Chapter 99: Against The Army Of Helheim

-----

[The Cosmic Throne {Divine Forger of Olympus} feels relieved you’ve arrived with the rest of your allies.]

[Because of all the things his sponsored human has done for you, he expects your help in aiding her survival.]

[At the very least!]

“Of course I’ll help her survive, Hephaestus! Do you take me for a senseless and selfish person?” Sighed Anna as she met with a tired, wounded Hilda, who had been hammering at Undead for a while. “Shiro! Heal Hilda!”

“Chuuuu!” The small angelic Shiro flew towards Hilda, bathing her in a divine celestial light of recovery.

[Your [Tamed Monster: Shiro] has activated the [Miracle Spirit Magic (B)] Skill!]

[Bright and relieving light has started healing the wounds of [Character: Hilda]!]

“Hahahahh… What a relief! I thought I was about to die- Agh! The Bone Golems!” Hilda panicked, only to suddenly glance at the ridiculous scene in front of her.

Ten Angelic Spirit Knights flew across the skies, swarming the two Giant Bone Golems at once and beginning to cut down their arms with blades made of light. There were a few others conjuring fireballs and wind attacks, and another with a bow, firing arrows of light.

The last of the Angelic Spirit Knights swiftly and masterfully cut down the legs of the two Bone Golems, making their bodies collapse above the floor, immediately crumbling down into just piles of bones.

“I-I guess that problem is dealt with!” Hilda laughed nervously.

“Anna, defend the city with everyone else. Henrietta, accompany me on chasing Sara! We can’t let her get away with Hector! We’ve already lost her; if we lose yet another A-Rank Hunter, our city will be left completely defenseless!” Jack said, panicking.

“Alright!” Anna nodded. “Leave this to us; we’ll catch up to you when we’re done.”

Anna wanted to chase down Sara and learn more about what was happening, but right now the most pressing matter was that the undead were climbing the walls and some flying wyvern undead were beginning to attack the magic barrier.

They couldn’t simply chase Sara and ignore this problem, so the most reasonable thing was to send the two strongest members of their group, Jack and Henrietta, to catch Sara and leave everyone else inside the city. And well, it wasn’t as if they didn’t have their strong members, as Scarlet was now with them.

“Scarlet, I’m counting on you!” Jack said as he and Henrietta quickly took flight, swiftly chasing down Hel.

“Very well.” Scarlet nodded. “I’ll show you my resolve... My love for you!” Scarlet said, a bit too late though, as Jack didn’t hear her.

Her surroundings started to be covered in blood; everyone had to step back as her blood started swirling around her body constantly, exuding a deadly, demonic aura.

“{Blood Magic}: {Blood Rose Garden}”

FLASH!

The blood around her suddenly spread around, as hundreds of Undead, from skeletons to zombies, were caught in a garden made of red flowers, which quickly started to glow brightly.

“{Bloom}!”

And right after putting up the landmines, Scarlet smiled, her eyes glowing bright red with a domineering and powerful presence. The Blood Roses started to explode, generating a chain of explosions one after another.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The Undead were all engulfed in the scarlet-colored explosions, their bodies being vaporized while only leaving tiny magic crystals behind. Scarlet, by herself, started annihilating half of the undead army!

“Wow! Big sis, so strong!” Annabelle started clapping.

"She's amazing; no wonder she’s an A++ Rank Magician.” Said Hilda. “But where did she come from?! I thought Hunter Scarlet was in another city."

“She… moved here,” Anna said with a giggle. “Anyways! We better take care of the other side; Scarlet can’t do all the job herself.”

“I’ll be leaving the west side of the army to you then.” Scarlet nodded. “Annabelle, work hard!”

“I will!” Annabelle nodded.

“Good girl.” Scarlet started flying using blood-made bat-like wings while conjuring huge hands made of blood and crushing the Undead one after another. “{Blood Magic}: {Blood God Hands}”

The entire battlefield continued to shake; her huge bloody hands even grabbed dozens of flying undead and pushed them down into the ground below. Their bodies exploded into pieces on the way.

