As Victor rummaged through the remnants of the abandoned ship, his eyes caught a glimpse of a crackled and ruptured set of stairs. The design on it was exceptional, with concentric circles that gave off a reddish shade, and the wooden texture felt smooth like butter. It was a pity that the stairs were now in two parts, each covered with granules and ashes, almost as if they had been through a war themselves.
However, it wasn't the beautiful stairs that kept Victor's attention. As he opened one of the drawers in the nearby cabinet, he found pages that were written in the same handwriting as the one he had found in the hospital. As he started reading it, he slowly uncovered the truth behind this eerie place.
The author of the pages, Nathaniel, seemed to have experienced a glitch in the fabric of space-time, or at least, that's what he called it.
As Victor continued reading Nathaniel's notes, he found himself deeply immersed in the vivid descriptions of Nathaniel's experience in the strange dimension. Nathaniel recounted how he and his crew members were sailing across the sea, not knowing that they were about to embark on a journey that would change their lives forever. As they sailed along, suddenly, they crashed into a strange building, entering a dimension unlike anything they had ever seen before. He wrote about the confusion and fear that had gripped them as they tried to make sense of their surroundings.
Nathaniel was a quantum scientist, and had been working for the U.S.A during World War II. He had been assigned to a top-secret project to develop advanced technology that could give the United States an edge in the war effort. Nathaniel had always been fascinated by the mysteries of the universe, and he had dedicated his life to unraveling its secrets.
When he and his crew had first crashed into this strange dimension, Nathaniel's scientific mind had been in overdrive. He had observed the changes in the city outside, the way it seemed to reform and shift positions without any discernible cause. He had studied the strange energy fields that surrounded them, and had tried to make sense of the bizarre creatures that roamed this place.
As Nathaniel's notes continued, Victor found himself drawn deeper and deeper into the scientist's world. Nathaniel had documented everything, from the strange fluctuations in time that they had experienced to the bizarre occurrences that defied all scientific explanation. He had studied the creatures that roamed this place, noting their strange behavior and peculiar abilities.
Nathaniel had been determined to understand this place, to find a way back home. He had poured all his knowledge and expertise into the project, working tirelessly day and night to unravel the mysteries of this strange dimension.
Mark and Shia slowly ascended the stairs, their footsteps echoing ominously through the empty halls. The only sound they could hear was the faint sound of their own breathing. The air felt heavy, as if they were wading through thick water.
As they approached the top of the stairs, they saw smoke seeping out from under a nearby door. Their hearts racing, they cautiously approached the door, trying to see through the thick smoke. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the haze - it was Jeanette, coughing and sputtering.
"What in God's name? Are you okay?" Mark asked, as Jeanette stumbled towards them.
“I wouldn't say good.. ....because I just had a near death experience” Jeanette replies coughing
Shia asks panicking “are you hurt anywhere? wait the smoke... did the crea-”
"No no I found smoke grenades and used them to escape the creature," Jeanette gasped, holding out a gun towards Mark.
Mark's eyes widened in surprise as he took the gun from her hand. He could barely make out her face through the smoke, but he could see the terror in her eyes.
“wait where did you get this?" Mark asks in confusion
Jeanette shook her head, coughing again. “Not the time to ask Marc, we need to get out of here”
Mark and Shia exchanged a worried look. They knew they were running out of time - they had to find a way out of the building, and fast.
All three of them slowly made their way out of the building, their hearts racing with fear and anticipation. As they stepped onto the ship's deck, the walkie-talkie in Mark's pocket suddenly crackled to life. They froze, listening intently.
“Victor, Jason, can you hear us?” Mark spoke into the device, hoping for a response. But there was only silence.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Suddenly, Jeanette noticed a breach in the deck, where it looked like someone had broken through. The realization hit them hard – both Victor and Jason must have entered the ship through that very opening. Mark's mind raced as he tried to piece together what could have happened.
Just then, a strange sound echoed through the ship – it was the sound of something dragging across the metal floor. Mark and Shia looked at each other, their eyes wide with terror. They knew they had to be cautious and approach with care.
As they slowly made their way towards the sound, their walkie-talkie suddenly crackled to life again. This time, they could hear the sound of Jason's voice, but it was weak and strained. They could tell he was in trouble.
With growing dread, they approached the source of the sound. And there, in the dim light, they saw the creature – its dark, twisted form was holding Jason by the neck, its claws digging into his flesh. Mark's heart raced as he realized the danger they were in.
