#InterruptingDreamland
“Hello girls,” said a woman’s voice.
“Where are we?” Serena asked.
“Aww really? I was enjoying my dream. I was just cast to play Barbie in the new live-action movie. Oh, hey girls! It looks like we’re having the same dream,” Crystal noticed.
“You all are in fact asleep and for right now, this is my only way to contact you four before you are strong enough to travel to Spells,” explained the voice.
“What's Spells?” Serena asked.
“It's the capital of the Magic Dimension.”
“Wait! Magic Dimension?” asked the girls, with a puzzled look on their faces.
“Travel!” excitedly blurted out Crystal.
“Why?” asked Serena.
“The fate of the entire universe depends on you four and don’t worry the guys will come with you,” said the voice.
“But do they even have magic?” Ivy asked.
“Kind of! But they need their armor. They can’t just transform like you girls can which is why they need to train in the Magic Dimension with Headmaster Marcellus who should be interrupting their dreams right at this moment!” explained the voice.
“So, are you going to teach us some spells?” asked Crystal.
“Yes! While the boys are being taught by Headmaster Marcellus, I’ll be teaching you girls via dreamtime for now.”
“By the way, we can’t oversleep. We have an 8 o’clock class in the morning,” said Kristy.
“I understand you girls have a life on this Earth, but when the time comes, you all will have to make a decision on whether to stay here or help the other dimensions that need your help. Oh, and one more thing before I let you go, the name is Valery Olivia Wings, but you may call me Mrs. Wings.”
#BackOnTheDarkPlanet
“Why did you call us back!” Ices shouted.
“Silence! If you haven’t noticed, I am in charge here so shut up and listen up!” shouted the man sitting on the throne.
“Well dang, tell us how you really feel,” Storm whispered.
“Anyway, I’ve called you all back because those teens you faced on Earth are not ordinary,” the man explained.
“We know that they’re a bunch of fairies and heroes. How tough can they be?” Ices asked.
“They’re getting help from Headmistress Wings and Headmaster Marcellus to stop us in our tracks.”
“So, you need us to get rid of them before they make it to the Magic Dimension.”
“Exactly! So now let’s think of a plan on how to destroy them.”
#BackOnEarth #TimeforSchool #DontBeLate #LateEqualsDetention
Uh-oh! It looks like Serena overslept and didn’t hear her alarm clock go off! She tossed the silk cotton covers off her, grabbed the outfit she set out last night to wear, and rushed towards the bathroom. However, to make matters more stressful, her little brother was hogging up the bathroom. Even though it was only the second day of class, her first-period teacher, Mr. Pentium, made it clear that he will not accept tardiness on the second day.
“Hey, come on Blake! I need to get in there! Hurry up!”
“Sorry Snore-A-Rella! You snooze, you lose!”
“Whatever! You don’t even have to be at school until 9:00; so, come on!”
“Nope!”
“I’m telling Mom! Mom! Mom!”
“Ha! She left this morning with Auntie to go do some shopping and Dad is at work, so it looks like you’re going to have to bust the door down.”
“Ugh that’s it! DOOR OPEN!”
It turns out that having magic powers comes in handy. All Serena did was stick her hand out in front of the door and presto; the door swung wide opened. Blake stood in shock because he could have sworn that he locked the door.
“Wait! H-How did you do that?”
“Now get out of my way twerp! I’m already running late.”
“Okay fine!”
Once Serena was all showered, dressed, and ready to go, she grabbed a chocolate chip bar and a small carton of milk as she dashed out the door. She didn’t even have time to make any breakfast, so she was going to have to eat and run at the same time. Unfortunately, she couldn’t just transform and try to fly to school. While running to school, she spotted her besties running on their way to class as well.
“Hey girls! It looks like we all overslept” said Serena, as she caught up with her besties.
“Ugh tell me about it. I had to put on extra makeup; so, Josh won’t be able to see the dark bags under my eyes,” Crystal cried.
“Oh no! It’s 7:59! We only have one minute to get to class!” Ivy noticed as she looked at her cellphone to check the time.
“Ugh, all this running we’re doing. I hope coach doesn’t make us run,” Kristy whined.
