Chapter 22 – Luosa

She thought she could breeze through everything after her experience in Voidspire, but with each and every floor of Krilla Dungeon, she comes closer and closer to death. From man eating snake with poisonous glands that melt her to bone, to axe-wielding minotaur, to two full-fledged dragons that even her ancient summoned undead dragon is having trouble against.

“Gol… Bah Sil!” the dragon shouted.

Spheres of light formed into large javelin and flew straight at her.

Siola cast a sign, “Sanctuary.”

Upon impact, explosion.

*BOOM*

Her holy barrier is intact but full of cracks. The undead dragon gnaws at its neck as it clasps on to it, and then a burst of powerful black flame exploded right at its throat.

“Graaaaaaaaaaargh!”

It claws and tail whipped its body as the other dragon hold it and spew fiery flame.

“Wretched beings, your unholy bodies shall burn to ashes.”

It tilts its head upward, creating a singularity of energy as it turns into a miniature red sun. Siola panting in her weary form.

“S-Sanctuary.”

Her barrier hardened but as soon as it did her head pinned.

“Hnnngh!”

The miniature sun becomes smaller and smaller, enough for the dragon to gnaw at it and blast Siola completely with the concentrated power of the sun.

When it’s all done, amidst the dust, Siola completely turned into skeleton.

“Fool.”

But then the two dragons noticed the air and dust becomes static as the world itself is turning black and white.

“Th-This is.”

“It can’t be.”

“Gol Bah—”

The dragon stopped moving completely and a golden light shine through the ceiling onto the skeleton that is the form of Siola.

“Rise, child. Overcome your adversaries, and become my champion.”

“RISE!”

Her flesh returning, her organs forming, her skin appears as her sigil grows and her eyes burns brightest. Colors returning to life as the dragon about to shout its last word. Siola teleported above its head with her fists clenched, plunging the dragon into the ground.

“Si—”

*BOOOOM*

As the dust settling, the other dragon came with a gnawing jaw.

She cast a sign, “Sacred Wrath!”

Golden fiery flame filled the dragon’s mouth as it clenches its jaw after Siola had teleported and plunged her foot down to its head.

*BOOM*

Teleporting once again, and another plunge.

*BOOM*

Again, again and again.

Soon the dust settles, but the battle is yet to be over. The first dragon she brought down is alive still. It’s having a hard time lifting its head to be moving its body.

“You vile— *cough* thing…”

Trying to back its head away.

“Protected by the gods, yet *cough* you… turned one of us into unholy being.”

Siola looks down at him with fiery eyes.

“Turned? I was given this power by an ancient dragon I saved.”

“Saved?!”

“From what? His flesh? His mortality?!”

“…”

“Maradonma is loyal servant of the gods, and you, you *cough cough*…”

*Cough*

Blood spills out of its mouth.

“You stole *Cough*… its every being…”

Its head soon falls and the sound of level up notification rings greatly beside her ears. Yet, it didn’t make her happy as she contemplate the words of the dead dragon.

“…”

As the image of the Voidspire dragon appears, her eyes widened.

She remembers how her hand moves on its own, her cracking neck, and how she lost consciousness only to find the orb that was Maradonma.

Her head tilts up as fear settles in.

Siola sits and rest her back on the dragon. Looking at the ground with a grimace.

“What’s the point with all these powers if I don’t even own my own body.”

“I want to live.”

“I don’t know why I’m here, but I want to live.”

The bright golden sigil on her head stopped glowing. Tears fall.

“Who are you…”

“What do you want from me…”

“Are you going to do it again? Will you just going to take over my body again?”

“Please…”

“Tell me…”

Sitting naked and cold, all alone in between two corpses of the twin dragons. Tears continue to fall as she remains unmoving but then water appears at the surface of the ground, bubbling before it’s turning completely black and evaporated.

“Huh? W-wait, what are you, what are you trying to tell me?”

“Nothing.”

Siola’s eyes widened as she turned, seeing a woman sitting on the top of the dragon with a black robe. Black hair just above her shoulders, freckles, and a calm brown eye. The same face and body just like how she used to before becoming a Saint.

“Isn’t it cool?”

Siola stood to see her clearly. It is indeed herself.

“Heheheh, it took quite some time for me to peek a little bit into your memories, but as I expected of you being the perfect you, I can’t even last a whole minute before dying a dozen times.”

“It’s you?”

“Yes. My name is Luosa. They called me Mage of the Abyss.”

“You killed that dragon I purified.”

“Just like how I killed all those before him. I’m here to protect you.”

“And why is that?”

“Because I need you to save me.”

The woman that looks like Siola, Luosa, dropped off the dragon and approach her. Yet Siola remain stern and hold her ground.

“Because of my father’s pledge, for centuries I’m bound to the Abyss. I want to be rid of it, but I cannot do it myself. That’s why I need you. I need you alive, no matter what.”

“But just being alive is not enough. I need you to be stronger than me.”

“So, you killed that dragon I saved to make me stronger.”

“Without it you wouldn’t even be here. You wouldn’t even survive without me.”

Slowly, Siola reaches out to Luosa’s cheek only for it to turn into black sand, floating and retracted after she pulled her hand.

“I’m in your mind, Siola. You are me, and by extension, I am you.”

“I won’t judge, or dictate, or tell you what and what not to do, who you serve and worship. Armalia is a great choice, this task not only proves your worth to her but also put my mind at ease.”

“Are you… the End King?”

One brow raised, “End King? No.”

“Although I just said that I won’t tell you what and what not to do, stay away from them. They reside in the abyss world of the surface, and I wouldn’t go near it.”

“Then who are you exactly?”

“Already said it didn’t I? Is that even something you really want to ask? I’m running out of time here. Your mind is a mess.”

“I want boundaries.”

“From me?”

“You can’t take over my body like last time.”

“After going this far without me, I don’t feel like you’re going to let me.”

“I don’t. This is my body. I’m only going to call you only when I want you to, and that’s going to be our agreement.”

“Then let me repeat it. Promise me that you will get stronger, strong enough to save me, and eventually does so. In return, I will not take control over your body without your permission.”

She nods, “I promise.”

“Good. Now go become the champion of the golden order.”

“Divine Order.”

“Yes that. Heheheh.”

“Wait, are you the one… who brought me to this world?”

“…”

“No.”

“But whoever did have my thanks.”

Luosa disappear into dust and the dust itself disappear completely. Siola glancing left and right processing the interaction she just had.

After outfitting to her old linen clothes. She looks at the two corpses of the dragon and took out her knife. She starts cutting.

“Their cores are what I need to rid of these cursed things in my storage.”

They’re just as big as an ostrich egg. And so, she’s able to put them inside the mini portal.

“Quite small in comparison to their size.”

Her eyes forward and stern. She reaches the door that the two dragons are guarding.
