That’s messed up!!

Alice thought as she led Max through the forest, past few moments running in her mind. She is a woman who always follows her instincts and it helped her survive on her own 'til now. But right now she's taking a stranger and a human to that to her village. If village chief were to find that out she 's surely going to be exiled and he's killed.

“How much more need to walk?”

“Shut up, if you complain too much I'm going to leave you behind, remember that!”

The sun has gone down, and night had started to become chilly. For the first time during this whole encounter she noticed her own appearance, she was wearing a pair of green blouse and pants, she was barefooted and had a bow and a quiver with a few arrows still in it, she had her trusted short knife in her thigh holster.

After a few minutes, they reached the boundary of the village. The village is constructed in a circular opening with city hall and food pavilion at its centre and residents all around it, with people with higher status at centre and those with lower at the periphery. Alice's parent home is located at an innermost part of the village since her father is the brother of the village chief and his second in command.

Since she was abandoned by her parents at the age of seven, she had been living in her own house which is situated at the outermost part of the village and may be due to this fact she accepted Max's request. It’s a good opportunity to earn easy money.

They entered the village in silence since she doesn't want her fellow neighbours to notice she is bringing a stranger into the village.

“Get inside this house.”

“You called this a house!”

“It's my home, you can always go away, if you don't to”

The house was basically a tent with two rooms one used as a bedroom and the other as a storage area.

“You made it yourself didn't you?”

“Of course, I did!”

Once inside she told him not to make any noises, as it can alert people who're on patrol duty and left the house to get her wage for today’s work.

The Pleiades village is silent since most of the villagers were either at food pavilion or at home sleeping. There were people patrolling the streets. She entered the elite part of the village, her parent's house was visible from here, their lights are still on.

Sighing to herself, she moves toward city hall, inside the building, which is divided into three sections namely, the reception area, the job board and market. The market sells different goods for daily use such as, clothes, medicine and stationaries, which were made by the villagers.

Alice went to the reception desk, to get her wage and the one sitting behind the desk she saw a familiar face which belongs to Justin Blackwood, who as the name suggests is Alice's elder brother. He lives with his parent and is a top contender to succeed as the village head.

“Oh!, It's you.”

Seeing her, he gave his greetings as usual, which she totally ignored as usual. She proceeded to throw her sag of gathering at him, urging him to move on paying her, which did, he paid her one gold coin and one silver coin.

Then she proceeded to the market section to buy some clothes for Max, which cost her five silver coins. Justin, who saw her buying men's clothes gave her a curious look and called her out just as she was about to step outside.

“For whom, are you buying those clothes?”

“It’s none of your business.”

“Well, last I checked you were my little sister, so it's my business.”

“Oh!, You are an ideal brother, aren't you!!”

“I didn't have any say then but believe me I wanted to stop them”

“But you didn't do anything, did you!”

Saying that she walked out of city hall before Justin can call her out again. Once outside she rubbed tears out of her eyes which were tearing up due to her confrontation with her family.

“Dammit!!”

She cursed herself for being so weak after a few moments passed, she's able to compose herself and headed toward food pavilion.

Food is free for all residents of Pleiades, they can eat as much as they want, they can even take it to home since elf are strongly opposed to waste food, they’re forest dwellers and respect every resource they get from the forest.

She took her share of food and headed to tables, she soon finds an empty one and proceeds towards it. None of the people took note of her as if she was invisible. Anyone rarely talks to her in the village, apart from her brother no one tries to bother her. After taking her meal in total silence, she remembered about Max, who also paid for food, so she took his share with her home.

When she entered her, she saw Max and her pet dog Cuss cuddled together in the corner fast asleep.

“Oye!, Wake up! Here have dinner and change your clothes.”

“Hmmm”

He woke up with a grunt, and quickly was fully awake, which surprises her. He took his dinner also in total silence while she proceeded to her bed.

After dinner, he stood up and stretched and started stripping which flustered her a bit but she regained her composure before he can notice, she suddenly realised the awkwardness of the situation, it is the first time a male is in her house with her (Cuss is a female).

When he turned his back on her, she noticed a weird symbol that covers the entirety of his back. It was a hexagon with six lines that start from the six vertexes of the hexagon and proceeds to converge at a single point at the middle.

“What is this?”

“I don’t know, I got this for two months.”

“How?”

“I told you I don't know, I had amnesia two months ago, so I don't know how I got it.”

“It is weird as hell, you know!”

“No one understands this better than me.”

“Okay, I think we should sleep now”

Nodding he went back to cuss and cuddled with her clearly not wanting to talk much about it. She finally lied on her bed after a wild day that would change her life in many different ways that she never even imagined before and fell asleep.
