Chapter 7: Midterm Gone Corrupt

“Well, look who finally showed up,” said King Darwin.

“Whatever! Thanks to the old fairy godmother for ratting us out to Green, we were confined in the school all day yesterday,” Ices explained.

“Well, I have some news you six are going to love.”

“We’re not getting any younger; so, lay it on us already,” said Storm.

“That little girl Serena is the Keeper of the Ultimate Power. The power our clan has been searching for all these years,” King Darwin informed.

“Ugh! Should have known that brownie was no mediocre fairy,” said Ices.

“And I’m assuming we need to take this power from her,” said Jewels.

“Exactly,” said King Darwin.

“The sooner, the better because I’m not about to let Green yell in my face again without blasting her ancient butt into oblivion next time,” said Ices.

#Flashback

“You called us Ms. Green?” Ices asked.

“Yes, and do you girls know why?” Ms. Green asked while tapping her fingers on her desk.

“It’s because…”

“Headmistress Wings contacted me and said you four girls and your two friends have been picking fights with her students.”

“Yeah, but we do it for the great of evil.”

“Silence! Look, I told you before that if you’re going to wreak havoc on anyone of those goody-goodies to not get caught. Do you understand!”

“Yes, Headmistress,” said the Vortex.

#BackToReality

“Me either! I was ready to set her on fire,” said Zoe.

“Well at least you four didn’t have to clean out all the restrooms and beast stables without using any magic,” Mectrics whined.

#AnotherFlashback

“Alright Tweedledee and Tweedledum, since you two wanted to ditch class, miss curfew, but most of all… get caught, you will be cleaning every single one of these restrooms and beast stables with no magic!” shouted Headmaster Nicholas at the top of his lungs.

“No magic!” Mectrics and Bruce gasped.

#BackToRealityAgain

“I’m an ogre and those stables smelled worse than me,” quivered Bruce.

“Eww,” said the Vortex, as they scrunched their faces.

“Anyway, I’m more concerned on whether we’ll succeed this time because we can’t afford any more screw-ups,” said Ices.

“Yeah KD, if you haven’t noticed, our success rate hasn’t been rising at all,” Storm stated.

“Not to mention, what if all four of those sprites were to combine their scepters like last time?” said Jewels.

“Yeah, we almost didn’t make it back,” said Zoe.

“Don’t worry about that, I’ll cast you four a spell that will give each of you a scepter like those four sprites.” King Darwin said as he cast a dark spell upon his witches enhancing their dark magic.

“Ha-ha! Nice,” said Jewels.

“Oh yes! I can feel the dark magic coursing through me.” Storm stated, as she closed her eyes and hugged herself.

“Time to go finish those brownies off and whoever else gets in our way.” Ices grinned deviously.

“Remember, we need Serena’s power. I don’t care what you do to her friends or anyone else,” said King Darwin.

“Wait! What about us?” Mectrics wondered because he and Bruce didn’t get a scepter.

“Oh yes, you two! Here you go! I’ll increase your thunder powers and your strength.” King Darwin said as he snapped his fingers.

“Mmm! That felt amazing,” said Mectrics.

Bruce started flexing his big green arms.

“Alright, now go make me proud.”

Meanwhile, unaware of the danger that was on its way to FHA, the fairies were getting ready to take their midterm. Unlike the schools on Planet Earth that would have several midterms for each class; in the Magic Dimension, it was different. Instead, each year it is only one midterm and one final because both exams rely on everything that was taught in each class.

“Hello girls, are you ready for your first midterm as freshmen fairies?” asked the professor.

“Umm, not sure. Depends what it’s on?” Crystal asked.

“Everything,”

“Everything!” The entire class gasped in horror.

“Oh well that was nice to hear,” Kristy said sarcastically because on the inside she just died.

“Don’t worry, I’m sure many of you will do fine.” The professor smiled.

“Says the man not taking the test,” whispered a student.

“By the way, for those that don’t know me, I am Professor Relics the magical technician and one of your teachers for the next school year. Today’s midterm will be in the VMRC, also known as the Virtual Magical Reality Chamber.”

“Wait but we never actually took a class in the chamber; how do you expect us to pass the test?” asked another student.

“Don’t worry! As long as you paid attention in your classes you’ll be fine.”

“Also, what Professor Relics forgot to mention was the first midterm can either be done individually or as a group of no more than four,” said Mrs. Wings.

“OMG, thank heavens.” Crystal exhaled with relief.

