Princess Azure’s doll-like face flushed crimson, she cutely stomped her foot on the ground and with a clear high pitched voice claimed,
“Mom! What are you saying!?”
With a proud tilt of her chin and a mischievous smile, she scanned the few kids around her and declared,
“Unfortunately I will never be able to fall in love, not with anyone from my generation, at least. They’re all sooo weak…”
The cute princess dramatically let out a heavy sigh as she shifted her gaze solemnly toward the ceiling, her heterochromatic eyes seemingly riddled with a sense of helplessness. As she spoke, she toyed absently with the pearls hung around her neck. Looking back down at Chronos, she spoke with a confidence in her voice that belied her youthful vibrant exterior,
“It’s not that I don’t want to love,”she continued with a twinkle in her eye. “It’s just that I’ve trained with hundreds of kids and they’re all so… mehh…”
Chronos rolled his eyes, the positive initial impression of this angelic looking beauty shattered almost instantly.
‘What a pity… she’s cute but she’s so stuck up, she probably thinks she invented rainbows’ Chronos mocked in the privacy of his mind.
However, Princess Azure suddenly pounced towards him, her face was twisted in a snarl of fury, her fists clenched tightly at her sides. Chronos remained calm and focused, his movements fluid and graceful as he exchanged blows with the furious princess. He moved with precision and control of a seasoned warrior.
‘Did I accidently say that out loud?’ Chronos thought, befuddled at the sudden attack. But in this split second of distraction, he stumbled, his open palm accidentally connecting the princess’s buttocks in a sharp spank.
The sudden contact stunned them both, the room was silent except for the echoes of the spank. Dashavatara tried his best to stifle a laughter but to no avail, his chuckle resounded just as the echoes of the spank trailed off.
Princess Azure’s eyes widened in surprise then narrowed in anger as she let out a frustrated scream,
“AHH! YOU DUMMIES!!”
Her face turned red with rage and embarrassment, she smacked Chronos’s hand aside as a teal-colored aura began to exude from her body, pulsing with a dangerous energy.
Without warning, the princess launched herself toward the timid Dashavatara. He recoiled in fear as Princess Azure advanced, her aura glowing brighter and more intense with each passing moment.
However, before she could reach her target, Chronos sprang into action. He gracefully burst forward with lightning speed as he intercepted the princess and grabbed her in a firm grip. The princess struggled and fought against his grasp, her aura blazing even brighter in her fury.
“Calm down, you might not be a match for him either…” Chronos whispered to Azure.
Slowly but surely, the teal-colored aura began to fade, and her fist unclenched. But just as Chronos thought she was calming down, Princess Azure suddenly burst into tears! With a pained expression on his face, Chronos held her closer and whispered soothingly into her ear, his voice low and gentle,
“There there, isn’t it exciting to finally be around peers of our own caliber… Let’s all work hard together.”
After a few moments of crying, the princess slowly began to calm down. She looked up at Chronos with tear-streaked cheeks and a trembling lip, her beady eyes glistened like an aggrieved puppy.

Without warning, she suddenly broke free from Chronos’s grasp and ran toward her mother Elder Saintess NuWa, grabbing the skirt of her dress and burying her face in it.
“Namaste, both Azure and Chronos are extremely talented…”
Empress Devi approached gracefully, placing both open palms together as she nodded to the rest of the elders.
The Kailashian Empress was a breathtaking sight to behold. She had a flawless bronze complexion with warm orange-red undertones. Unlike the other sovereigns who possessed a certain regality, overbearing to varying degrees, she exuded a sense of peace and almost otherworldly serenity. She looked like a queen from another era, but her attire told a different story.
The Empress was dressed in a futuristic gown that seemed to glow with an otherworldly energy. The fabric shimmered in the light, revealing a rainbow of colors and patterns that seemed to shift and change with each movement.
On her head, the Empress wore a sleek, metallic tiara that glinted in the light, highlighting her sharp features and striking beauty. Her hair was styled in an intricate braid that cascaded down her back, decorated with delicate jewels and beads.
Hiding meekly behind her was the timid Dashavatara, he gazed wearily toward the direction of Princess Azure before turning to Chronos to let out an innocent smile and a light nod of gratitude.
“HAHAHA Fu Xi little Azure got NuWa’s beauty but definitely your temperament!” King Izanagi let out a hearty laugh as he walked toward the crowd with Princess Tsukuyomi following obediently at his side.
