They're just simple bandits, I'm strong physically. I can take them. I thought and exhaled. I nodded once, breathed, then exhaled, Alright, let's do this.
I jumped out of my hiding spot and joined the fight between the disciples and the bandits, as I planned, I helped the disciples fight the bandits.
"HA! You're all fucked!" one of the bandits yelled as I got near one of them and hit him square in the temple with my bat, his brain matter splattered all over everyone including myself but that wasn't what surprised the cultivators because they were staring at me as if I'm sort of enigma they haven't understood. Understandable since they probably expected me to help the bandits fight.
"Y-you were supposed to help us!" one of the first two bandits that stalked this group said while pointing at me, "we're part of the Poison Bandits you moron!" I don't know why but for some reason, everyone just stood there and stared while the guy talked. "You- how can you-"
I wasn't part of everyone and hit the guy in the head, causing more blood and brain matter to spill on my and everyone else's clothes. "Traitor!" one of the bandits yelled and they all converged on me.
There are three of them, two carried swords and the remaining one carried a spear. All wore robes. I knew that their plan of attack is based off of their weapons, with the swordsmen going near and striking hard while the spearmen would occasionally barge in to give out a hit or two when they think their target isn't looking.
And I was paying a lot of attention to the spearman while keeping the two other swordsmen at bay with a small blizzard.
I dodged a hit and stepped sideways, putting one of the swordsmen in between me and the spearman whilst also getting away from the other one. I parried a slash with my bat and gave out a kick to the shin, the swordsman dodged it.
My head swerved left and dodged the pointed tip of a spear, I tried to retaliate by hitting the weapon's body in hopes of breaking it. Clang. My ice met resistance but the spearman's posture went down. I know that he'd be out for a few seconds because of what I did so I tried to strike the nearest enemy with my bat, he dodged and smiled before his eyes glowed bright yellow and I suddenly found out that I couldn't move my body.
I felt something bury itself in my chest and pain along with something hot and wet started to spread across it. The bandit pulled the sword out of his chest and kicked me in the stomach, I didn't fall and held my ground, "for someone who's in the Body Refinement Realm, you sure are weak huh?" he mocked and raised his sword, in the corner of my eye, his two companions already resumed the fight between the disciples and themselves.
I didn't even bother to wonder why the disciples didn't help and only stared at the bandit in front of me. He sighed, "a traitor like you deserves a fate worse than death so consider this mercy," he raised his sword and smirked, "hoh? Your hands are shaking, afraid? Good."
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"N-nho," I couldn't speak because of the blood that's pooling in my mouth but I tried to regardless, "I-" it's because I'm scared what would happen to them when I circulate my Qi for the second time today.
I didn't get to say those words because the bandit already swung his sword. I spat my blood in his mouth and with my remaining strength, I jumped away as far as I could before letting go of the reins that prevented my Qi from flooding my meridians.
The wind sang, it started as a whine, then slowly, got stronger until it sounds like a scream of pain. The sound started to surround us, and as if it was some sort of bad open, the scream got followed by thick frost forming in the air. It didn't even take a single moment before everything around me turned white.
Then came the ice.
It started at the bottom of my feet, then it grew out and expanded until it reached the bandit, it froze his bare feet to the ground, getting it stuck in an icey prison that he couldn't get out of because the ice is sucking in all of his Qi. Bit my bit, ice spikes formed all around me, some, the ones that were so weak that they couldn't hold on, got carried away by the wind, the sharpened ice flew and flew until it hit an unfortunate bandit in the stomach. The ice didn't do anything to the guy's superhuman body but from his expression, I knew that he still felt the pain.
I looked away from him and focused on the bandit that was about to kill me, "You wanna know why I'm pretty weak for a cultivator my Realm?" come to think of it, how did he know what realm I am on? I put that question aside and focused back to the bandit, "well-" I raised my bat and hit him in the head causing it to break apart like a fruit, "-am I weak now?"
As if I'd tell you why. I thought with a wince. The pain in my chest disappeared when I circulated my Qi and no doubt it's only because of it that I'm probably even standing right now. So I let it go wild and sat down while my Qi is freezing my body. Right, freezing my body.
I looked down on my chest, took a deep breath, and started cultivating.
I remembered the feeling of getting ice to grow on my bat and focused on it, I used that feeling as a base and compass while I "healed" my chest. I pushed as much Qi as I could onto it and I felt my blood stop running, coagulate, and seconds later, freeze. I felt my blood stop pouring out of my chest as it started to harden.
I took a deep breath and released it. Then I touched my chest and felt it beating weakly. Thank god I refined my heart and veins.
I didn't want to risk anything with my current health so I let my wound heal for a bit before I lowered the output of my Qi to let the blizzard dissipate. The frost died down soon, everything got clear enough for me to see- To my right sat a ball of green, it is made of bark, leaves, and other hard plant matter. Guess I found where the disciples are. Clever. I complimented the girl before looking around to spot the two remaining bandits. Ouch.
Unlike the three disciples (or just the girl, who knows,) the two bandits suffered from my blizzard and right now, they're frozen stiff with large chunks of their bodies covered in ice. One of them looked dead while I can clearly see the other shiver, the one that looked alive is the swordsman and he had his arm positioned in front of him in a swinging motion. It was frozen- actually, no, the thing is outright made of ice. - but at least the swordsman is alive.
He wouldn't be for longer. I thought when I saw the plant ball slowly uncover. I stood up and ignored the stiff feeling all over my body, And I would be too if I don't start moving.
I don't know why the three disciples didn't help me when I was fighting the bandits but that sure as hell isn't a friendly sign. Because if they expected the "Traitor" and the bandits to kill each other then I don't think they'd hesitate to kill any of them when they're at their weakest. And right now, this little traitor is crippled.
I slowly inched away from the scene.
