Vincent immediately turned and began walking to the changing building, offering, “Stay right here while I go grab something.”
Vincent entered the cinderblock building and returned moments later carrying a pile of what looked like white canvases and sticks.
He returned to his place in front of the students and dropped the pile to the ground.
Vincent grabbed a small bunch of them from the ground and began waking around the field stabbing the structures into the ground.
As he kept walking, the canvas began unfurling and formed a cone that went to the ground.
Vincent continued stabbing the structures into the ground, saying, "Considering all of you are currently transformed and we don't want this to take all day changing clothes, these tents will serve as a visual block so you can practice controlling the transformation. I'll be moving through the rows to help you all get the hang of it."
Vincent had filled the field with around twenty of the tents when he went back to the changing hut likely to grab more.
He returned moments later and dumped a similarly sized pile on the ground once again. Vincent spoke again saying, "Some of you go ahead and start entering the tents while I set the rest up."
"There's a head hole in each and you'll be able to adjust them to your height preference from inside. You should be able to shift back and not have to worry about anyone else seeing you."
The birds near Arthur flew into the nearby tents. Arthur watched as Tom flew to one in the corner and decided he would take the tent adjacent to Tom.
Flying in from the top, Arthur landed in the soft grass.
He looked up from where he had just entered and was struck once again by how strange scale felt while he was in the form of a bird. At his current size, it felt like he was in a massive room.
Arthur looked down to his wing and plucked the largest feather with his beak.
A minute later, Arthur felt much more constricted by the white canvas around him along with the central pole he now had to balance around.
He noticed the adjustable section on the wood where he could change the height to his preference.
Getting into a squatted position, Arthur raised the tent structure a few inches so he would have enough space to stand and stuck his tent out to the top to see check how Tom and the other students were doing.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Tom's head was already sticking out from the tent and staring toward his direction when Arthur emerged to the outside world.
"You look funny," Tom said.
Arthur looked down at himself as only a cone that ended in his head. He panned his head side to side, seeing the other students similarly looking around and chatting about how weird the tents looked.
"Right back at you dude."
Vincent's voice silenced the student's chatter, "All the tents should be set up now. I went ahead and added some larger ones for students with larger transformations. Go ahead and enter a tent if you haven't already and turn back to your normal forms."
He continued saying, "Now, as much as I enjoy how silly all of you look in the tents, our goal here is to give you all a new training tool. Each of you will be trying to isolate the transformation and prevent it from fully shifting you into animal form."
"Once you get more comfortable with this technique, you'll be able to isolate limbs and parts of your animal forms that have traits you want to further develop."
"I also want to warn you all to be careful with what changes you implement into your own bodies. While whole body transformation will take a very long time to have any significant effect on your normal body, transforming only the very tip of my pinky could result in some skin changes over a few weeks to months if I'm not careful."
"This can be a very useful training tool but also unhelpful if you accidentally impart an unwelcome change to your human forms."
"It won't matter in the short term, but I highly encourage you all to research all of your animal forms for desirable traits. In fact, that research is going to be your first assignment in my class. I expect a two page report on one of your animal forms by the end of the week with at least four different beneficial traits and how they'd prove useful."
Arthur figured better sight would be useful from his avian form. He wondered how much his sense of smell would improve if he trained only the receptors in his nose.
"All of you go ahead now and begin transforming back and forth as quickly as possible. Just keep switching until I say to stop."
Arthur did as instructed, biting his finger and inserting the feather into the bead of blood. He was surprised how little he had to bite down to draw blood. His finger was still
He quickly found himself staring up from the ground once again. Once fully transformed, Arthur plucked the same feather and began shifting back.
"The rapid shifting back and forth is meant to help you all get a feel for the transformation spreading over your bodies. Where it starts, how it flows, the timing of everything."
"Pay special attention to how it feels when the transformation begins. Almost all of you start the transformation from a finger or your hands. What is occurring at that spot as your blood comes in contact with whatever you're using to focus the transformation."
Arthur was human once again. His finger was still bleeding slightly so he simply squeezed it between his fingers and pushed the feather into the welling drop of blood.
"Focus your breathing and feel the changes every way you can. Close your eyes and simply let the feeling flow over you."
Vincent left them in relative silence outside of occasional comments about focusing their breathing or feeling the exact moment they started shifting.
Arthur had switched a total of six times when Vincent finally spoke up again, "That's enough switching back and forth. Now let's try stopping the transformation."
