The White Lightning

The situation could haven't been worse for the King of Gandhar, as the dragon had taken her daughter away from him, in front of his eyes. There was nothing he could do, as the dragon flew over the lake Azure, towards the small island in it.

"What can we do!", he roared "Is there any way we can go as quickly as possible and save her, when will the boats be ready"

"I am sorry majesty but the dragon…. The strong gust of wind that he produced made quite a stir in the water, boats are too damaged to be used quickly." one of his men answered.

"What about those heroes, surely they must be still in town, when will they arrive", saying so this speech became strained and his eyes started to tear up. He fell on the bank of the lake," what can I do? What…to save my daughter, is there nothing ."

Suddenly some white flash went passing him, as quick as the lightning hit the ground, the air came gushing to fill the vacuum caused by it. But it wasn't some mana attack or lightning but a man. He moved so quickly as to leave after images behind, and make the impossible possible, so quick that he was walking on water without an issue.

The King was speechless at this level of talent, and his heart was filled with hope when he saw that the man was going towards the dragon.

"Don't worry Your Majesty, we are here to save your daughter. You can leave everything else on our shoulders". A voice came from behind, as he looked it was a man with blonde hair wearing golden armor, mana was seeping out of him. It was very easy to tell who it was.

"The..the hero", the king muttered.

The hero conjured a spear, everybody there could feel the weapon's strength. He threw it towards the dragon, it was going with immense speed. But it looked as if it was going to miss its target but that was what they had planned.

The white-haired boy jumped towards the dragon as the spear got near, using it to boost himself, and landed on the dragon's back. He slid a bit but managed to keep his balance, astounding everyone with his speed. However, the dragon had noticed him and was not happy about him riding on its back.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

The dragon started flying frantically, attempting to make the boy fall off while also using its free arm to slash at him. However, the boy remained determined to complete his duty. He slowly moved towards the dragon's arm, using his sword to balance himself.

That was when he saw her, the princess of Gandhar. It was almost creepy how unfazed she was, but he gave no heed to it.

"Quick get me out of here", she said.

He nodded and jumped towards the arm. Everybody was surprised and they were all sure he would fall but placing a precise slash with his sword, showing his talent, he severed the dragon's arm away from his body.

The dragon roared in agony, as his anger started spewing out of his mouth, in that moment he was going to burn both of them to a crisp but Swang!! Was the last sound he heard as a powerful spear, disintegrated his body. " job well done !!", said the hero with a smile.

On the other hand, the princess was falling into the lake but then was saved by the hands of the boy as they both floated on the hand of the dragon.

"Hey, can't just run on the water like you did before?" she asked

"Leg cramps", with a stern look he answered.

That left the princess laughing her heart off like she had not laughed in years. That left him even more frustrated as he had to not only carry her with his leg in bad shape but now also had to reel around.

"I think I like you", she said with a smile on her face," my name is Anushna, and you must be the hero everybody talking about!".

"Kauri", he answered still with an emotionless face," and I am not the hero, I am one of his party members, he is the true hero", pointing towards the blonde man standing on the shore.

"But you were the one who saved me, so you are my hero", poking his face with her hand.

"Wrong again, he was the one who killed the dragon, if not you would have been a burnt corpse by now".

She was smiling and trying to have a meaningful conversation with her savior, but unfortunately, her savior was Kauri, a man of few words. It was easier to make God almighty talk to you than to make him continue a conversation. But that didn't make her stop. It was almost comical how different they both were.

Anushna was a princess of Gandhar. She always had an infectious smile, long beautiful straight black hair, and a dark skin tone. She liked to wear colourful and flashy clothes.

On the other hand, her saviour, Kauri, was one of the heroes working to defeat the lord of the demons. He always had a monotonous look on his face, making it hard to tell how he was feeling. He had curly white hair and very pale skin. It was unbelievable that he could cut down such a monster with that frail body. He wore basic, bland colours.

There was nothing common between them; they were as different as the sun and the moon. Nevertheless, a bond formed between them, something that would change the story of their lives forever.
