Chapter 2: Creating a Mission

A bridge with a height of 3 meters had something written on it: [Watch Your Head]. Meanwhile, a boy with a height of 166 cm, a round face framed by messy dark green hair sticking out at odd angles around his head and casting visible dark shadows over him, walked under the bridge.

He seemed a bit dejected and pensive. However, he didn't want to give up. He turned around, closed his eyes, and clenched a raised fist tightly. Yet, he didn't notice when something began emerging from the manhole cover nearby. When he heard a noise, he turned around.

"Ahh... Ah... A V-Villain!" he exclaimed.

What began forming was a huge sludge monster.

As its face took shape, large yellow eyes and a big mouth became apparent.

The villain spoke: "A medium-sized invisibility cloak."

The villain's voice sounded deep and, at the same time, as though it was speaking in front of a fan.

"Boom!"

Suddenly, near the bridge, a lightning bolt exploded on a clear sunny day.

This seemed to scare the villain, who froze on the spot, while the boy looked back to see what it was, fear clearly etched on his face.

Crackling sounds echoed as, from the curtain of smoke that formed, emerged a boy no older than 18, waving his hand in front of his face and coughing slightly.

"Damn... I wasn't expecting it to turn out like this."

The boy's voice was low and deep—the kind of voice that would easily get hired for a quick job and instantly become popular with women due to its deep and sexy timbre.

"Are, are," the boy murmured thoughtfully. "Look at what we have here... A monster and a little boy... Hmm, though one shouldn't judge a book by its cover, judging by the kid's scared expression, this sludge-faced guy must be the villain, right?"

"Run!" the frightened boy warned, shouting, "That's a villain!!"

"Villain?" The crimson-haired boy, with shoulder-length hair and teal eyes, looked at the 'villain' with great interest. "This is interesting!"

The villain spoke again: "A great individuality invisibility cloak, I want it!"

...

Zaydas hadn't expected that as soon as he appeared in another world, he'd be attacked by someone.

And looking at this 'villain,' he didn't feel a single ounce of fear.

"Sorry, I'm normal; I don't have any weird fetishes about getting involved with a sludge man. Don't take it personally~," he joked, as power surrounded his hands—power of destruction.

Extending his hands forward, the destructive power roared like a beast as it took the form of black lightning with dark red streaks, striking the giant sludge man.

"Boom!"

...

The boy from before fell backward onto the ground, sitting with his hands supporting him as he looked at the scene in shock.

"W-What terrible power..." he murmured.

This was because the villain simply ceased to exist.

...

Zaydas smiled.

[+500 CP]

[+1,500 CP]

[+10,000 CP]

It didn't matter what triggered the absurd amount of CP he earned. What truly mattered was that killing something so insignificant had earned him so much.

'Even though I'm happy with this amount of CP, why did it yield so much?' he asked in his mind.

[Responding. This world can easily be recognized by you if you think of it as part of the anime "My Hero Academia" that you watched in your previous life. And the reason for...]

'Ahhh, so that's it!' Zaydas had felt that this boy seemed familiar, as did the scenario, and he quickly understood: 'So, this is Izuku Midoriya. Does that mean I basically cut off his chance of meeting All Might, which is why I earned this absurd amount of CP?'

[Responding. Yes...]

'Haha, don't feel bad.' Zaydas said mentally: 'Next time, I'll let you finish speaking.'

[Warning! Because of your intervention, the chances of Izuku Midoriya obtaining One For All are low. If this causality occurs, your achievement will be acknowledged later.]

'Wait... So, even causing someone to lose their opportunities will earn me CP?'

[Responding. Yes, that is exactly correct. Any influence you have, depending on its causes and effects, can earn you more CP.]

Punching his left hand with excitement, Zaydas grew animated.

[Warning! If you intend to stay in this world longer, I recommend creating an identity. The quickest and easiest way is to use CP for this. A complete identity, without the need to speak, will cost 100 CP.]

Zaydas commanded: 'Do it. And change my age to 15. Hehe, if I want to earn more CP, I have to enroll in U.A. High School!'

[Affirmative! Give me a second!]

Meanwhile, Zaydas approached Izuku Midoriya, helping him up. "Are you okay?"

"Thank you..." Midoriya said as he grabbed Zaydas's hand and was pulled to his feet.

