“Canyon do you think your siblings would wanna go?” I ask. It had been a few days since we had buried Fives. It was hard on me to lose a friend I’ve known for years now but alas things do come to an end and all we can do is remember them or let them fade. I’m not gonna let Fives fade.
“Depends if Fireball is going. If he’s going then I’m going and if I’m going then my sibs are gonna go too. We live as a pack.”
“Alright then that’s seven dragons now. Anyone else have any friends they wanna take along on this trip?” I ask my group of mostly friends.
“What about Turkey and Chicken?” asks Fireball.
“Of course we should ask them” I say facepalming, “How could I forget about those two?”
“Should we ask Beaver?” I hear Canyon say.
I breathe in sharply. How do I put this, Beaver is a wild card to say the least. She does whatever she wants and she’s an assassin even though she won’t admit it. How Canyon is friends with her I have no idea. “Do you wanna ask her?” I ask Canyon, really hoping she does.
“Sure, I’ll go get her while you guys get Turkey and Chicken.” she says before flying off.
“Time to go find Turkey and Chicken!” Fireball says enthusiastically.
“Great more dragons to drag along.” we hear Sulfur mumble but we ignore him and take off to go find Chicken and Turkey.
It was pretty easy to find them and even easier to convince them to come with us. We landed back at the same spot and Canyon was already her with Beaver and her siblings behind her. There was also another dragon who I didn’t recognize, he was purple and kinda looked like a mudwing but with rainwing features.
“Who is that?” I ask.
“A friend of mine, who’ll be coming along. I’m also bringing another friend.” says Beaver.
“Fine.” I say, knowing it’s best not to argue with her because once her mind is made up, it’s made up.
“Where’s your other friend?” I ask, curious.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
“Right here.” she says stepping out of the way so I can see a skywing, wait I know that face.
“Torque?” I ask nervously.
“That’s right, it's me! Miss me?” he asks angrily.
“You two have history together?” Beaver asks.
“Unfortunately.” says Torque.
“I’m sure we can mend our differences on this journey though, right Tidal?” he says slyly.
I don’t know what to say. On one talon if I refuse then this whole mission could end up in hell. On the other talon if I accept then we continue on but I don’t know if I can trust him. I guess I’ll have to accept and keep an eye on him. “Fine, I guess we can try.” I say.
“Alright then is this everyone? Can we go now?” Sulfur asks.
Torque's eyes go wide when he sees Sulfur. “Ahhh! What is that!” he shouts.
“The name’s Sulfur and you need me to guide you there.” Sulfur says calmly.
“Why do you look like… that?” Torque asks.
“I’m a mineral wing which is a dragon species that doesn’t exist here.” Sulfur says slightly infuriated. “Now let’s go.”
“Hold on!” Beaver shouts. “First, I think Tidal and Torque should tell us why they have beef.”
“This ain’t story time, we have a world to save, so let’s go!” Sulfur shouts before taking off
“Agreed” Torque says. “Me and Tidal will sort it out.” Torque says before taking off.
“Let’s go.” I say before taking off and hearing the rest do the same.
“Sulfur” I say catching up to him. “Do you know where you're going?”
“Of course I do.” he says, offended.
“How?” I ask “It’s the middle of the day.”
“The claw star only appears when you go more north, so we have to go more north.”
It’s night by the time we finally reach the most northern point in Pyrrhia. “We’re here now. So where’s the star?” I ask.
“Right there.” Sulfur says pointing to the brightest star in the sky, and to my surprise the star sits directly north.
“Wow. The star sits directly north. That seems a bit obvious.” Beaver says.
“Indeed. Looks like we need to fly directly north to find these northern lands.” Gull says emerging from the shadows.
“Gah!” Torque screams scrambling backwards.
“Relax, relax, it’s just Gull.” I say calming everyone before taking Gull off to the side.
“Gull, are you sure you should go? Your wing is still pretty badly beat up.” I say nervous with worry while studying his wing. It doesn’t exactly look like a wing, it looks more like someone tried to make a wing but scraped it halfway through and just decided to crush it instead.
“I’ll be fine plus I can do this. Wing, heal.” Gull says before his wing starts to form back into a wing shape.
“Now can we go?” Sulfur asks.
“Yes we can.” I say before taking off and as I take off and hear the others do the same, followed by their wingbeats behind me, we travel northward to find these Northern Lands.
