Prologue:

A child was born on the 22nd of June in a small town called North Guanzu, in the district of Musan, in the province of North Hamgyong, deep within the land known as the hermit kingdom of North Korea.

His birth was mired with difficulties and complications. There are not enough oil lamps to serve as the only light in the dilapidated house. And the old midwife was sick at the time of his mother’s labor. Thus, the family was forced to use the services of the less experienced and younger apprentice.

On top of that, a typhoon is raging outside. It screamed in rage and poured an unprecedented amount of rainwater, threatening to flood the surrounding area. The father of the unborn child kept looking at the water level outside the dirt road and then at his suffering wife, fully aware that the river was only 2 miles away from his property. The father's weathered face frowned as he debated whether it was time to risk moving his family to a higher level within the town or stay put and hope for the best.

Eventually, they stayed put.

Just before midnight, in the middle of a massive storm, a healthy baby boy was born into the world. When the midwife slapped the baby’s pink behind, his resentful cry filled the entire hut. His wail accompanied the howl of the wind outside and it chilled his father.

The young midwife cooed at the baby boy, who was still sniffling, before expertly wrapping him tight in a blanket. Despite Grumpy's wrinkled, crunchy face, the midwife couldn't help but admit the baby was cute. Something she couldn't say for the majority of the babies she delivered. Of course, most parents are blinded by these, and she needed to be a bit diplomatic. Honesty is not always the best policy.

“Isn’t he beautiful?," The parent would say. “I bet he is going to become a star!”

What are you talking about? the young midwife will think. That little shit looks ordinary as fuck.

"Yes, he is,” the midwife will say instead, keeping her peace.

She complimented the old couple for having a beautiful baby, and both parents smiled. To be honest, they were simply glad the ordeal was over and worried if they could afford to raise another mouth to feed.

What they didn’t know at the time was that the young child was the first of the next progression in mankind’s evolution.

His name is Kim Jung-hee.

And he will shake the world to its very core.
