Perhaps it was due to his hard life or because of his nature, Trevor was able to able remain composed even when the doctors used to tell him he wouldn't live long. Trevor as any other seriously ill patient had made a vow to himself that no matter how long he will live, he will enjoy life to its fullest and try his best at everything.
"For now I need to know what happened to my parent after my death and if this is now my permanent body" he thought inwardly as he continued to stand there with the file in his hands.
BAM!
"Big Brotheeerrrrrr" Trevor felt like crying, just as he was about to turn around to see who opened the door, he was assaulted by someone who was calling him her big brother. Just why would you hug a weak patient like him that tightly as if to kill him and call him big brother at the same time?
"I'm glad sob.. you are fine sob....sob.." Alea said as buried herself in Trevor's back while crying. Trevor quickly figured out that she must be Asher's little sister but he didn't know anything else about her or her family.
"uhm, sorry but who are you ?" Alea suddenly stopped hugging him as Trevor turned around to see her face. Alea's expression became blank as she stared at him with an 'o' shaped mouth. Trevor controlled his urges to pinch her cheeks. He thought about how he had been receiving similar stares after he woke up from his coma.
"you... you don't remember us ?" he heard a trembling voice as he looked past Alea only to find a young lady and a middle aged man who seemed to be Allister.
"Its me big brother, its me Alea" Trevor immediately felt guilty as he saw the little girl who was shivering furiously while trying to hold back her tears so he decided that it would be best to play along not to hurt their feelings. Trevor due to his struggling life had long stopped caring about others as he had enough on his own plate but he was definitely not a cruel person.
"gasp! When did you grow up so much !!!" Trevor put an act as he saw how colors returned to the faces of mitoss family members.
"hehe big brother will never forget me" Alea hugged him back again this time from the front while giggling foolishly. Trevor could not help but caress her head.
gasp" Trevor released a gasp as Eleanor who standing at the entrance of the room in a daze rushed forward at superhuman speed to embrace both of them.

Finally, he saw the man move towards the trio with a gentle expression on his face and red eyes as if he was barely holding back his tears.
"Welcome back son." he said in a low but deep voice as he wrapped his arms around all three of his children.
"This isn't bad either" muttered under his breath. This was the first time someone had congratulated him on his recovery. He hadn't felt this feeling of joy in a long time. He closed his eyes to enjoy their embrace as his lips twisted upwards weirdly. This was Trevor's true smile which barely ever showed.
........
Trevor quickly found out about the names of Asher's family and his relationship with them. Eleanor was Asher's big sis. Probably because their mother died after giving birth to Alea, she was very responsible from a small and had a quiet personality. She always doted on her little siblings and tried to take care of them as a mother.
Alea was 12 years old. She had a mischievous personality. She also loved both of her siblings. Asher had never once beat her when they were small even when she used to beat him. He always tried to protect her in school from any bullies though no one had enough courage to bully her
Lastly their father, Allister was a hardworking man. He was called a business genius and was a rich businessman even before the evolution. That was why he barely had any time to spend with his kids but loved them nonetheless.
.......
They quickly left after Trevor told them that he wanted to rest. Before going, Alea handed him a phone and told him to pick her calls with a serious expression on her cute little face. Trevor couldn't help but chuckle as he patted her head. Alea pouted and hesitatingly left the room.
He quickly searched the net to know about the current world state and he was dumbfounded as scrolled down dozens of internet pages.
Firstly, three years back on the day Trevor died, there were zero deaths recorded, even the people in accidents didn't due to the highly received VIT stat.
"Am I the only one who died and shifted to another body." he thought inwardly but decided to investigate it later.
Secondly, Spirituala, a consciousness created by the world itself was helping humans evolve by showing them their skills, stats, levels etc after they got their first monster kills inside the 'gates'. Humans could receive all kinds of skills by killing different rare monsters and receive stat points by leveling up.
Thirdly, the so-called gates, like the one Trevor saw before his death, were portals to different worlds that were full of monsters. They were classified from F rank to SSS rank and Ex rank although portals above S rank were not yet raided. These portals were sealed and the seal never broke until humans decided to enter them. However once opened if the party failed the raid, the monsters in the portals could come to Earth through these portals and wreak havoc on the city.
There was also the method of getting stronger by receiving blessings from gods but it was so rare that only a handful of S rank raiders had them.
"So much has changed in just three years" muttered Trevor as he laid down on the bed to digest the information.
