Prologue Part 4/3: The Price You Pay

the Old Man used his skill and linked the five souls together. Bright gold strings came from their heart and intertwine together. When the string finished twisting, he then urged one of the three beauties to step up; to ‘talk’ with the girl.  

“My child you are going to be send to another world. As a gift from us, (although it’s partially our fault) we will give you three power that you wish. A cautious reminder: the world is not like Earth, it is filled with magic, dangerous creatures and frightful beings. Name three my child.” Lady J spoke to Kumon.

“…………...can my wish be of use towards the old world?” Kumon

“…. Yes but why?” the Old Man asked.

“My three wishes are for Nisan to find happiness. For my four protector to survive their death. Lastly, to be able to sleep comfortably.” Kumon answered.

She continued, “My brother took care of me when my world is broken. Likewise, I became the only pillar of support he had. At least, let there be a person who can love him as how he had loved and sacrificed for me. The four guards would surely be dead if I died, saving the kittens were my action not their negligence. They have protected me well, allow me to protect them in this last hour. Consider this as my parting gift for them. Well, I love sleeping tee hee.”

The Old Man

‘Human are creatures of greed’ a fact known to many of the Divine and he observed this fact time after time when a soul will be send/summoned to another world. Each time, he will be there to give them three wishes as stated by the Old Contract.

For thousands of years, great wishes were asked to the old man. , , , , , and even . One chose to be a but only intend to use it to gain fame and power. Their creativity was endless as were their desire. For that, some thrive in their pursuit in glory while many others perish, swallowed and forgotten by the sand of time. The one thing that never occurred till this day is when the chosen person wishes for another’s happiness or even to benefit another. Kumon true desire touched the Old Man’s heart.

Bounded by , he fulfilled her wish with his up-most ability. Though what he can do on Earth was severely limited, he makes sure that damn Cupid does her job and interfered just enough to make sure the four survived from the child’s brother onslaught but for her last wish, the Old Man gave it his all.

With power that can even make the God of War cower, the intelligence of the Old God and experience gained from the rise and fall of other world travelers, he proceeded to prepare his gift for the child.

‘Thank goodness her wish was very subjective’ he snickered.