His hands trembled as he aimed his pistol at the creature's menacing form, his heart pounding with fear and adrenaline. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he pulled the trigger, again and again, each shot ringing out like a death knell in the eerie silence.
The creature staggered back, wounded but not defeated, and Mark's mind raced with panic. He couldn't let it get any closer, couldn't let it harm his friends. With a fierce determination, he emptied the remaining bullets in his pistol, each shot fueled by the powerful words from 2 Timothy 1:7 echoing in his mind.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!" he shouted, his voice raw with emotion. The creature let out a final, guttural roar, and then collapsed to the ground, motionless.
Mark stood there for a moment, panting heavily and trying to calm his racing heart. He felt a surge of relief and strength, knowing that he had overcome his fear and protected his friends. And in that moment, the words of 2 Timothy 1:7 rang true for him, a reminder that with God's power and love, he could conquer anything.
Jeanette rushed to Jason's side, checking for a pulse. Thankfully, he was still alive. She helped Jason to his feet, supporting him and feeding him water.
Victor continued reading the notes and eventually came across a section titled "Cave" on day 16. Nathaniel had proposed a way to reach the red light, as he believed that the constantly changing and deforming city made it impossible to navigate by streets alone. Instead, Nathaniel suggested going underground and finding a cave within the city. This seemed like a wild idea, but after some research, Nathaniel explained that the hollow buildings within the city weren't actually hollow at all. Each building seemed to embody a different concept, with one such building containing an entire forest with caves on the ground floor.
The question was, how would they locate this building within the constantly shifting city? Nathaniel had a solution: he had brought along numerous cameras and had tried different types to see which worked best. Ultimately, he had settled on using a thermal camera. By using the thermal camera to scan the buildings, he was able to identify the building that appeared warmer than the others, indicating the possibility of a forest within. Victor was amazed by this idea and noted that Nathaniel had planned to leave a copy of this note behind while taking one with him to help guide their journey.
Suddenly he hears the sound of mark from his walkie-talkie “Victor, Jason, can you hear us?” , before he can respond however, it stops working due to bad signal.
Victor's heart raced as he made his way towards Station B to inform and check on Jason. His mind was focused on finding a way out of this nightmare. As he approached the station, his pace quickened, and he burst through the door, ready for action.
But what he saw inside stopped him in his tracks. There, on the ground, was Jason, his body wracked with spasms. Jeanette was kneeling next to him, holding a water bottle to his lips. And Mark stood nearby, holding his gun and staring at the motionless creature on the ground.
Victor rushed over to Jason, his concern growing with each passing second. "What happened?" he asked, his voice urgent. Jeanette explained that jason had been attacked by the creature, and that he had been bitten. She was doing her best to keep him hydrated and comfortable, but his condition was rapidly deteriorating.
Victor's mind raced as he considered their next move. "We need to go," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
“But Where?..” Shia asks
"The hospital." Victor replies
“Hospital...? why would we go back to that hell?" Mark asks in confusion
“First of all: jason, we need to treat him, there's a chance that the creature left a poison in him, and second of all: We need to find a thermal camera to help us navigate the city and reach the red light.” Victor replies with a firm and confident voice
“Thermal camera? What are you saying Victor? iam not following” Mark becomes more confused
“I don't have time to explain, I'll explain you along the way” Victor replies rapidly
Everyone looked at him, now understanding the urgency of their situation. They knew that Victor was the only one with a plan, and they followed him out the door, ready to face whatever lay ahead. With Jason's health deteriorating and the need for a thermal camera, they had two compelling reasons to return to the hospital, even though they knew the dangers that awaited them there.
Mark carried jason on his back and everyone stepped out of the building . They were greeted by the same bleak and gray sky that they had seen before. The rain was still pouring down relentlessly, drumming a steady beat on the asphalt and leaving everything around them slick with moisture. The world around them seemed like a dream, unreal and otherworldly.
As they walked towards the hospital, Victor felt a growing sense of unease gnawing at his gut. It had been more than twelve hours since they had first arrived in this strange dimension, and their bodies were starting to feel the strain. The lack of food was taking its toll, and their energy levels were rapidly depleting. He knew that if they didn't find something to eat soon, they would be in serious trouble.
The hospital loomed ahead of them, a massive, ominous structure that seemed to swallow up the rain and darkness. Will they find food and save jason? Or the creature will greet them again?
