In search of clues

The wreckage of the old cargo ship was hideous, with the funnel, stern, and entire rear side obliterated into debris and fragments. Despite the destruction, the ship's front side remained intact. As the group approached the ship, shivers ran down their spines. It felt like the debris would crawl over to them at any moment, engulfing and tormenting them bit by bit, amusing itself with their agony. The old and abandoned ship smelled like rotten flesh, its aura screaming misfortune and calamity. Nevertheless, the answer lay there, right in the ship. Maybe on the deck, maybe on the starboard side, they didn't know. It was essential to find the truth and escape this hellish nightmare.

Climbing the deck with bare hands and avoiding the debris carefully, Jason stepped up first. Swirling his eyes here and there, he mumbled, "It's a dagger." "Nothing else?" Victor asked as he jumped over. "No."

The team decided to split up into two groups. Jason and Victor would inspect the ship, looking for clues. The other members would explore the building. Contact would be maintained through walkie-talkie in case of any potential dangers.

After examining it, Victor picked up the old and rusty dagger, giving off an earthly smell. "It was a fight...definitely," Victor turned to Jason with sudden realization.

"A fight? What the hell are you talking about?" Jason asked in confusion.

"Like us, these people might have encountered the creatures too. It's a natural reaction to try and fight them off," Victor explained calmly.

"I get it now, so these assholes were like us, getting stuck here and then...maybe they found a way to escape?" Jason suggested.

"Exactly! That could be it. We need to get inside to find out," Victor agreed.

Locating the entrance wasn't the hard part; the real issue was passing through it. To their disbelief, the entrance was completely concealed with hard rock and debris.

"The hell, why is the entire loaf of rock blocking the way?" Jason scowled and headed towards the entrance, stomping the wooden floor rapidly. He tried to brute force it but his attempt was futile. The sheer strength required was beyond the capability of any human.

He screamed in frustration and disappointment, crouching down to plan their next move. Just when they thought they couldn't get in..

"Found a way": Victor identified a breach and motioned for Jason to join him. Although not very large, it seemed possible to enter if they tried.

Meanwhile, As Shia continued her search for information, she moved from one room to the next, inspecting each one carefully. In one particular room, she stumbled upon a strange and surreal sight that left her bewildered. The dilapidated walls of the room were covered with vibrant, red roses that had been affixed to the crumbling surfaces. The flowers emitted a strong and alluring aroma that drew her in, and despite the dingy and abandoned state of the room, the roses seemed to bring life to the otherwise lifeless space.

What caught Shia's attention the most was the fact that the roses appeared unwithered, as if they had been recently placed on the wall. It was perplexing and seemed almost impossible, given the state of the room and the age of the building. She couldn't help but wonder who could have possibly put them there, and why.

However, even as she pondered these questions, Shia was mesmerized by the beauty of the room and the aroma of the roses. The scent enveloped her like a warm embrace, making her feel comforted and safe in the midst of the chaos and danger that surrounded her.

She sweeps her hand across the surface of the roses, feeling the delicate petals under her fingertips. The rich, earthly aroma envelopes her, reminding her of the garden her father used to tend to when she was a child. She closes her eyes, allowing the memory to take hold and transport her away from the dilapidated room and the horrors that lurked beyond.

But as she opens her eyes, she realizes that something is not quite right. The roses, which should be wilted and withered like the rest of the decaying walls, are fresh and vibrant, as if they had been freshly cut and placed on the wall just moments ago. Shia's heart begins to race as she realizes that this could be a trap, a ploy to lure her in and trap her in this nightmare forever.

Suddenly, the ground begins to shake, and Shia hears a loud, guttural growl that echoes through the room. Panic sets in as she realizes that she is not alone, and a creature suddenly tears the floor apart. She tries to back away slowly, but her foot catches on a loose piece of rubble and she falls to the ground.

The humanoid figure floated before her, its form seemingly sculpted from ice. Its body was translucent and shimmering, like a diamond refracting light. It moved with an eerie grace, its limbs and torso gliding through the air in a way that defied physics.

As the creature moved, a trail of frost followed in its wake. The air around it chilled, and she could see her breath misting before her eyes. The creature's eyes glowed with an icy blue light, like frozen sapphires embedded in its face.

The creature's mouth opened, revealing rows of razor-sharp icicles that glistened in the dim light. It emitted a soft, melodic hum that echoed through the icy cavern, reverberating off the walls like a haunting melody.

The figure was surrounded by a faint aura of cold energy, emanating from its body in shimmering waves. The energy coalesced into a swirling mist of snowflakes that danced around the creature, like a blizzard trapped in a bubble.

The sight was both mesmerizing and horrifying, as if she was witnessing a nightmare made real. The monstrous creature seemed to embody all the darkest fears and terrors of the human psyche, a grotesque and terrifying manifestation of the unknown and the unknowable.

As she scrambles to her feet, she hears the sound of the creature getting closer and closer. She feels a cold sweat break out on her forehead as she realizes that this is it - this is the end.

