Approach of the Hooded Man

Approach of the Hooded Man

As the man with the hood approached Marw, he suddenly grabbed Marw’s arm and dragged his towards the counter. “Wait...what? Wait, stop it!” Marw shouted as he struggled, trying to get out of the hooded man’s grip, but his strength was too big and overwhelmed Marw’s.

As Marw still tried to struggle, the hooded man walked up to the manager and said while holding a badge with 8 stars on it, “Excuse me, I’m from the ministry of magic and I’m sorry to tell you that you have been cheating on our customers by giving them a minimal amount of exchange.”

“Hah? When did I do that.” The manager lied with a confused looking face.

“Well, you just did it to this foreigner boy over here.”

“Do you have proof?”

“Yeah, over in my head. I just mind read your thoughts.”

“But that does not mean you have it now.”

“Oh, I forgot to tell you. I already sent the piece that I recorded in my mind to the ministry. If you still don’t confess that you did it, your time in jail will be longer once sent to the kingdom government.”

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

“Shit! I got spotted, this damn high-level magic-user, and he even is an 8-star. Looks like he knew I was tricking him.” The manager thought in her mind, filled with worries.

“Looks like you have confessed your crimes in your mind. I have sent the recorded thoughts to the ministry. Looks like you have to come with me.”

The manager looked down and had to follow the man because she was exposed.

“Ummm… sir, what’s your name?” Marw said while reaching his hand out to the hooded man.

When the man turned toward Marw and looked at him, Marw slowly put his hand down.

“Oh, me?”

“Yeah.”

The man then put his mouth right next to Marw’s ear and whispered, “My name is Brayden, an 8-star wizard from the ministry of magic, don’t tell anyone that you saw me. Besides, you sure do look like an old friend of mine who was a swordsman.”

“I won’t tell anyone,” Marw said with a determined voice.

“Ah, your face just now makes me feel nostalgic.”

As the man walked to the door, Marw suddenly said, “Is that the swordman you speak of named Jonas Hoeraidd?”

“Wait...How do you know?”

“He actually is my dad. My name is Marw Hoeraidd…”
