“YOU PIECE OF FAT SPACE SHIT! HOW MANY TIME DID I TELL YOU NOT TO DISMANTLE ANYTHING WE BRING BACK AND THAT I HAVE BUILT!” The shout of a furious AI resonates throughout the ship in the desolate space grave.
*Bang*
“You little tramp! You actually dare hit me!” A pissed off rough man's voice called back after a resounding impact was heard.
“Mechanic Unit...Scavenger unit… Cease argument effective immediately!” An icy cold child's voice came next.
This was Lia, Chuck and Magi respectively.
Almost two weeks have passed since Lia has finished making the Scavenger drone unit similar to Vivi’s scout drone unit.
Chuck, inside of a large round drone with a number of different sized arm attachments, was on the ground after getting hit by Lia with a large metal pole.
What happened was that Lia had recently finished building part of a large suit using Tris’s humanoid model. This suit was at Roktar’s size and was part of a set that would be put on the crew to seal the leaking Psi. That said, Chuck had seen a part which had recently been scavenged and hadn’t been categorized since Lia instantly noticed it when it was deposited and as a result, he mistook the equipment for trash and began dismantling the suit but half way through was hit with a resounding impact by Lia.
“Ahahaha, serves you right fatty! I told you not to mess with Lia’s stuff!” The childish laughing from Ricky came and soon the childish robot walked in.
Ricky and Xeno were both built after Chuck’s unit had been completed. Ricky was made for combat while Xeno was given a human shaped robot and focused on running the ship's systems without trouble as well as constantly improving it. He also took Vivi’s job, which at the time was Jessica’s, and programmed any and all new equipment that needed any complex coding.
He has also found that even though neither Engine or Generator or even the Blink drive, was damaged, and everything repaired to top condition by Lia, the engine and thrusters still didn’t start up. Not even the VI, the copy of the station AI they took, could start them up for some odd reason which was attributed to the wave of energy doing something to them.
“Shut up brat or the next thing I dismantle is you!” Chuck cursed at the boy that was pointing and laughing at the fallen drone with a long dent on the slam Lia gave.
She walks up and puts her foot on the front side and pushed it down.
“The only thing that would be getting dismantled is you if you weren’t the least bit useful! Now got scavenge like the dirt bug you are!” Lia cursed him and grabbed him before throwing him into the hangar through the opening the lift uses. He stopped in mid air and cursed at her before leaving. All the while Ricky was laughing.
Both herself and Ricky had upgraded their strength stats. Lia figured out how to do this by researching Hilda’s body with her being a combat model so after finding the corresponding parts she upgraded herself so she can lift heavier loads.
“Damn that idiot… maybe I should have Xeno make a code that will keep him out of the workshop.” Lia muttered before turning and started to repair the suit she was building.
Suddenly a little drone flew in.
“Big sis Lia! Big sis Magi! I found the pod thing you wanted! It's in a really big ship! I checked with Old man Xeno and he said the ship is something called a carrier but half of the top side is blow off and is about 30 meters away.” Vivi’s voice resound in the workshop.
“Let’s go…” Magi says calling Lia and the others and they get on the lift before going down and entering the bridge where Xeno was working and on the screen was images of the carrier.
“That is a large carrier!” Lia said when she saw it. The carrier was nearly 2 km long and 300 meters wide and it was clearly a medium sized ship, though on the smaller side.
A moment later Tris entered the room and saw the image.
“A carrier ship, the size is impressive. It can certainly hold a great deal of things inside. The husk would also be a perfect place to start my experiment with the Psi enhanced vegetation and space life.” She said analyzing the image.
“We can’t move remember nor can we blink there.” Xeno said bluntly without looking back at them.
"No worries, I am capable of using Noah's robot as is Magi and we can use the Psi Flying Fish if needed." Tris replied just as bluntly to him.
"Negative... objective one, Scavenger unit proceed to carrier and dismantle all useable material within Hangar... this supervisor unit shall undergo training to control psionic Robot... Medical unit... you are authorized to experiment with mutated psi vegetation and space life forms...." She said.
With that said and done she handed out orders to the rest and they all start accomplishing them.