Anna nodded with resolve, leading the rest of her allies into battle as she rushed into the middle of the west side, where thousands of Undead appeared, groaning. Her Eyes of Truth quickly helped her analyze all the monsters around her.

“The majority of the Undead are C-Rank Skeleton Soldiers or Toxic Zombies. As long as you guys don’t get closer to the zombies, it should be alright!” Anna said. “There are B-Rank Giant Bone Golems scattered; they walk slowly and hit their legs so they crumble down! There are also Death Wyverns and Skeleton Shamans. And there are a few A-Rank Liches, Death Knights, and Banshees. Be careful!”

“Okay! As long as we stay together, it should be doable.” Baihe nodded. “Shiro, you better give us support too!”

“Chuu…” Shiro gave a tired groan.

“My eye still hurts, but getting rid of a bunch of C-Rank monsters shouldn’t be impossible by now!” Kevin roared; his body quickly being encompassed by an aura of light. “{Light God’s Battle Aura}!”

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Kevin was the first to step forward alongside Anna’s Angelic Spirit Knights, who were already killing dozens of Undead with each attack, as his spear strikes unleashed illusory attacks that made it seem as if hundreds of spears hit the Undead Army all around.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

The Undead started flying in the skies, breaking down to pieces as Kevin’s attacks hit them. His movements were precise and fast, and despite being weakened after having used a rather exhausting skill, he was still contributing really well.

“{Blizzard}!” Dan Baihe said, pointing his hands against hundreds of Undead at once, as their bodies instantly became frozen solid on huge glaciers above the ground. “Snow!”

“ROAR!”

While riding Snow, the brave wolf used his sharp horn to pierce the frozen Undead, destroying their frozen bodies one after another and killing any Undead that could try to unfreeze themselves.

Thanks to Snow’s new skills and his privilege, Anna had already kind of given him up to Dan Baihe. Even though he still had the [Friend] title, so she could summon him and all, it was much more efficient to keep the wolf around her for the buffs.

“{Arachneia Swarm}!”

Meanwhile, Annabelle was trying out something she had yet to completely use; through the power of her newly acquired Spider Queen skill that she awakened thanks to Anna’s privileges, she spread out her aura into the floor, resembling an endless shadow realm.

The shadow realm started moving as countless figures emerged from within its depths; huge spiders made of darkness appeared by the dozens—over fifty in just a couple of seconds!

These were the Arachneia Swarm, the unique temporary summons she could bring out while transformed into her Spider Queen form, which was also a very draining form.

At most, she could summon them for a couple of minutes, but in this dire situation, that was more than enough.

“SHAAAH!”

The huge spiders varied in size; some small ones were as strong as C-Rank monsters, while the biggest ones exuded the power of B-Rank monsters! Although there were only five in between over fifty.

Due to their still gigantic bodies, the smallest being three meters in height, they easily crushed the undead with their very steps, while using their sharp mandibles to grasp groups of undead and crush them into pieces; some even devoured them whole.

“HYAAAH!”

Meanwhile, Annabelle continued fighting physically, utilizing the fighting style Anna had taught her recently, which was the basic battle techniques of kicking, punching, and jumping away from dangerous blows by predicting them using her sharp senses.

Like this, and with her army at her side, Annabelle managed to take down a few Death Wyverns pestering her by wrapping her spiderweb around their bodies in midair and dragging them down like a fishnet for her Swarm to crush once on the floor.

And Anna? Well, while her army of Angelic Spirit Knights was slicing apart dozens of Undead at once, she quickly decided to aim at the B-Rank and A-Rank monsters that would become a pain if they accumulated.

While riding over Violet’s back, Anna targeted a small flock of Banshees, A-Rank monsters. Their bodies were rather weak; however, their scream could cause several status effects and weaken enemies for the stronger undead to take down.

They were qualified as A- Rank due to their tricky natures and also because of their spectral properties, making them near immune to physical damage.

Well, near immune!

“Now, Violet!” Anna said.

“KRIEEEH!” Violet produced a large quantity of silk, shaped like a net, imitating Annabelle’s way of hunting the wyverns but aiming for much larger fish.

