After having a quick meal the two children found a good spot to view the fireworks show that was to come soon. Chae was still turning the egg, she had been fidgeting with it over in her hands since they had sat down.
"How long do you think until it hatches? How did you know what it is? What is the best thing I can do with it to make a bond?" She lists out a barrage of questions that Digaos patiently answers.
"It should be soon, those purple lines spread further out the closer it is to hatching it actually starts out fully green. I've seen it in a Monster Encyclopedia, remember one of us likes to spend their time actually studying. Lastly Bonds form naturally either you do or you don't, either way it wont be hostile as a infant, but do keep it close until it does hatch"
She nods, slightly blushing at the second response, but continues to ask questions about Basilisks. Responding automatically just listing off what he remembers Digaos lets his mind wonder. This world was amazing. Even in small moments like this just a short ride from his home he could have so much fun, and although he would love to be training this day had been enjoyable. He wasn't sure if it was this new body or the fact he just felt more in place as a mortal, but other than the lack of all his arms his desire to be back in the divine realm was almost non-existent. If anything he was more excited to get access to skills from his baptism on his next birthday than he was to speak with anyone from the divine side. If anything he had a bad feeling they would forcibly try and take him back. The thought makes him shudder knowing that at this time he could do nothing to resist them.
Looking across the edge of the city he gazes towards the pillar stretching into the sky at the center of the continent. The Tower, his original creation, not to say he wasn't the one who created everything else. The planet a bit bigger, the races a bit stronger, and monsters a bit smarter but all were relatively similar across the multi-verse. Ozhioth'endil had taken him to a lot of worlds to inspire him about his during his apprenticeship. Original races were a rarity and often were races that were developed through evolution over time or from Demi-god breeding. The standard structure throughout the multiverse wasn't just a case of unoriginality, there was a Mana structure needed to hold together worlds. It required specific race development, certain non-sapient beings, biomes, a Pantheon, and most important the ether force of a creator deity. After he created all of the prior, Digaos wanted to make something wholly their own. That was what the Towers were, self-growing rapidly evolving sentient structures. The two were closer to being Higher Gods then his own pantheon. Each living creature had different experiences in the towers tailored to their personality, strength, and soul. This was how he had intended it from the start, but they had grown even further in his absence feeding from his soul's remaining ether. Now the towers had a shared dimensional space from what Digaos could gather from records on them. Whole floors where other "Climbers" as they were called in this era could meet between trials. Even he didn't know what was at the top of the tower, it was like imagining a creator deity who had free reign, that did not have to follow the blueprints of the multiverse. Something original that is all he knew that it could be, past that he would only find out after becoming a climber himself. His mind had fully drifted off into his imaginations of the future, before being pushed off the bench and hearing Chae laugh at him.
"I have never seen you that out of it before, are you okay?" She asked still laughing at him. She was right, he had completely disregarded his surroundings. Getting a bad feeling he started to focus to find Magdalene and Sir Jinn.
"Digaos? I'm sorry I didn't mean to push you that hard, don't be upset with me" She must've picked up the change on my face.
"Chae come here now we need to leave now."
"What is going on? What about the firework show?"
Looking around he could tell the crowd around him wasn't regular, he started to raise his mana to his fingers.
He couldn't think about the system speaking that directly to him, but he did know whatever it was saying is was probably something he should listen to. Turning to grab Chae he felt a sudden pain in his side. Looking down he had been hit in the back by an arrow. Non-lethal but it would definitely slow him down, looking to the left he could see the archer.

"Shit!"
It was the old man from the booth he had been at earlier, as he started to notch another arrow and turn it towards Chae, Digaos sprinted forward wrapping her up. Another sharp pain spread across his back as he felt another arrow tear threw him and exit out his front just under the collar bone. Rolling with Chae he clenched tight and rapid cast acceleration sprinting towards the opposite direction of the old man.
Trusting the system window he turned skidding across the cobbled road hitting the wall. "Aaaahh!" he screamed as the arrow in his shoulder was pressed into the wall he had partially slammed through. Not stopping he pushed off and at the end of the alley he saw Magdalene surrounded by bodies pushing her blade through a large Bovin, an Ox tribe beast man. As he fell she saw the children and took off towards them.
"Young lord go up! Sir Jinn is on the roofs leave with him!" She yelled as three more hooded figures came up behind her.
Trying to make a split decision to trust this system glitch or her, he trusted his instinct. Digaos pushed himself off one wall to the opposite jumping to the roof, hearing the running steps of multiple people behind him. After making it to the roof he looked froward to Sir Jinn throwing a man off the roofs edge. Digaos started to sprint forward when he felt a weird energy spread from under his feet, unsure he froze. This wasn't mana, aura, or even the diluted ether the mortals called Divine energy.
"Digaos you are bleeding.." Chae had finally spoken, he realized just now how hard he was squeezing her and loosened his arms a bit.
"It is okay Chae, we will be ok." His voice cracked, why though. He couldn't help but feel weird, even during training his heart never raced like this. His blood was pumping and he couldn't think. He was scared. Taking one last look at Sir Jinn who had just made eye contact with them long enough to see the strange energy circle the kids feet, he made a decision. Using one arm he pulled the arrow out of his back, throwing it towards Sir Jinn and using his ring to pull out a dagger.
"Nooo!" Jinn screamed as he watched his cousin and Digaos be pulled through a curse summoning, a twisted version of teleportation. Once they were gone the other men climbing up to the rooftop immediately retreated.
Digaos opened his eyes and could tell it had been longer than it felt since he was last conscious.
"Chae!" He screamed into the darkness. His chest exploded with pain as he flew backwards hitting a wall hard enough to crack it, a piece of fabric coming loose from his eyes showing a small room filled with four men. Taking assessment as he attempted to pull himself up just noticing his hands bound. The man who had just kicked him was a scaled beast man, small and lizard like. He must have a high strength stat with that kind of body to kick him that way. He leaned over to vomit blood unable to speak.
"How dare you! Do you know who he is? Who I am? If you kill us, even hurt us, our families will hunt yo-"
CRACK
Just noticing Chae while she was yelling at the man a few feet from him, the Lizards tale flipped hitting her across the chest sending her back not as hard as the kick he took, but too hard for a girl her age to take.
Spitting out the blood Digaos says "I'll kill you for that, not my family, but me."
The men all start laughing. As a voice from beside him says "No little one I think not."
Hands grab his throat with purple fingers lifting him off the ground squeezing. Digaos feels the same energy as the spell they stepped on before coming from this mans hands freezing him up.
"Although the way he says it isn't right, you do need to stop hitting the children. Damage them anymore and I will start taking pieces of you." The ashen colored elf says to his colleagues.
From the strength in the man's hands he could tell that his stats must not be physical based, if anything Digaos might be around the same strength if he wasn't hurt or bound. Trying to pull mana forward to use on his restraints he feels the mana get blocked in his channels.
"Sorry boy, used ether poison. Can't be to careful with noble children and how you all learn so quickly." Tossing him to the side near Chae, he sneers at them.
Digaos spit more blood out of his mouth, but looks up to Chae who is unconscious at the moment. Looking back at the men now shuffling out of the room, his mind drifts to something just coming back to him. The door slams close and the empty bricked room is completely darkened no windows one door. Trying to sit up and calm himself before he speaks aloud.
"System, What was that earlier? You have never been direct even as an upgraded AI version, never have you directed my actions." After minutes of silence Digaos resigned himself to close his eyes and rest when suddenly a golden light fills his peripheral. Opening them back up to the panel in front of him he reads.