“Alright! We’ll meet up after class!” said Serena, as she and Crystal ran together to their biology class.
#BarelyMadeItToClass
The girls made it to their first-period class just in time as the bell rang. Serena and Crystal were relieved that they wouldn’t be receiving an after school dentition from Mr. Pentium. They already had to endure a long, dreadful hour with him for two semesters.
“I thought you girls weren’t going to make it! You girls have a long dream lesson?” Roux asked.
“Well, it turns out the woman who saved us is Mrs. Wings,” Crystal replied.
“We still don’t know much about her; besides the fact that she told us we need to be prepared for what’s coming and something about the Magic Dimension,” Serena explained.
“So, you all got to meet Headmaster Marcellus; what was he like?” Crystal asked.
#PE
“Well, Headmaster Marcellus told us that once we attend his school that he’ll be able to train us and make us stronger. That way we’ll become true heroes and some of us may even have powers ourselves, but just don’t know it yet,” Brock explained to Ivy and Kristy about what happened during the dream-meeting.
“At least this means us girls aren’t the only ones having to fight off evil,” said Ivy.
“This is going to be one busy year for us,” Kristy said, as she sighed.
#OutsideTheSchool
The Vortex made their way back to Planet Earth and tracked down the fairies.
“Hmm. So, this is the school those losers attend?” said Ices.
“So, what are we waiting for? Let’s destroy it right now,” said Storm.
“Ugh, Storm! I’m surprised at you! Where’s the fun in destroying them without making anyone suffer? Ices asked.
“Yeah Storm! I thought you were better than that,” Jewels said jokingly.
“Shut up,” said Storm.
“Hey, tryouts for the cheer squad is this Friday after school. Do you four want to sign up?” asked a girl dressed in a cheer outfit.
“No thanks! We don’t…”
“Why yes, we’ll try out, but I’m the captain now” Ices grinned.
“Ha-ha, silly. You can’t be captain until you try out,” said the perky cheerleader.
“Jewels, work your magic,” Ices told Jewels telepathically.
Jewels placed her left hand behind her back and made a necklace appear.
“OMG! This neckless would totally look great on you!” said Jewels.
“OMG, it’s beautiful! I bet it’s worth a fortune. May I try it on?” the cheerleader asked.
“Of course!”
The cheerleader turned around and lifted her ponytail so Jewels could place it on her neck. Once the necklace was on her, Jewels whispered in her right ear, “Power of the Dark Jewel. You work for us now. Your positive energy is ours.”
In less than a second, the cheerleader recruiting for tryouts was being mind-controlled thanks to Jewels. Ices then gave her an assignment to make sure she got these four freshmen: Serena, Crystal, Ivy, and Kristy to try out this Friday after school. With the plan set in place, the Vortex returned home.
#Lunchtime
The day was going by fast and it was already lunchtime with just two more periods to go. Serena, Max, and their friends were primarily pleased that they were not being attacked by Ices and her crew. The group of friends were sitting at a lunch table when a girl in a cheerleading outfit stood up in a chair and made an announcement on the microphone. She declared that cheer tryouts begin this Friday after school at four o’clock, but audience members had to be seated in the gymnasium by 3:45 PM.
“OMG girls! Did you hear that: cheer tryouts!” said Crystal overjoyed.
“Yeah, I don’t know Cee, cheerleading, really?” asked a perplexed Serena.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
“Aww come on, girls! Remember, we vowed we were going to at least try out one time together.”
“Okay fine. I’ll try out. what about you two?”
“Now you know how I feel about cheerleaders; a bunch of catty, self-absorbed-” Kristy’s complaining was cut off by Crystal.
“Come on, Kay. It’ll be fun and you know you love the spotlight,” said Crystal.
“Fine, but only because I want to laugh at the auditions myself.”
“Now Vee, that just leaves you; so, are you in? And I’m not taking no for an answer.”
“Fine, but you have to promise that you won’t flake out on any of our study groups. This is high school now, so you have to keep your grades up. Even if it means limiting your shopping days,” said Ivy.
“Ugh, fine! I promise.”
