When I opened my eyes, the giant was in front of me again, like nothing happened.

While looking at the giant I shouted surprised "L...Last chance?! How am I supposed to beat this thing-"

I looked at the bench where the girl was sitting, but she wasn't there anymore, meanwhile, the giant noticed I was distracted and tried to stomp me. Fortunately, he was slow and I managed to dodge.

‘I have to run away now!’

I concentrated a bit of my aura on my legs, just the right amount to not break them, and ran into the city's heart, where high buildings close to each other could hide me from his sight. He wasn’t able to keep up with me and once I was far from him, I hid in a supermarket.

As I went in, I slowed down the pace, trying to regain my breath while I could vaguely hear his footsteps from a long distance.

I sat on one of the counters and brought my hands to my hair.

'Is all of this actually training or she wants me dead?' I shook my head at that thought

'She wouldn't need all of this just for that. Maybe she is finding all of this funny and watching it like a tv show-'

My thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a cry

'Is that…a kid? Are there people in this city?'

I went in the cry's direction and saw a scared boy sitting in a corner, he was probably around the age of 8 and there was one of those men, exactly like the ones I fought before, getting closer to him.

I ran towards the man and cut his head before he could sense my presence and I looked at his body as it fell to the ground

'If he's not the only one in this city then I'm fucked.' After thinking I looked at the child.

He had brown hair and bright yellow eyes, they were shiny like made of gold. He was still scared, so I kneeled to result less menacing and tried to reassure him with a calm voice.

"Hey, you are safe now. Have you been separated from your parents because of these old monsters?"

He slowly nodded and stopped crying but was still quivering.

"Do you remember where is your house?"

He nodded again.

"Then come with me, I'll bring you there. Your parents are probably waiting for you." I said with a smile and offered him my hand to help him get up.

After seconds of doubt, he wiped the tears and took my hand. As we both got up, a vast earthquake made us almost fall.

I took the kid in one of my arms and with the other hand I kept the wooden katana

‘Is he already here?’

I ran outside and the giant was coming closer with every footstep causing a mini earthquake; as the kid saw him quiver even more, I looked at him and said

“Ehy kid. Look at me and everything will be fine!” he nodded and kept his gaze locked on me. I smiled and started running away from the giant, even with the kid in my arms, I was still faster than that monster…but something didn’t seem right, it was too easy, all I had to do was to run away and bring that kid to his parents.

“Hey kid, do you remember where is your house?” I asked but he didn’t reply and kept his gaze low. At the same time, I started feeling a sense of uneasiness.

Suddenly, all the windows of the buildings around us broke off, many of those old barbaric men from before came out and in not even a second, we were surrounded, meanwhile the giant was coming closer and closer to us.

The kid was shaking like a life, but wasn’t crying, he just looked shocked.

‘I have to do something.’ I kept my grip tight on the katana, but as I tried to move most of the men rushed, blocked me in every way possible and took the kid from my arm.

“NO!” I tried to free myself but I didn’t have enough energy to fight them off.

“What do you want to do to him?!”

No answer.

Meanwhile, the kid was trying to free himself but couldn’t either and when the giant was close, he took him from the man and the ones blocking me forced me to open my mouth and raise my head, meanwhile, the giant closed the kid in his fist and brought it above me.

‘N-No! What do you want to do?!’ My mind started going crazy as I tried to figure out what they wanted to do and an answer arrived, the kid was releasing a powerful aura while trying to free himself

‘He has powers?! So, these monsters want to feed-’

With a quick move, the giant tightened his grip. Multitudes of sounds of broken bones could be heard, a lot of blood came out of his hand and some of it fell into my mouth. Weird enough, I didn’t have the urgency to vomit.

‘Maybe I’m already losing my humanity…?’

When I thought the giant had finished, he started moving his fingers, causing more sounds of broken bones and blood to come out.

He continued like this until there wasn’t any sound and then, he opened his hand, letting all the little pieces of flesh to fell. Most of them fell on the ground, but some of them fell into my mouth and I swallowed easily because of the position of my head.

After that, the men threw me against a palace, like they had some grudge towards me, they didn’t use much strength this time so I simply crushed in a room.

I was laying with my back against a bunch of rubbles, traumatized, tired and dirty with the kid’s blood.

“This has never been a training…this is just a massacre…" I told to myself.

I slowly I started feeling the kid’s powers flowing in my body, but when it touched my soul, I started having a vision, the kid’s memories were flashing before my eyes.