“Guess that means we’re taking it together.” Serena beamed in delight.

“All I know is none of you better mess up my grade,” said Ivy sarcastically.

“Oh, hush! With the three of us on your team we’ll be sure to walk out with an A+,” said Kristy.

“Looks like they’re taking their first midterm,” said Ices, while invisibly floating outside of the stained-glass window.

“Too bad it’s going to be more like their final exam.” Storm laughed quietly.

“Literally,” said Zoe.

“So, what’s the plan?” Jewels asked.

“Well, for us to mess up the machine, we’ll have to cause a diversion. You two, Mectrics and Bruce, get to work,” Ices ordered.

“Sure thing, Ices! It’s time for the lightning show!” Mectrics smirked maniacally.

Meanwhile, as the F.S.P.’s were inside the VMRC focusing on eliminating the virtual obstacles, they had no idea the Vortex and the nitwits were outside causing major chaos. Headmistress Wings and everyone who was not inside the virtual world began to hear thunder. Wings had ordered Professor Relics to stay and make sure nothing happened to Serena and her girls inside the chamber as they were taking their test. Then Wings, Garnet, and a few teachers and students went to see what was going on outside.

“What in the world is going on out here!” Mrs. Wings yelled.

“Oh, look. It’s Wings and her crew,” said Ices.

“You six better get off my campus now before I alert your Headmistress and the Magic Council!”

“Ha! Please! We’re not scared of any of you,” said Storm.

“Yeah! Give us your best shot, oldies,” said Ices.

“You asked for it! Come on, Garnet,” said Mrs. Wings.

“VOLCANIC HEAT!” shouted Zoe.

“EXTINGUISH US!” shouted Wings and Garnet.

“Nice, but that was just the warm-up. Try to stop this. Common ladies!” yelled Ices.

“VORTEX DARK FIERY ICE SHARD ATTACK!” shouted the Vortex.

“Shield! Oh no! AHHHHHHHH!” screamed Wings and Garnet, as they hit the ground.

“Oops, looks like you two are down for the count,” said Ices.

“Hashtag embracing.” Jewels laughed uproariously.

“Alright, we have some loose ends to tie up. Mectrics and Bruce, don’t let us down. We’ll be back,” said Ices.

While Mectrics and Bruce were outside terrorizing the school, the Vortex headed their way to the VMRC. Hoping to find the chamber empty, but instead, they stumbled upon Professor Relics.

“I see you four are the cause of this entire ruckus going on,” said Professor Relics.

“Why yes we are handsome, we’re the Vortex.” Ices winked at Professor Relics.

“And you’re in our way! FULL THROTTLE BLAST!” yelled Storm.

“AHHHHHH!” hollered Professor Relics.

“Aww, that was way too easy, oh well. Now time to destroy this machine,” said Storm.

“Wait!” hollered Ices.

“Why?”

“We need to get Serena’s power. We can’t destroy the machine with her in it, still dummy!”

“Oh, oops that’s my bad. I totally forgot.”

“Alright, well let’s warp in there and end this quest,” said Jewels.

Serena and her girls were blazing through the obstacles like it was a 50% off shopping spree for the newest fashions. They only had one obstacle left, and the fairies were done with their midterm.

“Yay! We made it to the last obstacle!” Crystal cheered.

“Hahahaha and indeed it’ll be the last for you losers,” said Ices, as she appeared out of nowhere with her girls.

“Not you witches again! You four weren’t supposed to be a part of our test.” Serena sighed in disbelief.

“Well, things change sweetie,” said Jewels.

“Haven’t you heard the saying: ‘Nothing is set in stone’,” said Ices.

“Anyway, this isn’t a midterm anymore. It’s more like a survival test.” Storm grinned ominously.

“Or Serena, you can just be a good sport and give us what we want and maybe we’ll let you and your friends live, but only as mindless shadows.”

“I don’t know what you insane witches are talking about, but if it’s a fight you want, then it’s a fight you’ll get! Come on girls!” shouted Serena.

“Well, we tried being nice; attack!” yelled Ices.

“Look out!” Crystal shouted.

“COSMIC HEARTS FIRE!” shouted Serena.

“Nice going Rena!”

“Girls, I’ll take on Ices while you three take on the others.”

“Looks like it’s you and me again princess,” said Ices.

“Bring it on, witch,” said Serena.

While the F.S.P.’s and the Vortex were in head-to-head combat, Mectrics and Bruce were trying to dispose of everyone else.