Sitting in a high ranking office was the senior doctor. He had just arrived for the morning and one of the nurse brought him several documents he needed to overlook. The one on top was actually a not.
He lets out a sigh as he reads it over.
“Condition of Noah Collins and Sophia Brim completely stable. Last seizure was one week ago. Noland Collins walked to the room of Elisa Rayne five times during the night, Alexander Grove was found three times in Luna Patterson’s room, Ernest Murphy was found two times in Meghan Welding’s room. All cases the men move and female show agitation within a ten minute time frame before the men move.” The senior looks it over.
Then he looks at the next folder which hold a new type of file. This was from the medical pods all eight remained in. The pod was different from conventional capsules as it was thinner but more like a hospital bed but made of the gel like substance. The same helmet capsules have is located inside.
“Brain scans of females brain during agitation seems to cause a corresponding effect on the pair. Effect on the brain seems to be almost synchronization of brain waves. This technology truly is bringing a new perspective to this clouded case.” The senior commented.
The next folder showed Noah and Sophia’s brain scans.
“These two who are within a 5 meter proximity have almost 80 to 90% brainwave synchronization. Mental stabilization has also appeared and no mental overload present. Pressure in several normally inactive sections of the brain has lessened and is an area with full synchronization. Movement is exactly the same and stimulus on one patient seems to transfer to the other.” he muttered.
It showed a test of sensory tests were one of their foot was pressed but the stimulus appeared on both of them.
The next folder showed an interesting section.
“20% of brain waves seem to match with all eight patients. Hmm, maybe we can acquire further stability putting them in a single room.” He muttered but sighed since there is no room that can hold eight people inside those capsules at the same time unless said room was built specifically for this.
Going on he looked at another file which states information of other victims of the incident.
“No other reported cases similar to this one even with beta players who were on the same ship or near each other at the time. There are some cases of those who were closer where they are randomly subjected to intensive headaches. Seems that explosion caused some real world trouble not only for the crew.” The senior muttered.
Suddenly the door opened and a secretary nurse walked in.
“Sir there is a woman stating she is Noah Collin’s mother here to visit. We checked the database and it says that Noland Collins was married to this woman but she left soon after Noah’s birth.” The nurse said.
“Oh, I shall go see her personally but I need you to prepare four rooms for two people near each other, two on one side of the corridor and two on the other. Then move these people inside in the pairs they seem to have formed. This should stabilize them for now.” He said and the nurse nodded.
He stands up and leaves for the front reception where he soon spotted a very beautiful mature woman with brown hair tied up and an alluring dress adorning her curvaceous body. Behind her was an elder butler with grey hair and a similar color mustache and a monocle over his right eye. He gave off a gentle feeling but behind that was that tiny hint of icy coldness. His figure was muscular but not overly so and it was well hidden under his suit.
“Greetings, I believe you are the one who claims to be Noah Collins mother.” The senior doctor asked.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
“And you might you be?” The woman asked looking at him.
“I am doctor Wilson Vincent Trace, I am the doctor in charge of Noah and your ex husband and all the other that were part of the incident in The Nebula.” He said.
Though it wasn’t seen or heard, Maria’s eyes trembled and her pulse instantly shot up. The incident she caused, she knew far too well that all but the eight members of the crew that Sophia was in were awake. If the doctor said that Noah and Noland were part of it that meant that she had bombed both of them as well.
“Is that so, if you wish for proof, this is my identity, though I had been reluctant to leave I had to protect Noah due to my line of work. I still kept Noland’s surname as to not forget about my son. Here is my ID and this is a copy of Noah’s birth certificate.” She said and snapped her finger making the butler bring out the documents she requested.
“I will have to run these through the system before I can allow anyone to see them due to their conditions being a bit serious.” The Wilson said
“We aren’t in a hurry.” Maria said.
“Alright, please wait a bit. If you are hungry we have a cafeteria, just ask any of the nurse or doctors and they can direct you to it.” Wilson said after overlooking the documents and walking off to find the security chief to do a background check and to verify the validity of the documents.
She goes and sits down on the waiting area. She lets out a breath but the shaking in her body finally showed up and the butler noticed.
