Walking through a forest area, a group of four are approaching a mountain in the distance. Each have their own sets of equipment. The one leading the group is a tall man with a scar across his left cheek in chainmail armor with a two-handed battle axe on his back. Behind him is a man with a wielding a bow dressed in leather armor, a dagger strapped to his waist and a quiver of arrows on his back. Next to him is a woman also dressed in chainmail armor with a small metal shield strapped to her left hand and a short sword in it's sheath belted on him. The final one in this line wears a cloak, hidding thier features, wielding a old wooden staff.
As they go along their chosen path, the one with the bow starts conplaining, "Man! Why did we have to be the ones to investigate, I mean we just got back from our last job, and that had us go to the capital and back!" Responding to this in an irritated voice, the man in the lead says "listen Walter, this is a serious job we've got! What if a dungeons appearing here! All we need is an outbrake of goblins or orcs to make life here a living hell! Not to mention the Demon Dungeon that destroyed half the country 200 years ago!" To this Walter weakly responded with, "ya ya... still didn't have to be us though."
Later that night. The party has gathered in a small clearing and started a fire. They sit around the fire and roast a boar they encountered on their way forward.
"So if there really is a dungeon, do you think this powder will really 'stun' it? I just don't get how a magic floating rock can be affected by the stuff?" Walter said, holding the bag of powder thus mentioned. To his question the cloaked person responded, "I've seen the affects before myself. It keeps a dungeon from making additional monsters or rooms, if it's too dangerous, we'll go back after reporting it and destroy it as the next job we take." Walter just sighs and says, "if you say so Alex, I just don't want to have to dive into some unknown dungeon. The charted ones are already enough for me." The female turns to him and said jokingly, "relax Walt, if things really get too bad, I'll protect you." To this Walter gets a bit mad an responds, "I'm not some coward that'll just hide behind a girl Ellie! I'm the one that's going to protect you!" Walter shouts with a red face. To this everyone just starts laughing at the fighting of the two whom are childhood friends.
This group holds a party of D rank adveturers. One of the responsibilities of the adventure guild is to be vigilent against newly spawned dungeons. Well any dungeon that appears is a danger to people, the worst are those that can cause great calamities. The Worst known one was when a dungeon that spawned demonic monsters appeared. What had started with imps, caused one of the most destructive forces to appear on the continet! It took the combined efforts of the the Elven kingdom, the Beast tribes, as well as the Human Republic, which was the country being assaulted by the dungeon, to subdue it. Goblins and Orcs tend to love raiding villages to gain 'mates' for breeding as well as for food. Slimes seen more as a mine for their cores, which are used in the creation of various magic tools. Beast dungeons often just increase wildlife, with the occasional new species that may appear in an area they aren't native to. Undead, while not having as terrible of a history as demon dungeon, are seen as being equal to one in terms of destructive ability.

Very few dungeons would exist if there wasn't the potetial for gains in other forms at dungeons. Not every dungeon acts the same, some seem to have different limits than others that don't seem to have a discernible reason. Most dungeons, including orc and goblin dungeons, seem to hold within the dungeon itself. People will try to raid these dungeons as they will have various treasures to be discovered. These have ranged from rare metals appearing to be mined, with miners being protected by adventurers, chests containing the loot of such as necklaces and rings, as well as weapons or armor with magical effects. Understanding how a dungeon will operate is dependant on where the mana spreads from the dungeon. They often start within the earth or a mountain spreading slightly outward very slowly once they've unearth themselves. If it tries to spread rapidly outward, it is seen as a posible threat and with the exception of slime or beast, the dungeons crystal will be smashed as quickly as possible. Those two types don't represent a massive threat that actively seeks to kill civilized races.
To have a force that directly dealt with dungeons, the adventurers guild was formed, while having ties with all three contries, it is focused solely on dungeon matters and stays out of politics. However, people are allowed to post requests for aid in various matters at a guild held building which adventurers may respond to. The current party, which is D rank, has experiance with fighting in dungeons as well as having resolved a fair number of requests as well. They have been sent out as the guild has noticed a strange magical anomaly that could be a dungeon. depending on their evaluation, a village may even emerge nearby as to secure the possible benifits of said dungeon.
For now, they travel on, possibly holding the fate of the young dungeon in their hands.