But just as she thinks all is lost, a familiar voice calls out to her from the doorway. "Shia, get over here now!" It's Mark, who has come just in time to save her.

With a renewed sense of hope, Shia runs towards Mark as fast as she can, dodging the rubble and debris as she goes. She can feel the creature's hot breath on her neck, but she refuses to look back, knowing that Mark is there to protect her.

As she reaches the safety of the doorway, Mark slams the door shut, trapping the creature on the other side. Together, they both make a run for it, their footsteps echoing in the empty building.

The entity's intelligence seemed to be evolving rapidly. It had already demonstrated its ability to shapeshift into a human form, and now it was capable of feeding on people's emotions. It knew exactly which buttons to push, exploiting Shia's faint memory of her father to lure her into its grasp.

There was a sense of unpredictability surrounding the entity. Who knew what it would do next? Would it continue to encroach upon the building, taking over more and more of its inhabitants with its insidious powers?

The situation was growing more dire by the minute. The entity's cunning and malevolent nature made it a formidable foe, and they were running out of options. They knew they had to act quickly before the entity gained even more power and control.

Wasting no time, Shia grabbed her walkie-talkie and tried to contact the others, but unfortunately it stopped working, there was no response. She looked at Mark, her eyes wide with fear. "Something's not right," she said.

Mark nodded, his jaw clenched. “It's the creature...he's doing this”

Shia asks in fear. “Jeanette...did she tell you where she would go?”

Mark responds biting his fingers.“Not exactly, but i remember her saying that she'll mostly search the upper floors”

Jason and Victor had breached into the ship already, and began exploring thereafter. However, they soon realized that navigating it would not be so easy. Fortunately, Victor found a guide with a layout of the ship.

“Ok so this thing has eight stairs, four Assembling Stations, named A, B, C, and D, a general area, a bar area, and a restaurant, as well as a retail section. Stations C and D, as well as the restaurant and retail areas, have been destroyed,” Victor explained.

“So what do we do?" Jason asks

“We split, you go to station A, i go to B. We keep in touch through the walkie-talkie, we'll cover more ground that way and save time.'” Victor replied.

“Gotcha but remember, if something comes up... contact me immediately, don't go tryna fight on your own and shit” Jason says while gently putting his first finger on victors head

“what are you doing?" Victor asks in confusion

“we need that brain of yours” Jason replies and heads in the opposite direction soon after.

As Jason entered Station B, a chill ran down his spine, and the hair on the back of his neck stood on end. The air was thick with a musty odor, and the atmosphere was cold and oppressive. It was as if the very walls were closing in on him, suffocating him with their lifeless presence.

As he made his way through the crew quarters, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. The quarters were divided into two equal parts, with a dimly lit hallway running down the middle. The rooms on either side were eerily silent, with no sign of life or movement. But Jason knew better than to let his guard down. He periodically glanced into the rooms, searching for any clues or evidence that could help him solve the mystery of this haunted ship.

His next stop was the storage area and airlocks, but it was a dead end. The rooms were filled with detritus and rubble, and it was clear that they had been abandoned for a long time. The silence was deafening, broken only by the sound of Jason's footsteps as he made his way through the desolate space.

Finally, he arrived at the control hub. The room was dark, illuminated only by the dim light of the console screens. As he approached the central control panel, he noticed that it sustained the least damage of any area on the ship. It was almost as if someone had taken great care to keep it intact.

But just as he was about to give up hope, he heard something. It was the sound of someone humming, a sound that was all too familiar to Jason. At first, he thought he was imagining things. But as the humming grew louder and more insistent, he realized that it was coming from within the control hub.

With a sense of unease, Jason turned around and saw his mother sitting on the chair of the control hub, in a pink dress that he had gifted her. She was singing his favorite song, a haunting melody that echoed through the empty space. He couldn't help but slowly approach her, drawn in by the hypnotic rhythm of the tune.

But when he reaches out to touch his mother's shoulder, she slowly turns around to face him. At first, he sees her familiar smile and bright eyes, but as she fully turns, her face contorts into something inhuman. Her eyes are now sunken and black, and her once sweet smile is now a sinister grin full of sharp, jagged teeth.

Jason recoils in horror, stumbling backwards and falling to the ground. He can hear his heart pounding in his chest, and he's frozen in fear as the creature slowly stands up from the chair, looming over him. It emits a low, guttural growl as it moves closer, its long, thin fingers reaching out to grab him by the neck.

Jason feels the creature's icy grip tighten around his throat, making it difficult to breathe. He struggles to break free, but its strength is overwhelming. The creature's face inches closer to his, its putrid breath filling his nostrils with the stench of death and decay.

As he gasps for air, he feels his consciousness slipping away. His vision begins to blur, and he knows that he's going to die. But just before he fades into unconsciousness, he sees a faint glimmer of light in the distance, and he hears the sound of his walkie-talkie crackling to life.
