The Northern Winds Prologue

Raspberry was walking towards the meeting hall of the central palace. She was annoyed that they were already having another meeting today.

*The last one was what, two hours ago? Why do we have to have so many? This is the fifth one today.*

A bit later after the meeting Raspberry is annoyed and a bit angry, *Great, now I gotta go fly to the Bush Kingdom and try to convince them to ally with us. Hopefully this alliance will deter the Mineralwings and stop a war between us and the Mineralwings. I’ve also got to try and run my part of the kingdom while I’m away. At least I don’t have to see the mess that’s about to unfold between Comrade and K2, since both think the other took out Sulfur so that they had more power.* Raspberry thought as she prepared to fly off to the Bush Kingdom.

*Hopefully they don’t see me as a traitor.*

“Everyone know the mission?” “Sir, yes sir.” “Good. Now execute it.”

“Commander, there’s the target.” said Uranium pointing to a large hulking dragon in a mountain valley that they were flying over.

“Woah, the target’s a peakwing? Rare to see them down this low.” said Diamond, the commander leading this mission. They flew down quietly and landed in the trees that were around the valley.

“Chicksaw, can you hit him from here?”Diamond asked.

“Sure thing boss,” Chicksaw replied.

Chicksaw crept closer to the ends of the branches and with a huck of his spear the Peakwing roared in pain before falling over and going silent.

“Good job men. That’s another one down.” said Diamond.

“This is unacceptable” screamed K2, one of my top generals just died and I know it was you Comrade” she said pointing to him.

“It wasn’t me” he replied defensively, “and shouldn’t we wait till Raspberry and Sulfur get back to discuss this matter. Maybe one of them knows something?”

“No this matter cannot wait, because Sulfur isn’t returning and why did we send Raspberry to deal with the Bushwings? They’ll probably see her as a traitor. We should just prepare for her funeral now.” K2 said.

“It’ll be fine. She knows how to handle herself and I kinda feel sorry for any dragon that has to be on the receiving end of one of her attacks” Canadian Bacon said.

“How about we wait till they’re both back and then we sort this matter out?” asked Canadian Bacon. “Fine by me” Comrade said.

“No, we solve this matter now. King Comrade of the Ramwing State, war is declared upon you by the Peakwings and their Queen K2.” K2 said.

“Now hold on-” started Canadian Bacon before Comrade cut him off.

“No, no, she declared a war on us and if it’s a war she wants, it’s a war she’ll get” Comrade said before both flew off to prepare their soldiers for the upcoming battles.

“Wait!” shouted Tidal, “Maybe we can work something out or you can at least tell me what he did?” pleaded Tidal.

“Fine, I guess I can, seeing as how he’s going to need to be patched up or he might not make it” said the dragon.

“Don’t trust him” whispered Gull weakly. They went inside of the clinic and the dragon started to tell his story as Tidal patched up Gull.

“This dragon has wronged me and needs to be punished.” the dragon said.

“What did he do to deserve this punishment and what is the punishment?” questioned Tidal.

“He broke off one of my back spines and kept it.” the dragon replied.

“What’s so special about your back spines?” Tidal asked, still tending to Gull.

“This” replied the dragon and Tidal looked back to see the dragon turning around and revealing that he had these weirdly shaped yellow back spines.

“What are those?” Tidal asked pointing to the dragons back spines, astonished by them.

“Crystals, that I assume this dragon here thought was gold and planned on stealing it and selling them, thinking that they were gold” the dragon said.

“How on earth did he steal them without you noticing?” Tidal asked.

“I was sleeping and he thought I was a rock.” the dragon said. He curled up and all Tidal saw was a rock, not a dragon, just a rock with crystals jutting out of it.

“What, what are you?” Tidal asked.

“Whoops did I not introduce myself? The name’s Sulfur, and I’m a Mineralwing.”
