Richard decided to keep away from the grounds to avoid getting questioned by the people. His head was hurting after getting reminded of the marriage.
Getting back to the fish pond, Richard decided to try out the Fireball technique. It was a powerful technique for an E-rank.
It had flames reaching at least 120 and an explosive force that could destroy large trees. It was like a grenade without the shrapnel.
Richard had low reserves and most of his energy had been eaten away by the training and the spar, so he could only manage in making a tiny and ineffective version.
Taking out some meat and dates, Richard consumed them to recharge his energy while thinking of the contents of the book.
Unlike the underwater breathing, he couldn’t use the fire ball many times because of the cost. Just like the other elemental skills, this one also had its own unique symbol that Richard drew on the ground multiple times before trying for real.
Fire was the result of a chemical reaction called combustion. At a certain point in the combustion reaction, called the ignition point, flames were produced. Flames consisted primarily of carbon dioxide, water vapor, oxygen, and nitrogen.
Fire emits heat and light because the chemical reaction that produced flames was exothermic. In other words, combustion released more energy than was needed to ignite or sustain it. In order for combustion to occur and flames to form, three things must be present: fuel, oxygen, and energy (usually in the form of heat). Once energy starts the reaction, it continued so long as fuel and oxygen were present.
Molecules would start moving faster because of the heat and if heated enough, they would go from gas to Plasma.
It also meant that reducing the speed of the molecules would decrease the temperature and allow Richard to cool down an area.
Nonetheless, he didn’t have the accurate knowledge for such experiments or the energy to supply such madness.
Getting back to the fireball, normally people formed it above their hands while Richard used his breath. Going through the process for the technique, Richard imagined the process and the molecules heating up.
To make it easier, he used the air from his lungs. It was air that had carbon dioxide and his Ki mixed in, making it easier than just having Ki form the flames.
Just like that, Richard ended up breathing out a small ball of fire that fell after few feet and in to the water.
It was a success because of his understanding on the subject and it would have been stronger if Richard was a science major.
With just basic knowledge on the subjects, Richard had to think hard to remember all these things and he still couldn’t remember majority of the things.
Creating the flames was a success and now he needed to make them hotter. For that he decided to just use his hands and not risk his vital parts.
Moving through the Ki map for the skill, Richard moved his hand through the air and caused the Ki to interact with it.
It ended up using more energy and formed a ball that was even small than the previous one.
Regardless, it was still a success.
This was the advantage of having knowledge of the subject and a reincarnated soul.
Trying another time, Richard used more Ki and desired the molecules to go into frenzy. After using the technique twice with molecules and the right components in mind, Richard was starting to get a feel for them.
It was getting easier to form the flame symbol and it was shining brighter with his familiarity.
The ball formed from the third attempt was big as a tennis ball and very hot. Richard didn’t have any temperature knowing skill but he could feel that the heat was close to the boiling point of water, 100 degrees Celsius.
Having familiarity with flames helped in forming them, and he managed to get it 78 degrees. His hands didn’t burn because of the protection from Ki and the distance but he still felt the heat.
His techniques could backfire on him if he wasn’t careful. With the ball formed, Richard decided to use the remaining Ki to test his control.
It turned out to be the hardest part for the technique as Ki was really difficult to manipulate outside the body.
No matter how he tried, the only thing he could do was shooting it or throwing it.

Finishing up with the fire experiment, Richard decided to check out Wind. With wind element practice, it should help him with fire and water.
Thinking such things, Richard sat down and meditated for a while to produce more Ki. His reserves were low and he needed some rest before continuing.
Ki training was a tedious job and needed persistence to continue it. It was like gym; repetitive, boring, tiring and painful.
Not everyone could handle such a thing. Fortunately, unlike gym training this one showed results faster at the initial stages. In the later stages, it wasn’t rare to have no progress even after years.
Richard was used to working under stress and even when he felt completely bored, so it wasn’t too difficult for him.
The only problem was that he was in a different world and in the current situation, or he would have zero issues with the training.
Avoiding negative thoughts, Richard only focused on his work and tried after five minutes break. He couldn’t tell the time and just went with his feeling.
He didn’t know if his dream was possible but he would at least try to avoid the regret and guilt in his heart.
Doing nothing but wishing would only waste time, time that could be utilized to create the optimum level Richard.
With that positive mindset, Richard started testing the Wind resistance technique.
