Lost Memories I

Warmth...

Summer... A beautiful day with a beautiful sun. The forest so silent and so... peaceful. These were supposed to be hard times for the world yet the Nehpilims never felt it.

Kelika, a tall woman covered in a golden plated armor was standing on a stump. Her voice was as sweet as honey. She was waiting for someone. While the people were coming she kept singing an old song.

Her eyes were deep blue yet you could not see the rest her face as the helmet was covering it.

"Brother Kain, where are you?"

From behind Kelika two figures appeared. Both of them were much taller.

Kain had a rather bulky armor compared to the other two.

"Tarex! You came as well?"

Tarex, her little brother was joining the expedition as well. The armor itself was black with golden edges.

They were all equipped with a special weapon except for Tarex.

Kelika had a ornate spear and Kain a great war axe.

"It is nice to see you again sister. It's been so long."

"Come here little brother."

Tarex got closer to his sister. She hugged him tightly for a few moments.

"Something happened?"

"It's just that, I didn't think I will see you this soon."

"Kelika, I promise I will visit you more."

"I'm glad."

Kain stopped their touching reunion.

"We should get moving. Hope you are prepared... Outside our weald it's considered enemy territory."

"Brother Kain, why did you bring Tarex if it's dangerous?"

"Vesper told us to bring him along."

"Any particular reason?"

"He said Tarex is a Sigma."

She paused for a moment. Kelika looked at Tarex and put her hands on his cheeks.

"We will keep protecting you no matter what father says."

The girl turned back to Kain and told him to keep going.

Soon the three of them made their way outside and reached a village.

The people were simple. Most of them farmers, a few traders were also around. Of course everyone was scared when seeing them. Even Kelika, the smallest of them was enormous compared to the villagers.

The girl along with Tarex waited near a bench under a tree. They were standing on the ground so they wouldn't destroy the bench itself.

"How is it brother? Seeing how this people live... It seems much more... Easier."

"Very different compared to Sillacet. Although I do like it."

"It truly is different. It makes you wonder why were they forsaken?"

"For a sin they did not commit. I believe evil is in everyone... Depends if they accept it or not. These people... You can see it, they are afraid, if they had the power they would trample us... Just because we are different."

"That's a really grim way to look at this. Let me share my belief. I think in everyone there is good... No matter how bad they might look or actually be. Deep down we are all the same."

"You put too much faith in everyone Kelika."

She turned to her brother and put her finger on his nose.

"You need to trust people more."

"Heh... Alright, I'll try at least."
