The Last Spade Master
Knight in night

Knight in night

Siren kicked the man on his chest. He was sent flying away and landed on his butt.

Siren's swift and decisive actions left the men stunned. Rage filled their minds seeing one of them get beaten by a girl.

With fury burning in their eyes, they launched a coordinated attack, converging on Siren with the intent to overpower her. Yet, Siren remained calm and composed, letting them approach her.

As they closed in, one of the men attempted to strike her, but Siren deftly evaded his blow, delivering a sharp slap to his cheek in retaliation. Meanwhile, another assailant found himself on the receiving end of Siren's powerful kick, his face bearing the imprint of her boot.

Undeterred by their resistance, a burly man from the group seized Siren from behind. But Siren refused to yield, employing a clever maneuver to use her own body against him. With a forceful backward motion, she struck the man's face with the back of her head, causing him to release his hold and stagger backward.

He felt something drip from his nose. He touched his nose only to find a pool of blood. The enraged bulky approached Siren from behind who was currently fighting with other two men.

On seeing this, the girl from the bar who had been standing at the sideline and marveled at the fighting skills of Siren turned alert.

The bulky felt something hard hit the back of his head. He turned around to see the girl who they had chased standing at the sideline with one of her shoes missing from her legs.

"How dare you? You bitch, let me teach you a lesson ", Bulky yelled and ran towards the girl.

The girl closed her eyes tightly and stood rooted in her place. But before the man could reach her, a strong kick landed on the side of his face. Blood spattered from his mouth due to the strong blow. He landed on the ground with a loud thud.

Breathless and shaken, the girl cautiously opened her eyes, expecting to see the chaos and danger still unfolding around her. To her surprise, she found that the once menacing men who had pursued her now lay scattered on the ground, subdued and defeated.

Her eyes roamed for the possible sight of the girl with electric blue eyes who came like her knight in the night. But no trace of her was seen. She vanished like thin air just like how she appeared before her.

When she heard one of the drunkards grunt in pain, her eyes widened. She hastily bolted from the place, thanking her saving grace in her heart.

Unbeknownst to her, a black car sat parked nearby, it's dark exterior blending seamlessly into the shadows of the night. Inside the vehicle, a figure watched the events unfold with keen interest, his green eyes gleaming with amusement at the spectacle before them.

With a knowing smirk, the figure muttered to the man at the driver seat, his voice laced with intrigue and anticipation, "Interesting, isn't she?."

In the clandestine setting of the dimly lit room, amidst the shadows cast by the flickering red light, an assembly of elite individuals convened. They wore masks to conceal their identities, their true selves veiled behind a facade of anonymity.

Among them, a woman in her late forties, her demeanor exuding confidence and cunning, played her hand with calculated precision. With a triumphant smirk, she laid down the final card, sealing her victory once again.

"As expected from Ms. Silver", a man named Carlos who was sitting near her clapped and praised her.

The other men around the table groaned and pulled their hair in frustration. This is the fifth game they lost in the battle of decks to this woman. This is not new though. The people around the table are familiar with each other at the same time they are not.

In this game of high stakes and hidden agendas, trust was a rare commodity, and alliances were forged and broken with the turn of a card. As the night wore on, the players remained locked in their battle of wits, their true intentions concealed behind their masks of deception.

"Darling, why don't you bring me a glass of wine", Ms. Silver ordered Carlos in a sweet voice.

Carlos suppressed the surge of anger that bubbled within him as he responded with a tight-lipped smile. With practiced grace, he rose from his seat, his movements betraying none of the turmoil that churned within.

He went directly to the bar counter and gave his order. He took a seat near the counter and looked towards the place where he came from.

A fair boy in his early twenties who was wearing a leather strap around his neck and black skinny pants kneeling in front of Ms. Silver and licking her feet.

He gritted his teeth on seeing this. He didn't pity the boy on her knees, in contrast, he envied that woman who has that power. He came out of the daze when he heard a voice.

"Hey hottie, care for a shot".