Wind was moving air and was caused by differences in air pressure within our atmosphere. It was produced by the uneven heating of the earth’s surface by the sun where air under high pressure moved toward areas of low pressure. The greater the difference in pressure, the faster the air flowed.
Warm air weighed less than cold air so it rose and then cool air moved in, replacing the rising warm air. This movement of air was what made the wind blow.
Wind movement was normal in most places around the planet but it could pick up and create storms where it moved at speeds of 300 plus miles per hour.
Air was mostly nitrogen (78%) and oxygen (21%).
Air resistance described the forces that were in opposition to the relative motion of an object as it passed through the air. These drag forces acted opposite to the oncoming flow velocity, thus slowing the object down. Unlike other resistance forces, drag depended directly on velocity, since it was the component of the net aerodynamic force acting opposite to the direction of the movement.
Another way to put it would be to say that air resistance was the result of collisions of the object’s leading surface with air molecules. It could therefore be said that the two most common factors that had a direct effect upon the amount of air resistance were the speed of the object and the cross-sectional area of the object. Ergo, both increased speeds and cross-sectional areas would result in an increased amount of air resistance.
This meant that a person moving fast would experience huge amounts of resistance which would increase with the speed.
It also meant that with increased speed, the person would also cause too much noise and even affect the surrounding. That would be a negative in most cases as it would leave clues for others to track.
It was essential for warriors to know Wind resistance techniques to avoid getting caught and lowering their Ki consumption.
With the knowledge in his head, Richard operated the new skill and formed the wind symbol. Using the fireball and water skill helped with the usage of the wind technique as Richard interacted with the air molecules.
It worked easily and Richard tested it out by punching the air. He could feel the difference instantly as his fist moved faster and there was less resistance.
It wasn’t perfect, but it worked. He just needed more practice and it would be perfect.
Success brought him joy and lightened the negative feelings in his heart. Richard didn’t stop and repeated the process few more times before taking a break.
After the break, Richard went back to his normal practice since he didn’t have much Ki to spare. He would test out the rest after eating lunch, so he just needed to finish the normal training.
While Richard was busy with his training, Noah had taken a team to investigate the woods for enemies. The villagers had been commanded to stop any movement to Nadir village or the Woods.
All the men under Charles were fully armed and on their toes for any suspicious movements. Not even birds were allowed to fly from the village to avoid messages from spies.
In total Charles had 100 men under him, majority were at the beginner level of foundation realm while 10 of them were at the peak of foundation realm.
That didn’t account for the 100’s of villagers that were in the Ki refining realm with basic training. It was common for nobles to use farmers as soldiers, so Charles decided to give every able men and women some basic training.
The situation was very much serious especially if the aggressor was a Baron. Even if it was just a Knight, it would cause loss of lives that weren’t easy to replace.
It wasn’t the first time that Noah had participated in a battle between nobles. He did mercenary work and joined some battles for experience and coin.
But, the current situation felt different. It was personal as he had many reasons to keep the village safe with his life.
Hearing the genuine praise from Charles about his son, Noah knew that Richard had been acknowledged in the truest sense.
His son would rise with the Harrison House, so he couldn’t allow it to fall.
“Boss, how are you feeling? I want to remind you that we all expect a feast tonight, so don’t get cold feet on us.”
Noah was completely focused on the task as they walked towards the woods when one of his men talked to him.
The man was called Kyle. He had messy brown hair and brown eyes. He was a bit shorter than Noah and on the slim side.
He was Sarah’s husband, the woman that his parent’s had wanted him to marry after Lala hadn’t given birth even after a year.
Kyle was an energetic guy who looked and sounded very friendly. He was a guy that did what he liked. He liked to sleep around and kept Sarah, even though she liked Noah.
He didn’t mind as long as he had a pretty looking woman by his side. It wasn’t like Noah would take an interest.
Just like the rest of the villagers, the warriors were also happy about the marriage. It brought them hope and it allowed them to enjoy festivities.
“I will let you guys eat till you burst, so don’t worry about it. I will never be stingy when it comes to my family.” Noah replied with cheerful tone and got a good reaction from the guys for his words.
“Don’t regret it boss.”
“Yeah, no take backs.”
“Okay, enough fooling around. Focus on the task, locate the enemies and regroup.” Noah stopped the group from getting boisterous like usual. It was the most dangerous situation for the village and none of them had any real experience with such events.
The group of 10 was divided in 2 and they moved into the woods. The Shadow Jaguar lived on the right side of the woods, so they moved in that direction separately to cover more space and not stand out.