“Alright, I’m down.”
“Yay! Now all we need to do is come up with a flawless routine.”
“Good! Me and the guys will be in the audience watching and laughing,” said Roux.
“Don’t mind Roux; you girls are going to do fine,” said Brock.
“Yeah, what Brock said,” said Josh.
#TGIF!
For the past couple of days, the girls and guys were enjoying their time living life as semi-ordinary teenagers; since during their sleep time, they spent it having magic lessons. From adjusting to classes to magic lessons to preparing for cheer tryouts, they didn’t even wonder what happened to the four witches and their two collaborators. The only thing on Serena and her girls’ minds today, well, predominantly Crystal’s, was making the cheer squad. Crystal made sure her and her besties practiced as much as possible because they only had about three days to get an impeccable routine together.
It was finally Friday, and the classes had flown by. Everyone who was interested in watching the cheer tryouts headed over to the gymnasium. Meanwhile, all the girls and even the guys that were trying out were stretching and warming up. All the competitors wanted to make sure their routine was down pat.
Traditionally when anyone tried out for the cheer squad, they would usually perform solo, but this year they decided to do group tryouts. Now being in a group didn’t make the selection process any easier. For example, it could be five in a group, but if someone, missed their mark, they wouldn’t make the cut but their friends would instead. Thus, making the squad was going to be the least of everyone’s worries because they had no idea of the evil they would be cheering in front of.
#MeanwhileAtTheJudgesTable
“Ladies look at the audience,” said Zoe.
“Lovely! Look at all the positive energy ready to be snatched,” replied Jewels.
“Well, let’s enjoy the show and by that, I mean let’s ruin everyone’s afternoon,” said Storm, as she laughed.
“Also, the longer the audience sits in those chairs; the more energy they’ll be drained of.” Ices smiled.
It was four o’clock, and the tryouts had begun. The audience had no idea their life energy was being drained as they sat in the wooden seats. Looks like nobody was making the squad, and mysteriously someone was always ending up hurt. Also, the audience members were beginning to fall asleep. Backstage, Serena and her girls were watching the performances and all the mishaps going on.
“Hey girls, something isn’t right here,” Serena said with an unsettling feeling in her stomach.
“Yeah, I’m getting a strong sense of negative energy in the air,” said Crystal.
“Something is telling me these tryouts were a trap,” replied Ivy.
“Hey, look in the audience! Don’t those four look familiar?” whispered Kristy.
“Ugh! It’s the witches!” Serena whispered.
“How do they think they’re fooling anyone with those horrible disguises?” asked Crystal.
“Alright, next group!” shouted Ices.
“Looks like we’re up,” said Ivy.
“No, you girls stay here. Let me go,” said Serena, as she walked towards the stage.
“Serena, no. What are you doing?” asked Crystal.
“Trust me, we need to stall; alert the guys and tell them to get ready to evacuate the crowd,” said Serena.
“Okay, just be careful,” said her girls.
#InTheFrontRow
“Ooh, look at this! It’s my favorite fairy trying out. This is going to be fun.” Ices grinned.
“But Ices, where did her friends go?” whispered Storm.
“Quiet! I’m trying to watch the brownie seal her fate.”
“Whatever!”
“Guys, wake up,” whispered Crystal, Ivy, and Kristy.
“What’s up?” asked Josh.
“Get out of the chair now; unless you all want to be drained of more energy,” Crystal whispered.
“Okay, I have a special routine for you and it’s to die for. Ready? One, two,” said the girl that was being mind-controlled by the Vortex.
“FAIRY POWER TRANSFORM!” shouted Serena.
Serena transformed just in the nick of time and used a heart shield reflection spell to force the blast back at the Vortex. Unfortunately, Ices, Jewels, and Zoe were quick on their feet. The Vortex managed to avoid being blasted to oblivion by their new minion they created. The girl was no longer an innocent bubbly high-spirited student: she was now a pawn for the darkness.
“Ugh! Alright, shows over! Time to get down to business!” exclaimed Ices.
“Told you, Ices. I knew I smelled a bunch of brownies and pretty boys,” said Storm.