“You couldn’t have known, all the information we obtained was where she was and the number of crew.” The butler said.
“I know but I should have figured it out myself. Of course Malcolm would have gotten Noland to teach his daughter about this game. That man’s adaptability to new systems and his perception when it comes to analyzing a game system is in a league of its own.” Maria said in a low voice.
“Still, it was quite lucky of us to log out as soon as we entered FTL speeds or else we would have been in a similar situation as them.” The butler commented.
Maria simply nodded, no one had any way of guessing that the virus implanted Psi Nuke would have had that kind of adverse reaction when mixed with an EMP pulse in a wormhole. Still what was strange was why the crew didn’t wake up yet. A wormhole can transport someone hundreds of parsec in a second yet from what Maria knew, it took them almost a week to find it. This means the ship was stuck in the wormhole for several hours or days and was launched an extremely far distance from the current know space.
As she was deep in thought the sound of the electric doors sliding came from the front and two men walked but half way it stopped.
“M-Maria?!” The voice called and she lifted her head and saw the man calling her.
She paled slightly seeing who it was.
“Malcolm…” She said in return and stood up putting on her poker face.
Behind Malcolm stood Proto. He was looking at the butler next to Maria and his eyes were partially squinted as he felt the danger from the man.
“What are you doing here?” Malcolm asked, his voice filled with a hint of icy rage. Malcolm and Noland are close friends so how could he not know the woman that left his best friend with his son and vanished.
“I heard my son was injured in “your” so called game and came to see his condition.” Maria said.
“Don’t bullshit with me, you abandoned Noah as a newborn, you think I don’t know about that.” Malcolm replied.
“You don’t know anything, life is full of dangers and neither of you know my past and my enemies. Noland was someone I tried to settle down with but it didn’t work out because of them, Noah came unexpectedly and I couldn’t endanger his life.” Maria said changing her seductive eyes into ones revealing her anger but deep inside there was also sadness at not being able to be with her child.
“Hmpf, as if I will believe that.” Malcolm scoffed at her. “And taking such a huge fortune from Noland was also to help take care of your son?”
“Noland would have remained a depressive lump of flesh if he didn’t have an incentive to take care of Noah. Taking the money allowed me to last some time as well as force him to get over me leaving faster and go on with his life. I have no plans to return to him after so long and I am simply here to see how my son looks and to see how much he grew up.” Maria said.
At this moment Wilson walks out and sees the four standing there.
“Miss Maria, we have checked your documents and confirmed their validity. You are allowed to visit Noah and if you like, your ex-husband as well.” Wilson said.
“Greetings sir, I came to see how they are doing and if the medical pods are working properly.” Malcolm said.
“Oh indeed, it really opens a completely new perspective in brain scans. We have determined that the four men follow the instinctive to protect the women closest, mentally, to them and after a period of agitation they will move to the room they are in so today we plan to move the pairs into the same rooms. We found that the eight of them have a 20-30% similarity in brain waves meaning that besides just the pair there is also an overall affect of them being close so we are setting up four rooms near each other for them where each pair will be.” Wilson said.
“I see, this will really help with the expansion of the research funds we receive for this branch of the VR technology. Soon we might be able to use this to figure out cybernetics hopefully.” Malcolm said.
Maria just stood there but in her mind she was let out a little chuckle.
“That simple minded fool that paid me to mess with Malcolm is very near sighted. While he focuses on video games Malcolm will focus in all around technological expansion. Truly the first company that made VR technology is different from those coming after.” She thought.
“I shall be going to see my son for the first time in so long, I shall allow you gentlemen to enjoy your business talk.” Maria said and Wilson had one of the nurse lead her to Noah’s room.
Walking inside, the two saw the two bed like capsules. In the closer pod was the person she had targeted which made her heart clench seeing Sophia knowing that because of her attack on this person, her son got hurt.
Maria rips her gaze from the young woman and to the young man in the next bed. The lean muscles and brown hair he had inherited from her was displayed through the helmet on his head. The strong body showed his own determination to getting strong.
“He has your good looks and you hair as well. I wonder if he is as overbearing towards his father like you?” The butler asked.
