Chapter 78 - The Blur’s Recovery And Electrifying Interrogation

Devon's eyes fluttered open to a bright artificial light shining directly in his face. He winced and squinted as his vision adjusted. The pungent medicinal smell and sterile white walls indicated he was in some kind of infirmary.

"Oh thank god you're awake!" came a relieved voice beside him. Devon turned his head to see Tanya sitting in a chair next to his bed, very concerned.

"What the…?" Devon mumbled, his throat dry. "How I reach here?"

"I brought you to the Sanctum Healing Centre after your battle with Purple Rod," Tanya explained. "Your injuries were severe so I figured this place would help restore your health safely without compromising your identity."

Devon glanced down, noticing the bandages wrapped tightly around his chest and limbs. He ached all over but nothing seemed permanently damaged.

Tanya helped ease him into a sitting position, then handed him a glowing elixir. "Here, drink this. It's a Rum Punch potion specially formulated to accelerate cell regeneration in heroes."

Devon accepted the potion and sniffed its pungent fruity aroma suspiciously before downing the mystical concoction. A soothing warmth spread through his body as the potion's rejuvenating properties kicked in, mending damaged tissue and dulling pain receptors.

"Yeah man, I feel the vibe already," Devon admitted as his strength started returning to his battered form. "But what happened to Poison Dart? She get way inna the madness?"

"No worries, we have her contained at Lovers Beach cave," Tanya assured. "I made sure to hide her well and bind her thoroughly before bringing you here. Can't trust anyone these days, especially after Detective Colmbs turn out to be that blasted Purple Rod villain!"

Devon agreed with a nod while slipping out of bed gingerly. The Rum Punch potion had worked its magic - he felt good as new, which was a good thing, otherwise, he would have to formulate some excuse to tell his mother.

Making his way outside, Devon found an electrical outlet and channelled its current to recharge his depleted Dread Charge. With batteries fully topped off, he flexed and shattered the cast around his right arm as arcing tendrils of electricity danced across his dreadlocks.

Soon Devon and Tanya were en-route to interrogate Poison Dart, suited up as The Blur and Cocoa Fox.

"That fool Purple Rod mash up my whole body with him rock hard fist, bumboclaat!" The Blur fumed. "If mi never discharge that Dread Bolt Cannon directly through him thick skull, him woulda murder me."

"True, but at least now we have Poison Dart," Cocoa Fox replied. "She must know where them keeping Cain and the whole Loki-7 operation. We can’t ease up on her till she spill the truth!"

Reaching the cave hideout, they found Poison Dart bound by reinforced vines, looking dishevelled but still defiant.

"Chat the info now before mi lose patience!" The Blur roared, charging his dreadlocks as a warning.

But Poison Dart merely spat at his feet in response. “Stop wasting your breath, stupid brat.”

“Alright you ask for this.” Fed up with her stubbornness, The Blur unleashed a savage torrent of electricity through Poison Dart's body. Her screams echoed off the cave walls as she convulsed violently.

"Easy there Blur, yuh too relentless!" Cocoa Fox cried in alarm. She had never seen her friend torture anyone so mercilessly.

“No, she needs more zapping.” He continued to spark her ass up repeatedly until she could scream no more.

Finally, The Blur relented his assault. Smoke rose from Poison Dart's trembling form, which depicted her broken resilience. "Aright, mi will talk now," she croaked weakly. "Just don’t zap me again, please."

“That’s more like it. Now talk before I release another dosage!” The tip of his dreads was already brimming with electrifying emission.

“Ok! I’ll tell you…”

Poison Dart revealed Cain's location - an offshore oil rig refinery converted into a neon chemical laboratory. Lord Skull and his top scientists were there extracting essence from Cain's body to synthesize a new formula weaponizing his Coco Power on an industrial scale. She gave the specific coordinates of the clandestine facility.

Cocoa Fox quickly cross-checked the data on her wrist computer. "Checks out - there's indeed an unregistered rig at those coordinates, could be where them hiding the whole operation!"

"Yuh better not lie, or I soon return," The Blur warned. Satisfied they finally had a solid lead, he prepared to depart and gear up for a raid on the oil rig, determined to rescue Cain from Lord Skull's clutches.

While the heroes are exiting the cave, Poison Dart called after them weakly. Her stomach grumbled louder than her mouth. "Wait! What about my food? Mi belly empty bad! You can’t keep me prisoner and not feed me. Are you bloody insane?"

Annoyed, The Blur flicked a charged dreadlock that delivered a nasty shock, knocking her unconscious again. "There is yuh food. Hope it last you through the night," he muttered before speeding off into the night to return home before his mother gets worried.

Cocoa Fox could only watch her partner disappear, troubled by his increasing coldness towards enemies. The path of a warrior hero was never easy, but she feared where Blur's quest for vengeance might lead him if left unchecked. With a heavy sigh, she slipped into the darkness, preparing for the battles yet to come.
