Death

When Noir was once again on the road, it was with two severed heads dangling from his belt.

That night was not one for him to sleep, as skittering steps seemed to follow him everywhere.

Some were simply animals that found their way into the abandoned city.

It took eleven hours of walking before he finally found a place to sleep, a somewhat stable hostel that was only slightly accompanied by the stench of rot.

Inside, he saw various corpses, and heard a pained bark from the kitchen, immediately making him dash over there.

On the ground, he saw a Swiss Shepherd, his intestines laying next to him, and a Unibun corpse held tightly in its mouth.

"A pretty bad choice for a meal, I didn't give them those horns for fun, you know? Though your death would kind of be my fault... would you like to live?"

The dog only whimpered as an answer, something Noir took as approval, immediately getting to work.

He only had seconds, but with the owner's corpse, the Unibun and the dog itself, he had enough biological matter to save him.

He knew the dog would experience pain, the bodies unraveling to form something new.

Spines twisted and merged, giving the dog a slightly hunched stature as its bones thickened.

He redesigned the muscles, strengthening and compacting them, as he went over the stomach to ensure its efficiency.

He slightly morphed their brains as his curiosity got the better of him, merging them as he called upon both his companions to aid him.

The dog was saved, though it looked much less cute than it did before.

Its teeth had elongated slightly, and the claws as well as the fangs were given the growth of a rabids front teeth, probably forcing it to regularly sharpen and shorten them to not hurt itself.

The brain was a mixture of dog and human, with minor parts of rabid slipping in, and as the beast rose to stand upon its hind legs, it let out an intimidating growl.

It still had white fur, a little fluffier than before. And its eyes radiated loyalty beyond anything Noir had ever seen.

"Hello there, I hope the whole waking up thing wasn't too painful?"

He asked, the Warg's bark hauntingly similar to a wolf's howl.

"I like it." It said, each word accompanied by a low growl, the enhanced vocal cords and more dexterous tongue allowing for a manner of speech that could not be more shattering.

"You are my greatest creation yet, and I would like you to join the dark crusade, though I will never force you, if you prefer to explore this world without my help. I must go to sleep now though, and I recommend you do the same, though there are many corpses you can eat, if that is something you'd like to do."

He hid his exhaustion as good as possible, and went to one of the rooms to sleep.

A wave of his hand disintegrated the corpse occupying the room, Allowing Noir to heal the wounds he sustained during the day's efforts, followed by him falling asleep.

About half an hour later, the sound of something large resting on the ground next to him made him feel more secure than ever before.
