[ Prince Chronos’s Study Room ]
“ It is important to understand that there is a fundamental difference between psychokinesis and dimensional energy manipulation…”
“Dimensional energy manipulation involves the manipulation of the dimensional energy that naturally stems from a cultivator's being, after channeling it through the body, it can be directed towards a particular goal. This process is highly personal and intuitive, relying on an individual's own awareness and control of their energy. “
“Psychokinesis, on the other hand, involves the harnessing of electromagnetic forces with the mind. It is a more scientific and analytical process, relying on the manipulation of physical forces in the environment rather than one's own energy. It requires a deep understanding of physics and the laws of nature, and a strong control of the mind and its connection to the world around us."
Senior Researcher Dolus continued his lecture, to demonstrate his point, he used a series of equations and 3D diagrams from his holographic projector to show how electromagnetic fields interact with the brain, and how movement of these fields can be used to generate the forces necessary to move objects.
“Chronos, can you explain the difference between controlling a projectile with dimensional energy versus electromagnetic energy in combat?”
“Using the calculation matrix in your research paper, the fundamental difference is efficiency and speed, dimensional energy manipulation requires channeling within the body and then projecting it outward on a desired object whereas psychokinesis involves creating a near instantaneous connection between the electromagnetic fields of a person’s mind with the object..”
Chronos analyzed, now making sense of why TaoTie’s projectile manipulation speed increased so much after being provoked.
“Also, the separation of powers used allows a cultivator to better multitask and more efficiently ration their dimensional energy reserves…”
Dolus nodded his head in approval, then turned to his Grand Nephew,
“What do you think TaoTie?”
“I… agree…?” Tao Tie replied absentmindedly.
“Chronos I’d like you to write a summary of the main points of the lecture and your opinions of the study of Psychokinesis,” Dolus instructed, completely ignoring his disciple.
“Sure, TaoTie, could you lend me your Document Pad for a moment?”
Chronos took TaoTie’s Document Pad before he could reply and placed it side by side to his own. He took out an extra pen, brandished one in each hand and started writing on both Document Pads at the same time.
One of the things Chronos had trained insistently these 3 years was the ability to be ambidextrous and this was but another opportunity to test his own proficiency.
The granduncle and nephew pair glanced at each other briefly before gazing at Chronos. At this point, they had already started to get used to the plethora of surprises this talented prince would sporadically rub in their faces.
“So what do you think of the field of psychokinesis?” Dolus queried the prince as he continued to scribble on.
Without even looking up, Chronos replied,
“It’s amazing, it's an entirely new subsection of cultivation, I’m sure there have been humans in history that have intuitively stumbled onto it but to actually put it into quantifiable written theory…”
The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
“Hmph… Of course! My research will revolutionize the future generations of the Empire of Astral!” Dolus cut in proudly.
“Hmm… However, your calculation matrix might still be able to be further improved though…”
“What did you say?!” Dolus frowned in annoyance, he was an erratic genius who regarded his research to be the pride of his existence. He could not help but feel like he was being insulted.
Ignoring Dolus’s look of displeasure, Chronos replied calmly,
“There is one factor that you might have overlooked,..”
“Impossible…”
“ What about the energy loss through friction and heat created when dimensional energy travels outside a being’s natural form?”
Chronos asked curiously.
Dolus opened his mouth to rebut but the thread eluded him. He quickly snatched both Document Pads and quickly scanned them.
He then started to mutter to himself,
“Does dimensional energy create friction? Does electromagnetic force create friction? What is the relationship between the two? Can the two be combined? How would they interact? What are the effects of the synergy….?”
As Senior Researcher Dolus rambled on to himself pacing back and force all jerky and erratic, Tao Tie reached over and whispered,
“We’ve totally lost him, in a few seconds he’ll start making his way back to his lab, add me on your Comms Watch before I have to chase after him.”
The two boys tapped their Comms watches against one another and approved their friends' requests.
“Let’s catch up later in the week and hang out…” Chronos extended an invitation with a smile.