"Mm, be careful," Zaydas said. "I'm heading off now."

"Wait..." Midoriya seemed like he wanted to say something, but he lowered his head. However, when Zaydas was a few meters away, he shouted, bowing: "Thank you for saving me!!"

Zaydas raised a hand without looking back.

"Quirks"

Quirks manifesting in people was still something with a relatively recent history.

As special abilities began to appear in individuals one by one, they were initially considered supernatural phenomena or miracles. But now, 80% of the population possessed Quirks, and they had become commonplace. However, many people used their special powers for evil.

Criminal activity exploded. The population descended into chaos. Society collapsed in on itself.

But those who used their abilities to protect and fight for justice also emerged to oppose the criminals.

Heroes. Those who rescued the weak, stood against oppression, and firmly sided with justice. The dream that everyone aspired to had become a reality.

It quickly became a professional occupation due to a widely supportive public. Eventually, as their successes grew, they gained fame and steady income from the government.

But not everyone could become a hero. It was now necessary to have certification to perform hero work. Initially, using Quirks in public spaces was prohibited to maintain order.

To be recognized by the government, it became necessary for heroes to acquire professional licenses to freely use their Quirks. This need formed the foundation for schools with hero courses, which were essential for obtaining these Hero Licenses.

And, of course, there was the narrowest gate: the greatest obstacle—U.A. High School.

'So, you're telling me the time difference is 1/10?' Zaydas asked mentally.

[Responding. Correct. After a complete analysis, it was confirmed that there is a time difference of 1/10. And this difference can be increased using CP. Additionally, if you use 500 CP, when you return to your world, the time difference will either be reversed or adjusted to flow at the same speed.]

'Not bad,' Zaydas said mentally. 'This way, I don't have to worry about disappearing. And if I gather more CP, I want to try increasing the time difference to something close to 1/24.'

[Warning! Connection successfully established! You can now travel back and forth between the two worlds without any issues.]

Zaydas received the notification as he entered the shop: Mister Donut.

'Already?' Zaydas thought, then said to the donut shop attendant, "Ten donuts, five strawberry and five chocolate to eat here, and a large Coke, please."

"Right away!" the attendant replied promptly.

It didn't take long for the tray to be served.

Paying with the money he spent 1 CP to convert into yen used in this world—1 CP was converted into 100,000 yen.

It was a considerable amount, as he only spent 1,500 yen on 10 donuts and a large Coke.

After choosing a spot, he sat down.

While eating a chocolate donut, he asked mentally, 'If I return, the time difference will only be reversed if I spend CP, correct?'

[Affirmative!]

'I see... From what I've observed, this is the timeline a few months before the main characters enroll in U.A. High School,' Zaydas decided. 'For now, it's better if time in this dimension flows faster than in my world. I don't want to wait several months to enroll.'

Of course, if he really wanted to, he could join this year without waiting, but that wasn't of interest to him. Without the people he knew from the anime, what fun would that be?

Not to mention, his main goal was to gather CP, and logically speaking, it would yield more CP if it involved those with greater impact. A good example was Izuku Midoriya. Just by saving him from a villain, it earned him an absurd amount of CP.

Now, the question arose. Would Midoriya still obtain a Quirk? Would All Might still notice him or possibly pass his Quirk to someone else?

And even if he didn't get a Quirk, would Midoriya still participate in the hero entrance exam?

Suddenly, Zaydas had an idea!

'If... I made Midoriya gain some kind of power, would I earn CP?' Zaydas asked.

[Responding. That possibility cannot be denied. After all, it would count as an achievement log. Would you like to attempt creating a mission based on this idea?]

'I can do something like that?'

[Calculating...]

[Affirmative! However, if the power given to him is something useless, it won't necessarily yield CP. Everything depends on whether the recorded achievement is deemed worthwhile.]

'In other words, if I give Midoriya a power and it's useless to him, my achievement log will be miserable. But if I give him something useful... It will become a worthwhile achievement, correct?'

[Affirmative!]

'Alright, I want to try creating something that could be useful for Midoriya, but not overwhelmingly strong from the start—something that makes him grow gradually and steadily.'

With that in mind, he aimed to create a mission to grant Midoriya a power different from One For All.
