Enchanted Companion II

To my right, Neko-chan alerted me, "Watch out, Amy!" I quickly aimed and pulled the trigger, the gunshot echoing through the air. "These monsters are such a hassle! They can use magic attacks!"

We were in the midst of a fierce battle with the creatures that possessed fire elemental abilities. The air crackles with energy as the creatures release their fire elemental attacks. The flames dance in the darkness, illuminating the scene with a warm glow, creating eerie shadows on the rocky surfaces. They looked like squirrel-like creatures, but their viciousness was far beyond what we had encountered before. They had launched a surprise attack on our camp, but thanks to Evan's barrier, we were able to hold our ground. The terrain is uneven and rocky, with tall cliffs and boulders scattered around, providing ample hiding spots for the monsters to ambush from. The ground is a mix of loose gravel and hard-packed dirt, making footing a bit tricky for me to move.

Elara, with her bow in hand, fired arrow after arrow at the relentless monsters. Her aim was precise, and she shouted, "Be careful, everyone!"

Evan, not to be outdone, unleashed his Azure Blade, with a swift movement of his hand, the blade struck down the monster.

As the monsters closed in on us from all sides, Evan focused his magic, summoning a spike of ice from the ground with a massive area-of-effect. The spikes erupted all around us, catching the monsters off guard and impaling them with magic attacks. It was an impressive display of his skills as a wizard.

Evan let out a breath, his excitement still palpable. "Phew, that was something," he said, chuckling. "It felt like a scene straight out of an intense RPG battle!"

I couldn't help but laugh along with him "You're right..." I agreed, feeling a mix of exhilaration and relief.

I glanced around at our group, checking to see if anyone was hurt. "Is everyone okay? Anyone injured?" I asked, concerned in my voice. The last thing we needed was someone getting hurt during this intense encounter.

Elara, her bow still at the ready, shook her head. "I'm fine, just a bit tired," she replied, her eyes scanning the area for any other potential threats.

Alex and Marcus, who had been using their skills to protect us during the battle, nodded in agreement. "We're good," Alex said, his spear still in hand.

Evan, ever the calm and collected one, assured us, "I'm fine as well. Just a bit drained from using my magic, but nothing serious."

Neko, perched on Evan's shoulder, gave a small meow, as if to say she was perfectly fine too.

As we all caught our breath, a sudden movement caught my eye. A massive wolf appeared in front of the barrier, its intense gaze locking onto mine. It was unlike any other creature we had encountered so far, its size and demeanor hinting at its strength and intelligence.

The wolf's eyes seemed to hold a strange mixture of curiosity and caution, as if it were assessing us. The majestic wolf began to speak, "Your Majesty, I can smell the scent of my descendants from you," he said.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

I was taken aback, and for a moment, my hand instinctively touched the crown atop my head. The Crown Dominion must have been triggered during the battle.

As if that wasn't astonishing enough, my realization deepened. A talking wolf? Ah... a Fenrir I never imagined such a thing was possible. Yet, here he was, before me, communicating in a way that only the most magical and mysterious creatures could.

"Smell?" I asked, puzzled. Suddenly, a vivid memory of Java and Linux flashed in my mind. Ah, that must be it. The big Fenrir sensed the lingering scent of the two small Fenrir who now lived with us. I quickly explained, "A month ago, I came across two small Fenrir, one white and one grey, under attack by a Rathefang. I saved them and brought them back to live with us. Are you, their family?"

The majestic wolf nodded approvingly, his eyes filled with a mix of relief and gratitude. "Yes, I am. I am the alpha of their pack, and I thank you for saving them, Your Majesty," he replied, his voice resonating with a sense of pride and protectiveness.

I felt a surge of excitement and wonder, realizing that I was face to face with the leader of Java and Linux's pack. It was an extraordinary encounter. "Java and Linux have become part of our family, but you can come and take them after we completed the quest."

"I can see that you care for them deeply. I trust that they are in good hands with you and your companions," he said, his voice filled with reassurance.

"I will take that offer to see them," he said with a nod, his eyes reflecting a mix of curiosity and excitement. "Let me accompany you on the quest, your majesty."

I smiled warmly at Fenrir, feeling grateful for his willingness to join us. "Oh, okay," I replied, trying to hide my surprise at the idea of having a Fenrir as part of our party. But then again, this was a world where magical creatures and incredible beings existed, so perhaps it shouldn't have been such a shock.

With his agreement, the Fenrir became one additional member of our questing party. I introduced him to Elara, Evan, and the rest of the group, and soon enough, he had seamlessly become a valued companion. His presence brought a sense of strength and wisdom, and it was clear that we could learn much from him.

As we journeyed further towards the mountain, the Fenrir shared with us a moving story. Tragedy struck one fateful day, as a devastating calamity befell his pack. The entire pack was decimated, The Fenrir had been tracking a female Fenrir who managed to escape during the tragic incident that befell their pack. However, I clarified that we had only encountered the two small Fenrirs and hadn't come across the pregnant female he was searching for. He also revealed that he didn't have a name.

We reached the cave entrance; I instructed Midnight to stay outside. But much to my surprise, Midnight didn't listen and instead transformed into a small, adorable size like Neko, earning praises from Evan. "Wow, Midnight, you've got some cool skills!" Evan exclaimed.

Ventured deep into the cave, Neko used her Luminous Aura skill to illuminate our path. Elara suggested we start mining, but I had a different plan in mind. Opening my HUD, I selected the mine device option, and a holographic projection of the machine appeared before us. It would take 15 minutes to complete the mining process. Evan immediately set up barriers around the machine to protect it.

Alex and Marcus were astonished, exclaiming, "This is epic! A machine that does the mining? Hahaha, it's not your common mining activity." Neko offered to prepare brunch for us, and I nodded gratefully. The Fenrir asked if the mining machine was my magic, and I simply smiled in response.

Since we had been slaying monsters on our quest, I was able to use the 2000 gemstones to purchase the mine device. It was a remarkable and efficient way to obtain the ores we needed for our quest.

I wandered around the cave with Fenrir accompanying me. He seemed curious and asked, "Your Majesty, are you sure there's ore in this cave?" I chuckled and replied, "Ah, yes, but Mr. Fenrir, stop calling me Your Majesty. Just call me Amy." Fenrir hesitated but eventually said, "Yes, your... I mean, yes, Amy."

I struck up a conversation with Fenrir, asking, "How have you managed to survive in this barren land?" He revealed that the barren land was once a beautiful sanctuary, but it turned desolate due to a mythical phenomenon. Fenrir continued, "There were mythical guardians who protected the sanctuary, but one day, they vanished, and the place turned into this barren wasteland." I was intrigued and asked, "Mythical guardians?”

I stood in front of an ice stupa, and amid the frozen structure, there was a rock that appeared to be shaped like a human figure. Out of curiosity, I reached out and touched the rock, and to my surprise, it vibrated and began to crack, emitting a radiant light. Suddenly, a breathtakingly beautiful woman emerged from the rock. She had flowing white hair and mesmerizing golden eyes. She cried out with excitement, "My king! My love!" In that moment of surprise, she wrapped her arms around me in a tight embrace. Caught off guard, I quickly raised my hand and said, "Wait... wait...!!!!"