She chuckled hearing him say that. What he meant by overbearing was when Noland did stupid things, she had often physically beat sense into him before completing the business they were currently doing.
“Something we probably won’t figure out unless I talk with him directly.” She said solemnly.
She really regrets not being able to live with the boy, when she found she was pregnant she had complex emotions but like most mothers, she couldn’t hate the baby inside her and even after so long she still regretted not seeing him wake up.
“We should pass by his house and get copies of any picture albums Noland may have made of Noah. I want to see my baby as a baby again.” She said as a gentle smile appeared on her face and she leaned in and kissed his right cheek and turned to leave.
“Are you fine with just this, mistress?” The butler asked.
“Yes, I got to see his lovely face but… now I want payback for what happened. Maybe a few hints that Malcolm can find.” She said as she leaves the room. Her gentle smile carrying a hint of viciousness.
Payback for having her son be caught in that incident. Something she plans to repent even if slightly for as well as leaving him behind.

“This just in. Digital Nexus incorporated, has just launched a new game following the sci-fi theme. This seems to be a game to fight their biggest competitor Virtual Works. After the recent incident and the closure of “The Nebula” until the end of the week they took the chance and did a sudden release of their game “The Nexus Tower” a game where the competitors start in a low development area and fight to prove themselves on each level and rise to the next slowly developing and their objective is to reach the top and become the strongest.
Virtual Works has shown no reaction as of yet. Most likely they will go with their schedule and remain with the return of their main ship game. Even after the incident there are still millions wanting to return to the game after so long. 3 weeks is 2 months and almost 2 weeks away in game. The galaxy may have seen a huge change after what had happened and only on the return of The Nebula will we know how it changed!” A reporter said on the TV channel.
The man that had commissioned Maria was smiling on his chair as he watched the report at his game going live. “I’ll run you out of business Virtual Works!” He said with a vicious smile.

In the space filled with broken ships and hunks of metal and some small rocks from a far off asteroid field a suddenly speeding figure fly by.
The figure was two things, the one in the front were about as thick as a male human's arm with a body like a fish with two half meter long fin like wings one third of the way back and two thirds of the way back on its body was another set of wings but these were half the size of the front ones. This was a Psi flying fish swiftly “swimming” in space and holding onto it’s tail was Tris who had small metal box in her other arm.
She was currently flying through space while using her trained skill of Psi pulse telepathy with the Psi Flying Fish and was having it pull her through space to the large carrier in the distance.
The Fish was quite nimble and could easily fly in space and Tris, using her psi from her feet, could keep herself from hitting anything that would damage her at these speeds. Soon the carrier came into view.
”Good, there it is, let's go to the hangar then.” She thought and transmitted her thoughts through the pulse into the Fish’s tail making it speed off into the hangar and stopping.
Tris let's go and tells it to follow her and then stabilizes herself in the air.
Like all the recently mutated creatures and life forms, the flying fish had some bioluminescence and with it she could see a bit around her. Not to mention the lights from the scavenger and scout drones below as the scan and dismantle.
Tris looked around, she had some theories on how the plants and animals interacted but she did know that the plants didn’t need sunlight but instead psi and for some reason, only the psi from the fish. Maybe due to the mutation and adaptation it eats refined Psi that passed through a living creature's body.
Tris floats to halfway up the wall of the hangar and with her psi makes a dent in the wall and opens the back and takes out some coral pieces and places them safely in the dent then makes several others nearby and puts a few other buds inside before shifting through her box and taking out some newborn fish and putting one near each bud and sent a pulse to each.
“You each remain close to all the plants.” was the intent each pulse had.
She goes to another corner and makes several dents and pulls out seeds this time and does the same.
All over the walls and on the clear ground near the back of the hangar she “planted” the seeds putting a few newborn flying fish near them. Even newborns released psi like the adults and with time it will feed the plants and when it “hatches” the plants will feed it back and it will become a mutual predation where the vegetarian Flying fish feed off the vegetation but return food back in the form of their psi.
She tells the adult to float around releasing its own psi and she just watched until Magi asked her to return to which she and the adult flew back to the ship and reported their progress.