“Hold on! Did she just call us brownies?” Serena paused.
“I don’t know whether to be slightly or highly offended,” responded Ivy.
“Isn’t a brownie a type of lower diversion Girl Scout for girls aged between about six and eight?” Kristy thought.
“Forget about Girl Scouts! I could go for some chocolate chip brownies right now.” Crystal stated as she licked her lips thinking about the mouthwatering deliciousness.
“Enough rambling!” Ices shouted.
“Well, okay then ice witch, why don’t you explain, but tread lightly,” said Serena.
“Brownies are another word for fairies, and this suits you more because compared to us witches you’re fragile, easy to crumble, show too many emotions, junior league far from varsity…”
“We get it!” shouted the fairies.
“Great! Now Storm, take it away.”
“Finally! HURRICANE!” shouted Storm.
“Look out!” shouted Ivy as she and her friends successfully dodged the attack.
“Dang I missed!” Storm growled.
“You witches are back, but hold on, where’s the ugly ogre and the guy with the hideous hair?” asked Crystal.
“Behind you! ELECTRIC RAGE CAGE!” yelled Mectrics.
“AHHHHHHHH!” screamed Serena’s friends.
“Guys!” yelled Serena.
“Ha! Try getting out of my ERC; also known as my Electric Rage Cage. I would like to thank my Headmaster Nicholas for teaching this spell in class,” said Mectrics.
“Nice work babe,” said Zoe.
“Yeah man, that was awesome,” said Bruce.
“Whatever! We’re not done here, they’re still breathing! Alright, time to steal their life energy once and for all!” said Ices.
“Why don’t we have our new hostess finish them off while we watch?” Jewels asked.
“Hostess?” replied a puzzled Serena.
“Good idea,” Ices replied.
“We unleash you, creature of the Dark Planet, Scream Magenta!” shouted the Vortex.
The girl who was being controlled by the Vortex had turned into a hideous creature from the Dark Planet.
“Ugh, what is that thing!” Crystal exclaimed, as her eyes widened.
“The name is Scream Magenta,” replied the hideous creature.
“Well, whoever you are, you don’t scare me!” Serena shouted.
“Enough chit-chat! I don’t know if you noticed little girl, but your friends can’t help you. They’re still trapped in Mectrics’ ERC,” said Ices.
“Shoot, I forgot about that. Oh well, I’ll have to handle you myself.” Serena sighed.
“You heard the brownie, destroy her and her friends. And don’t return to the Dark Planet until you do. We’ll be watching to make sure you finish your task,” Ices told Scream Magenta before vanishing.
“I guess that’s our cue to bounce my big green friend. Let’s get going. Bye losers.” Mectrics said as he waved. Then, Mectrics and Bruce disappeared.
#VortexAndNitwitsLeave #TheBattleContinues
Serena decided to flee outside to the football field where no one was around to get hurt. Scream Magenta quickly followed her, but she wasn’t prepared for what was to come next. The ghoul let out a sonic, high-pitched scream. The monster’s screech was so powerful that once Serena was hit, the sound waves ended up shattering her ring. Serena had reverted into her human form and was now defenseless.
“Oh no! My ring!” cried Serena.
“I’ve got you now!” screeched Scream Magenta.
“AHHHHHHHH!” screamed Serena.
#StillTrapped
“Come on! We have to help Serena!” said Max.
“Well, what can we do? If we touch the cage, we’ll be shocked to death!” exclaimed Crystal.
“I have an idea! The rings!” said Ivy.
“Yeah what about them Vee?” Kristy asked.
“They have enough power to help us transform right?” Ivy asked rhetorically.
“Yeah, but to transform we would need some room; clearly we’re all clumped together,” Crystal noted.
“Just hush and hear me out girls. They have enough power to help us transform, so why not use them to help get us out of this death cage by throwing them into the center of this cage?” Ivy suggested.
“But then we won’t be able to transform,” Crystal assumed.
“We won’t need them to, we just have to trust in ourselves,” said Ivy.
“Help!” Serena screamed.
“Serena!” everyone shouted.
“Alright girls, ready!” Ivy asked.
