Imprisoned

'Ouch my head' Thought Ekko as he could feel the throbbing pain. 'Where am I? And why is it so dark?'

He could make out shapes in the darkness. Human shapes as far as he could tell.

"What the hell." he mumbled.

As far as Ekko could remember, he was being chase by a cattle size dog. 'Damn it! So that wasn't a dream.'  He  cursed. 'If so, why the hell am I not dead yet?  Surely a monster like that would have gobbled me up, no problem at all.'

Ekko did not move, he stayed very still. In an attempt to lessen his breathing. There was no point in panicking. Panicking wouldn't help him at all in this current predicament. This was basic anime logic. He smiled smugly to himself.

"Hello?" Ekko called out cautiously. Ekko wanted to confirm if he was alone or not, the human shape silhouettes still hasn't move one bit.

"Shssh" someone warned. "Will you stop that racket. Don't you understand what will happen if that man hears us?" a feminine voice whispered. Her voice was faint and very quiet. From the tone of her voice and action, you could tell how scared she was of this man.

"Wait man?" Ekko whispered back. 'I don't understand. The situation gets weirder and weirder. I thought that this people were brought here by that monster. In my head I have already came up with various possibility of the identity of our captor. Could it be? Are they really real? I didn't think that they could possibly exist. After all aren't they only in books? Werewolves are real and they eat people!" Ekko gasped in shock, momentarily forgetting the poor girl.

Suddenly Ekko could hear a commotion nearby. It sounded like it came from another room.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Ekko went down on all fours and crawled towards the source of the commotion.

"What are you doing?" the girl asked in a very terrified voice.

Ekko simply ignored her and continued.

Goblin looked down at the naked girl sprawled on the floor. Her body was in sorry state. Her fair body now covered in welts and bruises, courtesy of the dark mage.

Goblin simply spat on her in disgust and promptly don his dark mage article, covering his sickly thin body. Although his bodies outward appearance maybe frail, there is strength in those bones. Magical energy is a very strange thing, able to produce miracles and wonders.

A one star mage could even lift up a giant boulder using nothing but the magic running down its veins.

'The amount of people should be enough for now. After all Master did say to take a few.'  Mused Goblin, rubbing his wooden staff absentmindedly.

He peered across the distance, observing the 'dark wolves' he conjured.

'Hehe! For this puny world, this low level minions should be enough as a simple guard and deterrent. They are also surprisingly clever, handing me the human boy from earlier. Yes not bad at all.'

Goblin and his canine summons were connected body and mind, so he could give order to them telepathically.

'Come here.' He commanded the leader of the wolves.

The leader of the pack, an even larger wolf, twice the size of his kind, quickly bound towards his master. Its head lowered to the floor in reverence in front of his master, his usual proud and aloof stature quickly turned into a meek looking large dog.

Goblin squatted down and looked up his creation in glee.

I made this creature using the bones of the Silver back Wolves. Its  level should be closer to a one star mage. Although not very useful for dealing with mages, on its own. Together with its pack, it should still provide a tricky opponent.

"We set off now! Gather the prisoners!" Barked Goblin to his skeleton servants. He summoned them after he first decided to established this place as a temporary base.

Although the skeletal creature has zero combat power. Them being one of the low level spells you first learn as you embark the journey to being a necromancer. They were usually use as servants, to cater the needs of the master.

For example it was them who made the hut that the black mage was resting in.
