Chapter 9: Who is Prime?

Chapter 9: Who is Prime?

“So you’re telling me, the four of them got into an all-out fight, why would Commander Zi and Miss Zulu even fight anyway.” Madam Bourget interrogated closely.

“Well it does make sense, Commander Zi messed up on her turf and broke her rules, before you came disputes like this came all over, like what happened with the Section One leader and the old Section..”

“7 leaders I know.” Madam Bourget interrupted, glaring at Prime.

Prime backed himself off, putting his hands in the pocket. The entire complex where Miss Zulu resided was crushed by the surrounding buildings. Madam Bourget tried endlessly to see Commander Zi but by the other’s words, he was already long far gone. Miss Zulu had disappeared along with Joshua but most likely she could've been incinerated in the blast and gunfire.

A gunfight had started a while before too, with revolution members firing upon Section 6 officers. Many lost their lives, but only on the humanitarian side as Madam Bourget would call it.

She looked around her, shrapnel pieces across the floor. Drones were crushed on the floor and some beeped with light being picked up in plastic bags for surveillance. Madam Bourget looked at the footsteps on the concrete but with no long. Every step was either by an ally or jumbled up so hard you couldn't even differentiate who was who.

Her eyes scanned the area, and objects and pieces of armor were examined thoroughly by her eyes. The same results popped every time, only the material(Carboni) and the information about the captured or documented reptiles were shown.

No step of Joshua was seen, even after interrogating survivors all they said was they were in a gunfight and suddenly Prime had hopped in, and his energy was scary enough to where the fighters retreated, they had gotten their goal anyway, in one quick attack they killed two commanders, positions that would be hard to replace, but more importantly fill the impact they made.

“By the looks of it Prime is going to become commander,” Lieutenant C said.

“I'm not sure, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did not accept the position.” Madam Bourget replied.

A confused C followed back with “Why?”

Madam Bourget looked back at him with her other eye, her lips snarled once more but she remained calm, she hated people who asked why a lot, especially during a mission. She picked up a piece of metal and kept it close to her eye.

“Back in the University, he was like Me and Zi, young prodigies that were expected to become the next three strongest, but as you may know we do get our name, “The Failed Generation.”, to the people Section 2 commander, Commander Pohl, and” Madam Bourget paused for a moment, “My father were unbeatable forces of nature, and we didn’t live up to those expectations.”

Lieutenant C refrained from asking more questions, but as he walked away Madam Bourget called for him.

“C, I know you want to ask more, so I’ll say this, Prime was strong enough to command section 6 if he wanted, to make it better, but he is a weird guy and he always rejected the offer, and now that Zi and Zulu is killed I don't even know if Pohl will let him off the hook.” Madam Bourget explained.

They didn't talk for a moment, as they analyzed the ground for a trance of evidence that could work with them.

“I would like to say I'm sorry for these incidents, on behalf of my people.” Lieutenant C apologized hesitantly

“Oh you don't have to,” Madam Bourget laughed, “Zi was a dickhead, ever since Academy days too, always a weird one that guy, this city will be a better place without his ass being here.”

Lieutenant C smiled, before smacking himself keeping a straight face in the manner, and walking away. He also reflected on his academy days, instead of hiding his abilities he was always open to doing so, and he was used, infiltrating, attacking, but he could never rank up, only to be the closest to Madam Bourget right handman or second in command or whatever you want to call it.

He looked at the burn marks on the floor, but a single strand of a glowing gold gem caught his eye. His hand was drawn towards it, his palm grasping the energy and suddenly an urge to bite it shook over him.

Throwing it on the floor he stood up and waved for Madam Bourget to come over.

“What did you find?” Madam Bourget questioned.

“A healing crystal, still fresh, and active, that means its user is in the vicinity.”

They looked at each other for a split second and both proceeded to say the same thing.

“He's in the vicinity.”

In a matter of minutes snipers laid on the roof, foot soldiers searched alleyways, and grabbed civilians and onlookers, asking them where Joshua could be. Some opened the sewer entrances, and popped their flashlights in there, in an attempt to see if they could draw him out.

Madam Bourget held the gem in a closed container, prime flew back on his metal chair and Lieutenant C watched closely at the gem's energy.

“He’s most likely gone, even if you think he’s in the vicinity he could be anywhere, maybe it's somebody else’s,” Prime spoke.

“Who else could hold a high-grade Healing gem not any of our soldiers.” Madam Bourget argued.

“You never know what some could be capable of.” He said, his expression a sudden bland.

Everyone sat silently, guns were grabbed and cocked and visor gear was worn to see if any heat signals were going to appear. The planet of Vision and its sun slowly looked down, leaving the sky and darkness started to enter.

“It’s turning dark, and soon the gem will expire, where could he be?” Madam Bourget nervously said, pacing herself in circles.

Lieutenant C looked on, in thought of his talks with Joshua, he acted like he hated humans, even though he hated reptiles he acted like he was not who he truly was, and maybe that wouldn't work on a man like him, but it didn't matter since there was no way for him to talk to Joshua after betraying him.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

He looked at Madam Bourget's robotic fingers and felt guilty for what happened. He messed up, really badly but he could never shoot someone else while their back was turned, but he choked the situation, he, Bourget, and Pohl even knew it.

Madam Bourget's mechanical finger tapped heavily on the glass table, the gem encased closely, the lightness of the gem slowly began to close as the sun slowly descended from the sky and the planet’s silhouette started to disappear.