#Outside

“What’s wrong? You oldies can’t handle a young man like myself and an ogre?” Mectrics smirked.

“Alright, I’ve had enough! I’m not about to let no boy and his ogre destroy my school. Magnolia you’re up!” said Mrs. Wings.

“GROWING BEANSTALK WRAP ABSORBENT!” shouted Professor Magnolia.

“Ha! You think a beanstalk is going to stop us! EXTREME THUNDER!” Mectrics shouted.

“Nope, not at first, but now my beanstalk is even stronger.”

“Wait, what the? HEY WHAT’S GOING ON!” Mectrics hollered.

“Nice work, dummy. Your powers helped increase her vine growth spell and now we’re stuck in here,” said Bruce.

“Well how about you use your strength to get us out of here?”

“OGRE SMASH!”

“Well that did no damage.”

“Now DEMERIT US!” shouted Mrs. Wings.

“NOOOOOOOO!” screamed Mectrics and Bruce.

Headmistress Wings had cast a spell on Mectrics and Bruce that took their powers away. She then had Ms. Garnet drop them off at Warlock High Academy and explain to Headmaster Nicholas the chaos they have been constraining. Wings then headed to the VRMC to see if everything was going okay.

“Ugh, those witches are tossing us around,” whined Crystal.

“How did they get this powerful?” Ivy asked.

“I don’t know but we need to come up with a plan before we literally get turned into pixie dust,” said Serena.

“DARK ICE SCEPTER PIERCING SHARDS ATTACK!” shouted Ices.

“Watch out!” yelled the F.S.P.’s.

“That was close.” Kristy exhaled as she wiped her forehead.

“ULTIMATE WINDS!” hollered Storm.

“AHHHHHHHH!” screamed the fairies.

“RAGING FIRE SURROUNDED!” yelled Zoe.

“Looks like you four are trapped. Time to finish you all off at once, but first… Serena, we need to have a word with you,” said Ices.

#InTheVRMCRoom

“Oh my, Professor Relics. What happened?” Mrs. Wings asked.

“Four young, but powerful witches attacked me and I believe they warped into the machine,” Professor Relics assumed.

“I have a feeling I know who those four witches are. Meaning our girls are in trouble. We need to get them out of the chamber.”

“Alright, I’ll use a spell to force us inside the computer system,” Professor Relics agreed.

#BackInTheVirtualWorld

The Vortex removed Serena out of the surrounding flames. Thus, before Ices could tell Serena what her and her best witches needed from her, they got an unexpected visit. Headmistress Wings and Professor Relics managed to force their way into the Virtual World.

“I should have known you witches were the cause of all this!” said Mrs. Wings.

“Looks like the nitwits failed.” Ices rolled her eyes.

“Oh, look who’s up,” said Jewels.

“Guess handsome couldn’t resist trying to go up against us again,” said Storm.

“Oh well! Let’s finish them both off,” said Ices.

“Mrs. Wings! Professor Relics!” Serena and her girls cheered.

“FLAME EXTINGUISH!” Mrs. Wings and Professor Relics shouted.

“Ugh, how dare you put out my flames! SCREAMING FLAMES!” exclaimed Zoe.

“WINTER’S POLLEN!” yelled Ivy.

“Please, this is winter. WINTER’S STORM!” Ices hollered.

“AHHHHHHHH!” yelled Ivy.

“Ivy!” yelled Serena, Crystal, and Kristy.

“TIME ECHOS!” shouted Kristy.

“Knock it off! HUH!” Storm commanded.

“AHHHHHHHH!”

“Ha-ha! You losers are falling like flying insects caught in the rain.” Ices snickered.

“You know what they say about an over-competent witch; she makes an easy target! SONIC BEAM!” Mrs. Wings sent a huge blast of energy impending toward Ices.

“Ices look out!” shouted her girls.

“What the? Oh no!” Ices shouted.

“Nice going Mrs. Wings!” shouted the F.S.P.’s.

“Wait but, where is she?” Mrs. Wings asked.

“Behind you! FROSTBITE!” Ices shouted as she attacked.

“AHHHHHHHH!” Mrs. Wings screamed as she went spiraling down to the ground.

Professor Relics managed to catch Mrs. Wings in his arms right before she hit the ground.

“I got you Wings,” said Professor Relics.

“And we’ve got you surrounded, so don’t even think about trying any funny business,” Storm warned.

“Alright, now that we don’t have any more interference, time to get down to business. Serena, you have something we need and you’re going to give it to us!” said Ices.

