Chapter 2:  Three years ago part two

"Finally, I finished it!" shouted Caelum. It's already six months after he meets Kana. 

During this period, they become quite close with each other. Sometimes they are just staring the beautiful scenery at the outskirt. Other times they are talking about different topics like medicines,stories,the world,magic etc. He gains a great knowledge about medicines , trading and money. On the other hand Kana learns more about the world of magic and the world outside the city.

She learns that the world is divided into three parts. Weras is a continent ruled by 3 empires. The city and town where they live belong to the Vajas empire. The Norfrost empire is in the north and has an extremely cold climate. Finally, the Neri empire is in the south of the Vajas empire. The empire is surrounded by mountains and desert and is mostly warm. Dahles is a magical continent where fairies,seris and dabes lives. The fairies live in a huge forest called Nivas. The seris lives in the sky where cities and islands are build. Finally dabes lives in underwater cities.

Venia is a dangerous place due to the monsters that lives there. It's entire populated with demons,monsters and other dangerous creatures. There are races from the magical continent who lives in Weras and vice versa but no one in the magical continent or empire dares to live in Dahles.

"You know a lot about this world." said Kana. "My parents taught me to read and write. I always visited the libary here in the city. The libary is not big but I still learn a lot from reading books." said Caelum

"Hey Caelum do you want to leave this place and go to explore the world with me one day?"

"I don't know, the world is dangerous place. I rather stay here. I am weak and I know the world is a interesting place. But I rather stay at this place leading a boring life."

"That is not your true thoughts right? Deep in your heart you want to go outside this city and explore the world." 

"What do you mea...?"

"Nothing. It's time for me to leave see you later."

Caelum learns crafting accessories during  those six months. First he can earn money instead of begging or stealing and secondly he want to make a necklace for Kana. Her birthday is in three days and he finally finished the necklace. Two white wings that's the shape of the necklace. 

"Necklace for your girlfriend?" said the Ditz. Ditz is the owner of the accessories shop and he teaches Caelum the art of crafting.  "She... is just a friend and her birthday is in three days."

You are so happy when you finished the necklace. "Stop teasing me," respond Caelum.Anyway here is the money for this week. Caelum took the bag and look inside.This much? Your own items sell well this week. Caelum received 30 percent of the money for each item he sells.

He returns back to his home after buying food. He lives in a small house shared with 10 people. The house only has 2 chambers and one kitchen. There is not bathroom or eating room there. They basically need to eat outside and bath in the river or in a bathhouse.

After finishing eating, Caelum goes to bed. He is tired of working today.

Today is the birthday of Kana. He already waited outside the city gates.

 "It's nearly noon, where is she?  Should I just go to the town?" It's about a three hours walking.

Suddenly he saw something falling from the sky. "It's a person?"  He runs towards the location where the person is falling. BOOM! The person is falling and creates a huge hole on the ground. 

Caelum arrived at the spot and look at the hole. The hole is at least twenty meters deep. He shouted "Are you alright there?"  No answer. He quickly goes back to the city and buys a rope.

He binds the rope on a treetrunk and he descends inside the hole. 

His feet touched the ground a moment later. He look at the person inside the hole and see that he has wings on his back. A seri? How the hell is someone from the magical continent here?

"Hey wake up you! He try to wake the seri up but he doesn't respond. Is he dead? There is blood in his mouth and one of his wings is broken. He is holding something in his left hand. It's a black sphere. What is this thing?" He removes the black sphere out his hand. Well he is dead and it's not like I stole anything. He climbs back out of the hole and he remembers that he is still waiting for Kana.

I should just go to her home. He looks at the black sphere and examine it. There is a little crack on it. A huge shadow appeared on the ground. He look up in the sky and see an enormous castle.

"What the hell is this? Could it be the sky people?" The castle stopped moving. 

A moment later the castle is firing an energy beam on the city. BOOM!

Huge noises and explosion could be heard. Caelum couldn't believe his eyes. The city is completely destroyed. The castle is floating higher and higher until it disappeared. 

Caelum runs quickly to the destroyed city. "What the fuck is this? Is this a dream?"

Everything is turning in to  dust. There are no corpses, no buildings. It's just a big pile of dust.

"Everyone is dead.. everyone..." Caelum vomits when he thinks about the moment the people died. He hated some people in the city, but it doesn't mean he doesn't have friends or people he loved. 

Why didn't the blast hit me? Only the city is destroyed. The blast is obviously strong enough to destroy the city and their surroundings so I should have died.

I don't understand why would someone from the magic continent come here. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? 

He stayed a half day in the destroyed city pondering about the incident. "It's already evening.Yeah right, I need to go to kana."

He goes to the town where Kana lives. It's the first he visited the town. He memorized the road to the town when he was reading in a library.

After walking for three hours, he sees the town. It's already night when Caelum arrived. It's deadly silent in the town. Caelum walks in the town and lights a torch and the first thing he sees are corpses. Why is this happening at the same day? 

He examines the corpse and see claw marks. Is that a wolf mark? Or are there other monsters here?

"KANA, KANA!" shouted Caelum while searching for her.

He runs through the entire town and searching every house and he doesn't see Kana or her parents. The other side of the town! He runs and reached the end of the town. There are 3 corpses on the ground. A beautiful girl with silver hair laid motionless on the ground.

It's Kana.

Caelum stood there motionless. He doesn't want to believe it. 

The girl that he loves lies in front of him. He walks to her corpse and hug her. Large teardrops welled up from Caelum’s eyes. 

 He is crying and thinks "Today should be one of your happiest moment in your life. Why is life so unfair? Why am I still alive? I watching all my closest one died in front of me and I am still alive.

HAAAAHHHHHH!! He punched on the ground several times. His face is in despair and he is extremely grieved. His hair color starts to turn white because the sadness is overflowing.

The black sphere dropped out of his pocket and there are several cracks on it. Suddenly the black sphere cracks open and reveals a black light. The black light surrounds Caelum and swallows him.
