Chapter 5: Breaker of Chains
[Sylon Iyeles, Council Member, The First.]
Sylon Iyeles, the 1st rank of The Council step up.
“Your Highness, this humble servant’s name is Sylon from the house of Iyeles. Housing healers since the first Emperor. The thirteen in front of your highness are The Council. Your loyal servants. Each as strong as ten thousand men with unique magic of their own at your disposal. All of which governing houses that rule parts of this mighty Empire. We are to forever serve the one who hold the Sigil.” As he his index finger pointing at his forehead, hinting of the Sigil on her forehead.
“Under the previous Emperor’s command, the massacre in front of Your Highness took place.” Sylon continued on about the reasoning behind the order as he tried to calm his heart from his anguish and resentment any further.
“Now, that we are no longer bounded by his command, this humble servant bequest of your Majesty’s grace to let us give them a proper burial.” He requested with his head bowing to the New Emperor.

[Kumon, The New Emperor]
She looked at him with a daze, a bit confused.
“You say you are loyal to me but aren’t you just bound to me by this Sigil? Will your loyalty remain once this Sigil is lost?”
“You say you govern houses but those people behind you that you slaughtered, were they not your houses? Were they not this Empire’s citizen?”
“Are you trying to trick me Sylon of house Iyeles? The same person who claimed to be my loyal servant just a moment ago?”
“We wouldn’t dare Your Highness. The Emperor’s ‘Will’ shall be forever be the Council’s command.” The Council replied in unison.
“Fools! You are the Council are you not? Then council!! Or should I change your name to slaves; unable to think on their own nor object when it is clear as day the command is a mistake. Or Dogs that only know to follow orders.”
The Council immediately kneel and stood silence. They know the hypocrisy of their existence. The Council is only by name, bounded by the Sigil, they were chosen by the house that they were from to follow the Emperor’s Orders. Devoid of any free will. Never to say no. Powerful puppets raise from birth with that single purpose. Given riches to mirage their loyalty from their true status: Slaves of the Emperor.
Each of the thirteen house serve as the head of their own House. The head of the house is bounded to the Sigil to serve the Emperor. In kind, the Emperor rewards the houses for their service. Those who question the system is deem disloyal to the Emperor thus eliminated. The cycle repeats for the last thousand years to produce loyal retainers for the Emperor.
Kumon understood the system’s logic. A good dictator is better than a bad democracy. An empire is as strong as the pillars supporting it. But slavery is not the way. With her closest confidence have no power to speak or advice, the power given as an Emperor will corrupt the person for the worse.
Every life is precious and not to be taken whimsically. Even if it’s the Emperor. Especially if it’s the Emperor.

An Emperor is a ruler. A position of responsibility. Not a toy to satisfy one’s ego.
Oh… why did I kill the previous Emperor? Now I have to clean up this mess.
And no I’m not pushing my responsibility to The Council because I just want to sleep. No…
Standing on all four, Kumon wave her front right paw.
Like a blast from a tornado, humongous surge of mana blasted from the little mammal as it gathered behind the thirteen. Oppressive and strong in nature, the mana itself forced not only the thirteen but also all those who have keen mana senses in the whole continent to kneel down. May it be the Dragon King in the further north or the Demon Lords from the Demonic Army, all shall bow to the New Emperor.
What happens next defy even the logic of this mana rich world. Rapidly, the mess of the massacre began to reshape itself. Burned corpse began to reform. Sliced body parts mend itself. Even the blood dyeing the floor red began to clump back to their original bodies. Finally, after all the bodies reshape themselves. a blast of white light filled the throne room. Blowing life back to those who died there.

Destroyed Sigil of the EmperorWith the Sigil of the Emperor broken, bond with The Council is severed. They will no longer be forced to carry your command or orders.
The current title 'Emperor' will still remain unless be granted to another.
“With this, I hereby abdicate my throne. Choose your own Emperor and bring this Empire to its glory. Never again shall any of us stood in silence and watch innocence be slaughtered nor evil be reign free.”
Yawning, the little kitten slowly closes her eyes and fell back to sleep on the throne.
Hopefully, with this, they won’t disturb me again.
Oh yes, I need to check my status. Maybe tomorrow.