“I don’t know what you witches are talking about. Leave me and my friends alone!” Serena shouted.

“Fine! Looks like we’ll do it the hard way. Ladies, who should we freeze and then shatter into pieces first?”

The Vortex were pushing Serena’s buttons so much that she had enough of those four witches tormenting her and her friends. Within minutes after hearing the Vortex tease and make threats, Serena was filled with rage. She began to feel her magic increase around every inch of her body. Serena then decided it was time to blow those witches out of the Magic Dimension.

“That’s enough!” Serena yelled.

“Hahahaha! What!” The Vortex laughs turned into stunned faces.

“HEART CRYSTAL COSMIC POWER BLAST!” shouted Serena.

“Oh no! AHHHHHHHH!” yelled the Vortex as they were blasted out of the Magic Dimension.

#ABrightLightEmerged #About20MinsLater

“Ugh, my head is spinning! What just happened?” Serena asked, as she regained consciousness and noticed she was in the nurse’s office.

“Hey everyone, she’s up,” said Ivy.

“Nice going, Rena! Thanks to your new powers you sent those witches flying,” Crystal said.

“But, what happened?” Serena asked, still confused.

“You should be telling us where you got all the power from!”

“Right because that was some spell you used. It ended up sending those witches to who knows where and teleported us out of the Virtual World!” said Kristy.

“Girls, how is she?” asked Mrs. Wings.

“I’m fine and from the looks of it; so is everyone else,” said Serena.

“Good to see you’re okay, and don’t worry, this will be the last time those meddlesome students cause any more ruckus. I’ve already had Ms. Garnet inform their professors personally.”

“Well, thank God we get a week off from all this drama,” replied Crystal.

“Tell me about it and it looks like I will have to send my students a take-home midterm since the Virtual Chamber is severely damaged.” Professor Relics sighed.

“Take-home midterm!” Serena, Crystal, Ivy, and Kristy’s hearts dropped.

“Don’t worry, you four passed with an A+.” Laughed Professor Relics.

“Almost made me pass out again,” said Serena.

Everyone started laughing.

#HairMessedUp #MakeupRuined #NailsBroken

“Ugh! I didn’t think it was possible; even with the upgrade KD gave us, that brownie defeated us,” whimpered Ices.

“She literally sent us flying with one attack,” Jewels cried.

“She could have at least blasted us into a spa,” said Storm.

“I know right! Look at my hair!” yelled Zoe.

“Your hair! Look at my nails! Ugh! And I just got them spelled two days ago!” shouted Storm.

“Ladies! Stop your witching! We need to focus on the bigger picture and that’s how we’re going to explain to KD how we didn’t succeed in taking Serena’s powers. Hey, is that our stuff outside?” Ices noticed.

“It is!” yelled the Vortex.

The Vortex did not realize Headmistress Wings had contacted their Headmistress. Ganondorf-Green got so fed up with Headmistress Goody-Goody telling her about how to handle her students and getting the Magic Council involved that she was going to get in the last word. Green was not about to let four misbehaving witches ruin her bad witch reputation. Therefore, she had altered the Witch Advisory Committee and made it very clear that she no longer wanted those four to attend classes at Dark Spells High Academy.

#VortexStillOutsideLookingClueless

“Whoever did this to us is going to pay!” said Ices.

“Well, let’s hurry up and move our stuff back in before the HWIC catches us,” said Storm.

“Catches you four indeed.” Green appeared out of the thick green smoke.

“Oh, Headmistress! We were just-” before Ices could finish her comment she was rudely cut off.

“Silence!” hollered Ms. Green.

The Vortex were about to get an earful.

“You trashy girls have made a mockery out of me and my school for the last time! You four are expelled!”

“Trashy? Wait what?” The Vortex became lost for words.

Then the words that Headmistress Ganondorf-Green spoke finally hit the witches.

“Expelled!” The Vortex gasped as their mouths hit the floor.

“Yes, I didn’t stutter! I told you four to wreak havoc and not get caught. Also, you four have been making underclassmen do all of your assignments while you’re out and about like you’re already on vacation!”

“But we were just wreaking havoc like you taught us.” Ices tried to be a kiss-up but severely failed.

“No buts! Get your paraphernalia and go home!” yelled Ms. Green.

#GreenDisappeared

“UGH! The losers are going to pay! The Ultimate Power will be ours and I’ll burn in the deep infernos of Flames Hollow if I have to before I let a bunch of freshies, especially that loser Serena win!” Ices screamed.