Madam Bourget smashed all the equipment on the floor, kicking down the chairs. Lieutenant C started to stand but he was blocked by Prime’s arm, as he smiled watching her panic and become enraged at everything around her.

“She’ll kill you if you get close, let her release that anger, better for us.”

“But this does not help the mission.”

“Screw the mission, it doesn't mean shit anyway, I just want to get home. Gotta do the dishes, play a few games, and go to sleep,” Prime yawned.

C was surprised by how unserious he was, he did not care about this work or its importance, but yet he was one of the New Gen 3 of Caldera. C looked at Madam Bourget also, her anger turned into heavy breaths and her hair had become undone, frizzy, crazy, and scary.

“The gem is turned off, sunset happened, call off the forces, and we’ll find him another day.” Madam Bourget surrendered.

Well, my day is over.” Prime smiled, he walked away before being grabbed and tossed to the desk.

Madam Bourget looked at him with a cold expression, instead of anger, she was saddened by his actions now. Lieutenant C grabbed his pistol quickly and pointed it at the both of them, panting himself wondering what should be the next move.

“Such a waste.” She insulted

“Please get your hands off me.” Prime politely requested.

“Only if that knife in your foot doesn’t strike.”

C watched the foot and suddenly noticed the glistening object in the front of his shoe, millimeters away from her head as it stretched from the floor. Madam Bourget let him go and Prime looked saddened at his messed up suit.

“I don’t get it, your abilities wasted in your position, luckily enough now you’re going to be the Section 6 leader soon, and you now must have responsibilities.” Madam Bourget inquired.

“Well I don't care, just wanna get home and relax.” He said, bumping into her metal arm as he walked out of the tent.

He waved his hand to all the soldiers and they nodded in approval, walking away and packing their items, entering their trucks, and leaving the red-light district.

The trucks beeped as they rolled on the dirt roads, wind slashed through the air. Madam Bourget and Lieutenant C waved to Prime as he walked away, perhaps to his car.

The car automatically turned on and a virtual screen was shown, and virtual pads were reflected throughout the entire interior.

“Where would you like to go?” The car asked.

“Office.” Madam Bourget replied.

A beep noise was heard and the car started automatically and drove on the road, taking turns to move away from the ditches and holes.

“Madam Bourget, how does it feel to be alone in this solar system, just this planet if you don't mind me asking.” Lieutenant C inquired.

Madam Bourget stayed silent for a minute, C did not dare to retract his question as she seemed to be in deep thought.

“It doesn't matter.” she finally said “We are an important hub on the edge of the galaxy, and we keep the border between us and The Kingship safe.”

“What is The Kingship like.” C continued, she had calmed down and now C felt safer to ask these questions.

“You real curious huh.” Bourget replied, “But you ask good questions, The Kingship is horrible, everybody worships the king and his clans below, it's like a major cult if you could think about it that way.”

“Like the Crimsons.”

“Kind of, weird beliefs, but they’re strong, way stronger for us to deal with it, last time an empire had a problem with them was 2300 years ago, and they were annihilated.”

“But Joshua never seemed to act like that frugal, but you seemed to have known Joshua more than me from those trips in The Kingship that you took when you were younger”

Madam Bourget smiled, “He was arrogant, prideful, and an overall dick, but he was a loyal soldier to Jim-Suttur, like all the other dickhead children there so it was especially surprising to learn of this sudden betrayal.” His image popped into her head, he was a crafty boy and she was so satisfied to have given him a mark on his face.

She remembered the moment when her arm met his eye, sharp and ready to kill, he looked up at her angered and embarrassed, his silky golden hair fought to keep itself down, but now, he embarrassed her, and based on what he had done, he had gotten dangerously strong very quickly.

Something did confuse her, Bourget was 19 years old and Joshua was three years younger but he looked older than her, around his mid-20s, a jump like that was unexplainable, but then a realization occurred over her.

“Do you hate him?” C continued, not knowing about her realization.

Madam Bourget side-eyed him, but her eyes continued to focus on the road ahead.

“No, not really.” She answered truthfully. “But now, now I know how to stop him, so as a matter of fact,” She smiled “Maybe I must hate him now, but hate is a strong word isn't it.”

Madam Bourget leaned in and the two kissed, yet Lieutenant C felt scared and his hands shook on the edge of the wall.

Prime walked down the road, waving away from the car holding Bourget and C. Once their car drove off he strutted, whistling to himself as he unlocked his vehicle, a floating car.

He whistled to a nice tune, snapping his fingers and creating a simplistic beat. Once his hand touched the handle, the wind behind him rushed as his sunglasses flew off, revealing an enormous scar from his forehead to his chin. The scar was only hidden by his sunglasses which could cover anything and change appearance at use.

Prime crouched down and picked up his sunglasses but then a hissing noise was heard behind him, and claws digging into the concrete hurt his ear.

“Where is he?” Prime ordered, rubbing the sand off his glasses.

The creature's tongue hissed even louder, “He is in the backseat of the vehicle, with two of our members, they have restrained him with a golden rope but it seems he has awakened.” The creature replied, crouching down on his knees.

Prime’s eyes awakened as its reptilian form appeared, he looked down with his one black eye at the creature that sweated at his presence.

“Good job, today was a great day for the revolution, one step into greatness for us.” He smiled.

He opened the door and entered into the seat, turning the rear-view mirror to look at Joshua being held by golden ropes in the backseat, staring at him. Prime smiled looking at him before commencing his conversation.