“Ready!” said Crystal and Kristy.
“Guys, crunch down. Here it goes,” said Ivy.
Crystal, Ivy, and Kristy took off their magic rings and tossed them into the center of Mectrics’ cage. As soon as the rings went up; the girls and the guys hit the floor in case the plan backfired. Fortunately, thanks to Ivy’s brilliant idea, the plan was a success. The rings absorbed all of Mectrics’ dark electricity. However, the rings were overfired in the process: going from their silver and gold appearance to looking dusty and moldy. Even the great Stevie Wonder could see there wasn’t any magic left in those rings.
“Alright, now let’s go help out our girl!” said Crystal, as she jumped up off the floor.
“Guys, don’t worry about us. Stay here and make sure that the crowd stays inside,” said Ivy.
“If they start waking up, just tell them there’s construction going on outside,” Kristy suggested.
The girls rush to the football field and were relieved to see Serena still breathing.
“Hey! Tone-deaf! Leave our girl alone!” yelled Crystal.
“Girls, just in time.” Serena noticed her girls weren’t wearing their rings. “But where are your rings?” Serena asked confusingly.
“We don’t need them; we just have to believe in ourselves,” replied Ivy.
“Now get up and let’s transform so we can defeat this beast,” said Crystal as she beamed.
“Alright girls! Let’s do this,” said Serena.
“FAIRY POWER TRANSFORM!” shouted the girls.
#TimeToExterminateUgly
“Yay more energy for me,” said Scream Magenta, as she grinned.
“I don’t think so: STOP US!” shouted Kristy.
“Ugh, what’s going on? I can’t move!” cried Scream Magenta.
“You could use some light, SUNBEAM!” shouted Crystal.
“AHHHHHHHH! My eyes!” Scream Magenta hollered.
“Now time to bring back the innocent life of the girl those witches placed you inside of. HEART’S GROWTH!”
Serena used her love power to reawaken the cheerleader by reversing the curse placed upon her by the Vortex.
“Oh no! AHHHHHHHH!” Scream Magenta let out her final screams as she was sent to Flames Hollow where she belonged.
The girl that played a pawn reverted back to normal. Serena and her besties not only saved several lives that day, but they had defeated their first creature from the Dark Planet. They also mastered their ability to transform without using the rings Mrs. Wings gave them.
“Looks like you girls didn’t need our help after all,” said Max.
“Alright, well the crowd is still knocked out,” replied Josh.
“And so is ole girl. I hope she’s okay,” Crystal said, while looking at the unconscious cheerleader lying on the grass.
“Yeah, I mean we did do a number on her; well technically the monster inside her,” said Ivy.
“Don’t worry about her or the rest of them inside. When they wake up, they’ll all think it was a dream,” said a familiar woman’s voice.
“That voice? Mrs. Wings is that you?” Serena asked.
“Yes, why hello everyone,” said Mrs. Wings, as she appeared out of thin air.
“How ironic that she shows up right after we got done fighting off that hideous creature, and what if she was just watching the whole time?” Crystal whispered.
“Yes Crystal, I did I watched the whole incident,” Mrs. Wings responded.
“Oops she heard me,” Crystal thought to herself.
“Hold on did she just say she watched us while we were being attacked?” Kristy whispered to Ivy.
“Talk about harsh,” Ivy whispered back.
“I’m so proud of you all. It looks like you didn’t need my help. You four managed to transform without the rings.” Mrs. Wings smiled.
“We really didn’t have a choice,” Serena replied.
“This tough battle was only a mere example of what’s coming. In time, the battles are only going to get tougher,” Mrs. Wings warned the teens.
“Battles? Like with an ‘S’? Meaning more than one?” asked Crystal, with a shocked look on her face.
“Well, I guess no matter how hard we try we won’t be able to be normal teenagers anymore,” Serena acknowledged.
“I hate to say it but yeah, we have a major responsibility now,” said Crystal.
“Well guess we’re going to the big MD,” Ivy suggested.
“One problem! How are we going to explain to our parents that we’re going to another high school in another dimension?” Kristy asked.
