As they rested, Shadow remained alert...his eyes focused on Hunter.

Seemed like he'd been awake for hours, as he continuously stared at the boy. Suddenly, he felt a nudge on his shoulder. He turned his head and there stood Howl.

Shadow nodded and walked over to his sister. He decided to remain in his black wolf form. He rested his head on his paws.

Rose stirs and looks at him. "Not going to change?" She whispers. He looked at her.

"No, I'm not."

Rose nodded her head. "You going to be like this all the time?"

"Only for now." He replied, and didn't say any more after than. He turned his head, his back turned to her. Howl may be watching, but he needed to peek. He eventually closed his eyes and fell asleep.
