I awoke to frankly a not so sunny day, it poured outside but it would probably pass soon. Either way there was no better way to start your morning than a quick visit to the chamber pot. After I emptied the pot and came back inside slightly moist from the rain I made my way back to my room since I still had about 6 hours before the Army recruiters arrived. Today was a very special day after all, most people would head down to the guild today and Awaken. He however had other plans.
Most people had saved some coin their whole life to awaken at some point but he frankly wasn't willing to go down and gamble on his life so he can get a class maybe suited for his hunting lifestyle. Some like him had decided to join the United Cities Military, it felt a little Surreal truthfully, I became a stable boy when my parents... died, in the 47th Demon Tide. Whilst scraping by I started to slowly learn how to hunt and eventually managed to quit working at the stables, ah, that place sucked ass, which also coincidentally happened to be what it smelled like. Either way that was 6 years ago so it didn't truthfully matter now.
Luckily for me in my moments of reminiscing it had quit raining outside, naturally since I wouldn't come back to this place probably ever it felt strange walking down to the Bearded Mare knowing I wouldn't see it again. Of course his arrival was announced by the bell tied to the indoor handle and then he quickly made his way over to Zolk.
"Usual right?"
"As always." And with a quick grumble the Lizard Kin took 7 copper from me and made his way to the back to give his "workers" his order. He never understood why Zolk never bothered with some waiters considering they'd make his life much easier. Generally it took about 15 minutes for his food to arrive so he had some time to kill. No better way to spend some free time than to walk directly up to the bar and pour yourself a drink of course, I'm sure Zolk wouldn't appreciate if I didn't pay for it so he left a copper where he sat at the front of the Inn. After a small wait his food was brought directly out to him by the cooks, a hot bowl of tomato soup with 3 sausages and some bread. A fairly hearty way to start a morning but in his opinion a damn good way. After finishing my meal I quickly made my way out and started up the path to my home, a small house that sat near the bottom of a hill on the outskirts of the village.

Once I had arrived I took all the money I had amounting to 2 gold and 3 large silvers in value and placed them inside a small pouch that I tied around my waist. After a quick scrounge through a locked shelf he found what I was looking for, the deed to my house, since I wasn't coming back most likely I wasn't gonna let my property go unused till it was taken by the Tax collectors that would come in 4 months when they realized his house was considered "unused property". Quickly I grabbed a tent and packed it into a sack along with a few other things such as the pendent my mother gave me. everything else in here wasn't worth taking or I simply didn't care too. Now the only thing I needed to do was head to the mayors house to sell my deed, naturally he knew Leech Wood like the back of his hand so he quickly stalked trough the streets over to the mayors large home.
After some questions relating to who I was and my purpose for being here from the guards that stood outside the large house yet not exactly a Manor I was escorted directly to a waiting room of sorts where they asked him to hand over the deed, naturally he did and the guard quickly rounded a corner and disappeared from sight. Soon the guards returned and made their way over to speak with him. "We will offer 1 gold and 65 silver for your property, no room for haggling." I shrugged, "sound's good." once more they departed and returned shortly after and directly handing him a pouch filled with coins. I was quickly escorted off the property and once more outside it's imposing figure.
Slowly I stalked back near the edge of Leech Wood and over to the North road where the recruiters would arrive. Soon I had found my way and began setting my tent up which only took about 3 minutes, after all, it was literally 2 metal beams that ended in a Y that you would impale in the ground then set 1 long straight metal beam across both then drape a white cloth over it and a mat in the tent itself.
There wasn't much to do other than maybe interact with the few others waiting for the recruiters as well, and frankly I didn't really care to speak with them either so I guess it was time for some waiting. Of the things I brought with me one would be a small hand book that detailed edible mushrooms and where you can find them. I myself am not a big fan of mushrooms, so unlike things like Berries some vegetables and herbs that I could sell or just eat I never bothered to learn about them, I just don't think they taste good. But considering where he was headed he felt it would be useful knowledge.
And so the hour's passed and after a fair wait the sound a cacophony of noises echoed down the dirt path leading to the village and so he put his tent back up, packed it once more, and got ready for recruiters.
