"Wake up, you lazy bastards!" A sergeant in a hat shouted at the top of his lungs before taking out a trumpet from his bag and playing a high note.
"Oh gosh, is it time already..." A private named George said as he opened his eye and got off his bed. As he looked around the room, he could see that all the other privates in his squad had already opened their eyes, although they looked pretty sleepy, 'I knew I shouldn't have played cards till the middle of the night...' Private George thought as he rubbed his eyes.
The sergeant looked at all the faces in the room and was happy, and he alerted soldiers, but as he saw George, his smile turned into a sour frown. "Private George, what is my opinion on daydreaming?" The sergeant shouted as he walked up to the lightheaded private.
Private George's heartbeat tripled, and they responded immediately, "Daydreaming is for the soon-to-be dead sergeant!"
The sergeant nodded and faced the private face to face, "Exactly! And what does that make you?" He shouted while his saliva splattered on the Private's face.
"A dead man! Sergeant!" Private George shouted with a more alert look.
"Exactly! So do you want to be a dead soldier? Or a soldier that fights?!" The sergeant shouted louder.
"A soldier that fights!! Sergeant!" He shouted again.
The sergeant smiled again as he walked to the room, "Today, we will be fighting to reclaim New York, the monsters, goblins, and lizards, no matter what the devil throws at us, we will kill them! We will be drowning in their blood! So Today, I want every one of you to think one thing and one thing only! And that is to kill!" He shouted. "What do we do?" He asked in a loud tone.
All of the soldiers shouted at the same time, "Kill!"
The sergeant nodded aggressively, "And why do we live?" He shouted again.
"To kill!" Everyone shouted simultaneously.

"Hey George, you should stop daydreaming all the time man. It's getting pretty tiring hearing the sergeant shout all the time." Another private named Fin said as he was putting on his bulletproof armour.
George, who was packing up his ammunition and guns, shrugged off what his colleague said, "It happens, do I look like I am daydreaming now?" He asked.
"Well, not now." The Private Fin said.

"And that is all that matters. As long as I am not daydreaming in the warzone, I think it's all fine." George said before picking up the grenades and hanging them on his waist.
"Pick up the pace maggots! The monsters waits for no one! And it is our responsibility that we kill those dirty bastards before they get to everyone else!" The sergeant said, with all of his equipment and bag ready.
"Crap, Sergeant Desmond is already ready?" Private Fin said.
"And so am I and the others, you should get ready faster." Private George said as he put on his helmet.
"Yeah, yeah, I got it." He said before he finally put on his helmet.
___
They marched together towards the plane and saw a few Major ranked officers waiting and seeing the Private's entering the plane.
As Private George entered the plane, he could feel a pressure on his shoulders, 'Whoah, this is it. I might die Today...' He thought. Even after the motivational speech by the sergeant, everyone knew that no matter how hard and careful they tried, some of them would inevitably die.
As the planes were lifted and flew in the sky, he could see the others praying and looking at the pictures of their loved ones. George, however, could only close his eye and hope for the best. "You look scared." A voice beside him said.
As he opened his eyes and looked at the unanimously agreed to be the most annoying private in the squad, Private Fin said, "Yes, and as you can see, everyone is." George said as he pointed at the others.
Private Fin fiddled with his fingers looking visibly concerned, "Do you think we will die?" He asked.
Private George sighed as he rolled his eyes and looked and Fin, "Maybe, maybe not. Now just in case, if I do die, please do me a favor and make the process more peaceful by shutting your mouth." He said, looking like he was about to lash out.
Private Fin moved back a bit frightened by Private George's sudden emotional change, "Yeah, I got it. I'll zip my mouth."
The sergeant then stood up and pushed a button that lowered one of the floors, opening ample space for them to jump out from, "We're here boys! New York! Now pack up your parachute!"
Just as their sergeant ordered, the soldiers went to put on their parachutes and were ready to jump out of the plane, and at the same time, they saw that about fifty planes had soldiers ready to do the same thing.
Private George started wearing as he looked down, and as the soldiers in front of him started jumping off the plane, he gulped and saw that it was finally his turn.
But before he could even look down, he could feel something pushing him from the back, making him fall, "Ahh!!!" He shouted as the wind filled his open mouth. But he has been in this situation so many times that he automatically calmed himself down.
As he looked to his right side, he could see Private Fin beside him and sighed, 'Oh gosh, of all guys why him...' He thought before a loud boom could be heard behind him.
As he looked above, he could see the plane that he fell out from had just exploded. "Holy crap!" He shouted as he could see the debris falling on them.
He straightened his body downwards and started falling faster. Fortunately, the plane's debris fell somewhere else. But the screams of the other soldier made him panic.
He could see that Private Fin was below him and struggling with something, "Hey, my parachute is not working! My parachute!" Fin shouted as he saw George.
George got closer to Fin and held onto him while activating his parachute. "Just hold on tight!" He shouted as he was starting to float thanks to the parachute.
"Yeah! Thanks!" Fin said while his body shook uncontrollably.
As he looked below him, he could see the monsters waiting for them, "Hey Fin, throw some grenades down will ya." He said as he looked at one of the goblins waiting to kill him.
Fin nodded and pulled out all of his grenades, and removed the rings from them before throwing them down.
Boom! As the grenade was set off, they could see that the place was safer to set their foot on.
He immediately removed his parachute and carried his gun. But as he looked at Fin, he could see that Fin was still struggling to grasp what was going on. "Fin! Get up!" He shouted as he pulled Fin up. But as he did that, an oversized wolf jumped on Fin and bit his hands off. "Ahh!!! My hands!!!" He shouted as he could see blood pouring out of it.
George took a step back in fear, used his M4, and shot at the creature mindlessly. "Fin!" He shouted as he lifted the black wolf off Fin; he could see that Fin's eyes were wide open, lifeless, and not moving.
"Fin?" He asked as he saw Fin's body torn in half.
