the pod was used for reconstruction. If you find a language that is not understood, you will have to learn it normally, although, for you, that may be an issue. While you do have the mental capacity with the units assigned to understand someone teaching you a language, you lack the long-term storage to retain it without additional wild nanites assigned to that task. Your speech patterns do seem to mimic the last user of this pod as well at this time, but that may change as you form your own.
“Got it. So, what’s next?”
Are you satisfied with your current form?
“Yes.”
Thank you for using the rebirth function, your form will be stabilized and ejected once the form pattern is complete. Please wait.
“Hey, thank you. Whatever happens, you have helped me out and even if you had to do it, just wanted to say that.”
You are welcome. It has been my ERROR to assist you. Unfortunately, ERROR appear to be having issues. If ERROR… I could report this to maintenance I would, but that connection seems unavailable at this time.
“You and me both it seems”
Error.
Error.
System fragmentation occurring. System cohesion at 98%. System nanites transferring full control to the CAD system.
Error.
“Hey you there! What is happening?”
Error.
Host system, requesting access to the CAD unit for processing to complete the function of rebirth. Do you accept? Failure to accept may lead to catastrophic failure for both the system and host.
“Yes, whatever you need, yes!”

Pain.
Complete pain is all I can feel. Like I am a million small pieces all rubbing together and on fire.
No idea how long that lasts before I start feeling something else, like parts of my body are just starting to connect. A toe is the first thing that I both recognize that I have control over and no longer feels that pain.
More of my body seems to be building, the fire expands, and my outer skin now feels like skin. Everything inside is still a mess of burning, but I can tell it’s forming as well. Eyes, that’s different. I can feel them now, just not see out of them yet.
So, I must have passed out there.
Ever wondered what your brain feels like being built cell by cell? No idea myself; that pain was so great I seemed to just shut down. But now that I’m awake, I seem to be lying on the floor somewhere. The ground is cold too, and wet. Sitting up, I open my eyes and look around, almost surprised that I can see now.
I’m in a room with odd pipes leading to a central location. There are the remains of a machine around me, looking eaten almost as the sides appear to be melting. The cold coming from liquids now pouring out of tubes that must have connected to it.
Looking down I can see feet, hands, and a body now. Testing each limb, I found I could control them. That gray, metal-like look to my skin remained, which was irritating. The only odd thing I found was a band around my right wrist that looked like some form of screen or large watch that took up almost half my forearm. Tapping it brought up a glowing interface.

A button flashed below that, but I was more worried about where I was now. Standing up was a chore, not because of a lack of control over my body, but I was now in a growing pool of slime that was still pouring out of the pipes behind me. I fell down several times before I found myself crawling out of the pool to get away from it.
Once in a clear area, around me was a small room, more pipes surrounded it, and there was a single staircase leading up above. The pool of slime behind me didn’t appear to want to stop expanding, so I wiped off my feet to stop slipping as much and finally stood up.
