TREASURES IN DEAD HANDS.

TOR'S SIDE:

He had actually left for this spot after Tori vanished, he already knew where she had gone but from what he understood of her character so far, she would not interfere with this battle one bit. The Ape had been roaring in a deafening rage nonstop and it was clear to Tor that the dragon soul he had seen flying this way earlier had rebuilt and possessed the Ape's body. There were also the three corpses who got to his location first, each of them looked quite strong with pale blue light shining from their eye-sockets. 'Although I'm sure you won't understand, but lets make this fast, I have an appointment with your boss.' Tor said as he made no attempt to even take a fighting stance.

Without wasting even a second, one of the corpses formed a bow out of the Soul Consuming Fire, while the other formed a bow made of Dark Matter, the only reason he could tell it was Dark Matter was because the Great Elder had once kept some in a trophy case and claimed to have stolen it from an organisation even he did not know about until a certain conflict caused a battle between them. In truth Dark Matter was so rare that the people who had some could be counted on one hand at most and it was also very volatile so if its weilder was weak, it would consume him instead.

Just when he thought he had seen it all, the last corpse took out a cursed sword that seemed to blot out any light from the area they stood, this made Tor's vision to be impaired, almost immediately both corpses who had the bows began to rapidly fire arrows at Tor who was a distance away from them. 'They even have great coordination.' Tor thought to himself but as the Soul Consuming and Dark Matter arrows were about to hit him, it was absorbed by the invisible spatial shield around him. This caused the corpses to increase their fire rate and little by little Dark Matter began eating up his shield which was evident as some parts became visible like the after burn of paper turning into ash. With this both arrows began penetrating through and Tor was dodging them like he could see their trajectory. The whole event was very fast and would hardly be followed by regular eyes but immediately the spatial barrier broke and Tor began to dodge, the Ape jumped from the distance it was and pounced in the direction Tor was moving to, as it landed with a loud boom, both its feet and hands smashed into the ground and caused it to cave in while soul fire rose from underneath.

'I must confess, that was a bit dangerous.' Tor said as the dust and fire had calmed down a bit and he appeared in front of the corpse with the Soul consuming bow. 'Now i seem to have adjusted to the dark.' he continued with a smile as he grabbed onto the leather armour of the corpse, but before he could take any action, the corpse with the cursed sword had already reached where Tor had appeared and slashed his sword realeasing a large ray of cursed energy which made Tor blink to avoid the slash but as he appeared in the air above them, both corpses continued to rapidly fire arrows while moving apart from each other. Tor was dodging the arrows in the air as he was falling and although the arrows were moving at a very high velocity, none could even match his speed, it was as though he was flying downwards rather than falling and he was aiming for the Ape who was building up the Soul fire and looking at him savagely. Just before he made impact with the Ape who threw out a punch with all its might and the soul fire was burning the surrounding arid lands, Tor compressed the space between him and the Ape this caused the impact to be the weight of the space between Tor and the Ape which was similar to a profound increase in gravity pressing down on the Ape.

This all occured within a very brief period of time but the whole terrain had changed with just that strike, there was a very huge hole in that area and fissures which extended a far distance. It was still dark because of cursed sword's ability and the archer corpses had stopped firing arrows because they were unsure of the outcome. 'You dead things shouldn't stop now, come at me.' The figure that appeared amidst the dust that rose and was walking towards the three corpses said in his usual tone. The corpse with the cursed sword did not wait for a second invitation and rushed in at Tor with lightning pace while the other two kept firing their arrows rapidly, Tor was dodging the arrows by the time the sword corpse reached and swung his sword with lightning speed technique but Tor dodged each strike with ease and appeared behind the corpse with around house kick which it blocked but got pushed back none the less. Tor then took off at lighning speed towards the corpse with the Dark Matter bow and since both corpses were firing at him, he had to dodge while advancing towards his target.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

At that same moment, a roar of rage could be heard from within the crater, the Ape leapt out of it and landed on the ground causing it to cave in a little while soul fire consumed its surroundings, the other corpses which had been running in Tor's direction had reached and at this moment he could tell that if he kept playing around, things would only get more annoying. The Tor who had been dodging the arrows and steadily reducing the distance, suddenly vanished and appeared on top the corpse with the Dark Matter Bow, without thinking too much he grabbed its head and plunged it into the ground and only a word could be heard escape his lips. 'Devour.' In that second dark purple mist mixed with the blue soul could be seen flowing out of the corpse and into Tor, but out of nowhere the cursed sword corpse appeared trying to use the distraction as a chance to attack but as he slashed out, the sound of metal hitting metal rang out so loudly it created a sonic attack that cut apart the corpses that were close. 'So this is what Dark Matter feels like.' Tor thought to himself as a black shield with purple electricity had blocked the surprise attack fom the corpse and as Tor looked at the sword Corpse, he had black pupils and similarly purple electricity flashed through it.

With a thought, the shield turned into a sword just the right length for him as he dropped the empty shell of the corpse that had the dark matter, the cursed sword corpse did not stop attacking as his blows were getting faster and stronger but Tor was matching him blow for blow and Tor did a 360 as he dodged the attack and was behind the Sword corpse, with one fluid movement he cut off all its limbs before burying the Dark Matter sword deep in its skull. At that moment because of the sheer destruction caused by exchanging blows with the sword corpse, all the other regular corpses around had been minced, now only the ape and the archer remained both standing as though waiting to see Tor's next move.

NEAR THE CITY WALLS:

The elite guard captain groaned in pain as some blood spurted out of his lips 'Princess, for real if you dont help now I will really die.' He said in a tone that clearly showed that he was begging. 'I think you can hold out more though, I'm not the one who is meant to help you, sorry.' she said but her voice reflected no emotion of being 'sorry.' The guard captain realised that he could really only depend on himself to survive. 'Hmmm, I did not notice you earlier because i was in the heat of the battle or is it because you're clearly here but i cannot even feel any presence like what I am seeing is not in front of me. Little girl can you tell me who you are?' It was clear that he was about to deliver his finishing blow to the captain but still stopped to ask for Tori's identity. 'Don't be so cautious, I'm not interested in interfering just carry on.' Tori responded without trying to satisfy his and the old man's curiousity. 'Very good I can just ask your soul when I'm eating it, just wait there like you have been doing until im done.' The cloaked figure said in a savage voice as the blue Soul Consuming fire errupted from his Bone Sword and he walked calmly toward the guard captain who was on his feet now and apart from looking roughed up, there wasn't much damage dealt on him.