“Tai Sui, ignore the old worm, what do you think about my baby girl? She’s Chronos’s number one fan you know!”
Princess Tsukuyomi’s face turned beet red almost instantly, her cheeks flushing with a deep shade of crimson. She let out a shriek of embarrassment before burying her face in her palms, her fingers digging into her skin as she tried to hide from the gaze of the onlookers.
Suddenly, a faint projection of the moon exuded out of her, glowing with a soft, silvery light that seemed to fill the entire room. The shining orb’s light blue light drew the other kids into a trance-like state. It grew larger and larger, until it exploded out onto the people around her, enveloping them in a haze of shimmering moonlight.
Before they knew it, Chronos and the other royal kids fell into an illusion, their minds adrift in a sea of moonlit dreams. It was only after a few seconds when Chronos jolted awake. Shaking his head, he felt his heart racing but immediately scanned his surroundings.
In his peripheral vision, he saw Princess Tsukuyomi quickly turning and running away towards the exit. The elders were chuckling in amusement while Dashavatara, the Ibeji Twins and Azure stood staring blankly into space.
“Ooo Kekere Chronos sure snapped out of it quickly ~ a strong mind this one has…” Empress Oya of the Yoruba, the adoptive mother of the Ibeji Twins, praised as she conjured a chilly but refreshing wind which blew away the effects of Tsukuyomi’s illusion.
The four kids stumbled, shaken but unharmed, shocked at how easily they were put into a state of trance by the little princess of Onogoro. Out of them, Princess Azure was clearly the most affected, she had always been an undefeated talent amongst the younger generation in Onogoro, but her once invincible reputation shattered in the blink of an eye.
Today she had been defeated consecutively and convincingly so. She couldn’t help but laugh at her own display of groundless pride. A sense of deflation washed over her as she let out a heavy sigh.
Chronos picked up the perceptible shift in her expression and demeanor and walked up to Princess Azure, who was still standing beside Elder Saintess NuWa. With the most charming smile he could muster, he raised his hand to shake Princess Azure’s and said,
“I apologize for earlier, it was an accident… if you want me to take responsibility for it…” Chronos winced as he reluctantly muttered, “ I’ll consider it…”
“HMPH!!”
The deflated Princess Azure clenched her fist, stomped as hard as she could on Chronos’s foot. Her delicate shoe crushed his foot with a sickening crunch.
‘OWWW… This crazy…. Did I say anything wrong??’
Chronos cursed inwardly as he grabbed the aching foot with his hand, hopping around in a frantic dance.
Elder Saint FuXi gazed over with a satisfied grin as Chronos winced in agony, left still hopping around. Elder Saintess NuWa on the other hand, quickly waved her arm elegantly, sending a stream of brownish-green energy particles toward Chronos’s injured foot. As the dimensional energy wrapped around his foot in a warm loving embrace, Chronos immediately felt the pain subsiding.
“My oh my what an eventful day!” Empress Dowager exclaimed cheerfully while letting out a warm smile.
“Oh.. and Izanagi, FuXi, I would love to have both your beautiful daughters as part of the family!”
Her face broke into a wide and radiant smile while Elder Saint FuXi snapped out of his initial sense of satisfaction from his daughter’s response from what he thought were Chronos’s advances.
“Dream on old hag and YOU! Keep your hands off my daughter!” Elder Saint FuXi growled, flexing his bulging muscles. His words echoed out like a shockwave of otherworldly strength as he glared down at Chronos, his eyes flashing with anger.
“Do you know what happens when an egg,” Elder Saint FuXi pointed down straight at Chronos, “gets caught between a rock and a hard place?” He then proceeded to flex noth his bulging biceps, attempting to intimidate Chronos.
“A heart breaks?” Chronos replied with a cheeky smile.
“????” Everyone in the room turned their gazes toward Chronos, their faces riddled with curiosity.
“The mother hen’s heart breaks my dear future father-in-law! HAHAHA” Chronos joked as he quickly fled with his tail between his legs, running as quickly as he could toward the exit.
Of course, Chronos had no serious intentions toward the little princess that he just met. But being a hardened survivor of the slums during his time on Earth, he hated the idea of being threatened and refused to be taken advantage of.
Since there was no way he could even imagine taking the Elder Saint on in a fight, making fun of him would just have to do.