Naturally, the silk was strong, but the Banshees would easily go through it thanks to their Spectral Nature… That is, unless somebody were to enchant the silk.

“{Celestial Enchantment}!”

The silk-made net shone with bright golden light, swiftly catching a dozen Banshees at once! The spectral half-bird entities instantly started to panic, screaming loudly and using their signature shriek!

“CRYAAAAAAAHHH!!!”

Several messages like these appeared in front of Anna, and she paid no mind to them. Thanks to her combination of Eyes of Truth, Cosmic Transcendent, Celestial Body, and more Privileges, she had an incredibly high resistance to most Status Effects.

“That isn’t going to work on me.” Anna swung Gram against them, combining her Sunshine Blade Skill with Twin Cutter and unleashing two slashes with each swing of her sword, quickly cutting down the Banshees to pieces as their phantasmal bodies exploded and dissipated into black smoke!

“Gryyaaaaahh!”

With loud, agonizing screams, the dangerous Banshees died one after another. In just a few seconds, Anna took care of the potentially most dangerous monster due to their abuse of debuffs and status ailments!

Anna quickly stored the magic crystals left behind by the Banshees, alongside small black feathers and tiny blue crystals they also dropped, named Banshees Feathers and Phantasmal Stones.

“A Rank Monsters really give a lot of EXP! This is my opportunity to get as many levels as I can, Violet!” Anna smiled. Although the situation was dire, she couldn’t help but feel like this was an opportunity amidst a disaster she couldn’t miss.

“KYUUH!”

Violet gave a cute squeak as he ran rapidly across the battlefield, swinging his gigantic scythes and unleashing destructive slashes of demonic energy and poison energy, cutting down the small fry rapidly one after another.

“OOOHHH!”

Suddenly, Anna heard a phantasmal scream to her right side, noticing a Lich amidst the Undead, protected by two Death Knights, and summoning several graveyards that kept summoning the C-Rank Undead.

“I see, so Hel can keep producing Undead while not being here, thanks to those bastards.” Anna thought, quickly telling Violet to rush towards the Lich. “Target that one, Violet!”

“KRIEEH!”

Violet immediately rushed at incredible speeds across the undead-filled battlefield, leaving behind a trail of shredded bodies thanks to his sharp scythes mowing down anything that got closer to him while running.

The Lich panicked as it saw the approaching giant bug, commanding the Undead that was wandering around to instantly target her, alongside one of the Death Knights.

“Grooaarrgh!”

The Toxic Zombies and Skeleton Soldiers were now joined by Phantoms that flew around, C-Rank ghost-type Undead, and the Death Knight himself.

“Here they come!” Anna smiled, holding Gram with one hand and the other holding her Frost Wolf Fang dagger, which had been enchanted with the holy light element, perfect to kill Undead.

[The [Lich (A Rank)] has activated the {Song of the Undead} Skill!]

[All Undead below his command have received a boost of +50% to all their Stats!]

“You’re not the only one with an army… Angelic Spirit Knights, attack!”

[The Effects of the [Spartan Army Commander (B Rank Privilege)] have been activated!]

[The {Merciless Army} Buff has been granted to All Allies, increasing Attack and Defense by +25% and Skill Damage Dealt by +20% for as long as the Battle continues.]

Anna ordered her Spirits to attack, as all ten of her majestic Angelic Spirit Knights flew in front of her, clashing against the powered-up Undead!

As this happened, Anna quickly evaded a huge black sword descending from above, as Violet smartly moved to the left before the sword was to reach his master.

CRASH!

The sword hit the floor instead, revealing the one wielding it. The Death Knight, a tall skeleton of over three meters in height wearing pure black armor, appeared, exuding a mighty aura of phantasmal strength.

“Those that oppose Lady Hel shall be blessed with the gift of death!”

“You can talk, huh?"

Anna smiled, confronting the Death Knight as she jumped off Violet and clashed against the Death Knight’s sword! The Undead’s Black Sword overflowed with a dark aura of death, while both of Anna’s weapons unleashed an aura of radiant light. Both opposing forces fought against one another.