“Don’t worry! I’m sure they’ll be fine with you all going. Plus, they’re all waiting for you back at Serena’s house,” answered Mrs. Wings.
“My house?” questioned Serena.
Mrs. Wings warped Serena and her friends outside of Serena’s house, and inside, everyone’s parents were waiting for their arrival. Once everyone was inside the living room, Serena’s mom started the conversation.
#SecretsUnfold
“We knew that one day this day would come, but we thought it was going to happen when you were a little older,” Serena’s mom, Serenity, explained.
“Wait, so you all knew we were magical beings?” asked Serena, with a stern look on her face.
“And why didn’t any of you bother to tell us this?” Crystal asked.
“Sweetie we were doing what we thought was best for you and your friends. None of you remember the devastation that had occurred because you were only months to a year old. Fifteen years ago, our home planet along with your friends’ planets had become consumed by the darkness brought forth by the rulers of the Dark Planet. Well, except for Planet Starlight,” explained Crystal’s mom, Chrissie.
“Planet Starlight?” asked Serena, as though she was familiar with the name.
“Yes, our home planet, the place where I had given birth to you. Our home was a place where eight fallen kingdoms had resided. However, before we could come up with a plan that we all could agree on to combat the Dark Warriors, we were invaded,” continued Serenity.
“And before we knew it, Planet Starlight had lost its light and had fallen into complete obscurity,” explained Ivy’s mom, Rose.
“Well, how did we get here?” Ivy asked.
“I, along with some other Light Guardian Elders had joined the fight to give your parents enough time to escape. We knew something had to be done to ensure that no matter what happened that we’d still have hope in saving the universe when the time comes,” said Mrs. Wings.
“As the battle was going on, we used every ounce of our powers and transported all of us to the safest planet we could think of: Earth,” said Rose.
“So, we came to Planet Earth because we knew it would be the last place the rulers of the Dark Planet would look for us in case any of them survived during the epic battle,” Kristy’s mom, Kristina, stated.
“And unfortunately, not all the Dark Planet’s warriors were sealed away during the battle. Some had escaped, went into hiding, and are now back for their revenge,” Mrs. Wings warned.
“Well, we now know that’s where those four witches, the spike-haired freak, and the smelly ogre are from,” said Serena.
Now that Serena and her friends knew their background, it was time to get ready to head to the Magic Dimension. While the girls went upstairs to help Serena pack her bags, the guys were busy getting some lectures from their parents.
“Alright guys, I want you four to make sure you help protect our girls because they’re going to need it,” said Serena’s dad, Calvin, while giving each of the guys the death stare.
“Especially if these new villains are as tough as the ones we faced fifteen years ago,” said Max’s dad, Michael.
“Don’t worry Dad, and sirs we won’t let you down,” said Max.
“You better not! We may not have powers anymore, but if anything happens to any one of the girls, you will turn up missing,” Kristy’s dad, Trevor, warned the boys.
“Understood.” The guys said while nodding.
“Oh, stop scaring them! They know better, especially you Roux. We had that discussion on girls last year.” Laughed Roux’s mom, Raquel.
“Ugh! Yes, Mom, I know.” Roux groaned while folding his arms in embarrassment.
“Alright, I hate to break up the moment, but the faster everyone gets packed up, the faster we can head off to the MD. And don’t worry, they’re all in good hands,” said Mrs. Wings.
“Oh! So, how are we getting to the MD? Let me guess! We all get a pair of sparkly glass slippers and we click our heels three times,” said Crystal jokingly.
“Yeah, I’m not a sparkly glass slippers kind of guy,” said Roux.
“What Roux said.” Max, Josh, and Brock stated in agreement.
“Don’t worry! No sparkly glass slippers will be needed to make this trip,” said Mrs. Wings, as she smiled.
Once everyone was packed they met back up at Serena’s home. It was finally time to head to the Magic Dimension. Mrs. Wings then snapped her fingers and created a portal in the living room. The teens hugged their parents and gave them kisses before they transported to the other universe. Before leaving, Serena had cast a no entrance spell around her room so she can keep her bothersome brother, Blake, out so he doesn’t trash her room and sell any of her items on eBay.