TaoTie’s eyes brightened as he nodded excitedly, it was perceptible that he had not many friends himself, they were after all only 3 years old and well shielded geniuses of their own families. As expected, Dolus soon walked off and rushed absentmindedly,
“Lessons over, let's head back to the lab!”
With an awkward smile, TaoTie waved his new friend goodbye and started chasing his Grand Uncle.
Chronos let out a helpless smile and proceeded to close his eyes to consolidate what he had learnt today. Senior Dolus’s research was in its infancy but it was a new approach toward projectile manipulation that Chronos saw a lot of potential in.
As Chronos was deep in thought,
Buzz… Buzz… Buzz…
His Comms watch once again started buzzing. With a light tap, Sophia’s 3D holographic projection materialized once again.
“How was your lesson? I hope Dolus wasn’t too out of line… He’s one of those erratic geniuses with no care for social niceties… It was quite a miracle I managed to drag him out of his lab in the first place…” Sophia asked full of concern.
“Hahaha, the lesson went great… Thank you Sophia, it really opened my eyes to an entirely new path of cultivation, plus I made friends with his grandnephew and he left with an eureka moment… so all in all things went great!” Chronos assured his loving sister.
“Good Good, Oh… If you’d like, I’d be having lunch in the Astral Business District in an hour. If you’d like to join me I can get Hathor to arrange transportation.”
Chronos pondered over it for a moment before quickly agreeing, even though he had been in this world for 3 years already, he hadn’t really had the opportunity of leaving the castle grounds. Amidst his packed studying schedule, dimensional energy manipulation practice, ambidextrous training and combat simulations, there was not really much time to do anything else.

Aion City - Astral Business District
[ Royal Astral Sisters’ Gourmet ]
The Royal Chariot stopped at the entrance of a lavish looking restaurant with effortless grace. It was a hover vehicle that was a masterpiece of decadence and luxury, the pinnacle of design and engineering in this futuristic world.
It was gleaming silver and black, with sleek curves and sharp angles that gave it an almost predatory look. Its body was polished to a high shine, reflecting the lights of the cityscape like a mirror.
The vehicle's doors swung open, revealing a plush interior that was fit for a king. The seats were upholstered in the softest leather, with deep cushions that cradled the body in luxurious comfort. The air inside was perfumed with the heady scent of exotic flowers, and the soft glow of mood lighting bathed everything in a warm, welcoming glow.
The prince stepped out and strode confidently toward the doors of the up-scale restaurant. He was dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, his royal insignia glinting on the lapel. Looking up at the restaurant's signage which said “ Royal Astral Sisters Gourmet”, Chronos let out a light chuckle, it was obvious that eldest sister Athena had been the one to name the restaurant.
An attractive stewardess was already standing by the restaurant's entrance, awaiting the prince’s arrival. The stewardess of the lavish futuristic restaurant was the very embodiment of grace and poise, her every movement exuding an air of effortless elegance. She was dressed in a sleek black uniform, her hair pulled back in a smooth bun, and her posture was perfect.
As the prince approached, she greeted him with an Astralian salute, her eyes sparkling with a quiet intelligence. She led him through the bustling restaurant, her steps silent on the polished concrete floor, and gestured towards a private booth in the back.
The booth was a marvel of technology and luxury, with walls made of a transparent material that gave a panoramic view of the city outside. The table was set with gleaming silverware and crystal glasses, and the chairs were upholstered in the softest leather, their contours perfectly suited to the human form.
As the stewardess pulled out the prince's chair, he could not help but marvel at the level of attention to detail that had gone into the design of the booth. Everything was so sleek and polished, so perfectly arranged, that it was almost too much to take in at once.
The stewardess presented the menu with a flourish, and the prince perused it with interest, marveling at the range of exotic dishes and rare wines on offer.
“ Do take a look at our menu, Princess Sophia will be arriving at any minute,”
The stewardess once again gave an Astralian salute before slowly but gracefully back-stepping out of the booth.
