Chapter 6: Awakening and Reconnection

Waking up, I found I was still in my home. Stretching, I reluctantly stood up and walked to the edge of my bed.

“Something feels different.”

Not caring about the bars surrounding my home opened up as I began to walk down a flight of steps leading to the clean marble floor. After walking for a while, I arrived at a wooden door.

“Hold up, something isn’t right.”

Rubbing my eyes, I began to focus on my surroundings.

“Why is everything white?”

Looking around, I saw beautiful, clean marble surrounding me. Two marble stairs were spiraling down, resembling what I could only describe as DNA from my bed. Looking where my bed was, I realized there wasn’t any ceiling; it was just open. Looking around the room more, flowers and vines were growing on the walls; there also wasn’t any furniture as well; it was just the plants growing through the marble.

“It doesn’t seem like anything dangerous is around.”

Turning around, I stared at the door. Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and saw a long hallway in front of me. Walking, I noticed it was empty; nothing was in except for torches. Walking for what seemed like 10 seconds, I arrived before another wooden door. Opening it, I arrived at a huge hall. It, like the hallway, was empty except for what seemed like a wooden throne in front of a flight of stairs. Huge windows were on the walls as they allowed light in.

Walking towards the throne, I was curious.

“What was happening?”

Arriving at the throne, I wondered if I should sit on it. I mean, there wasn’t anyone here. Looking around and seeing no one, I prepared myself to sit abruptly; however, the gigantic stone doors at the end of the hall opened. A small fairy floated as a ball of water floated beside her. She was looking at the ground at first but raised her head only to see me.

“Hi dear,” I smiled as I waved toward her.

Pphhss

The water beside her dropped as her mouth opened wide.

“Father’s awake, guys, hurry.”

I felt a voice scream into my mind; it must be the communication hub.

BOOM

The side of the hall was smashed open, causing dust to fill the hall. Seeing this, I opened my wings and flapped, the dust being blown outside. Closing my wings, my children spotted me and immediately rushed over, kneeling before me at the bottom of the staircase.

“Eryndor greets Father.”

“Elara greets Father.”

“Thorne greets Father.”

“Aurora greets Father.”

“Aelion greets Father.”

“Liora greets Father.”

“Caelum greets Father.”

“Seraphina greets Father.”

“Orion greets Father.”

“Aria greets Father.”

“Sylvan greets Father.”

“Thalassa greets Father.”

“Riven greets Father.”

“We are delighted by your awakening.”

Now I wasn’t expecting that; I was expecting them to rush and hug me again.

“They grow up so fast.” I thought as I wiped nonexistent tears from my eyes. Normally I would say that this was unnecessary, but I felt proud of what they have done. This probably took a while to practice, and for me to say it was superfluous would put their hard work down the drain. My title was also The Fairy King. I would have to get use to it sooner or later, and for their names, there wasn’t anything to do; they came up with them and I loved them.

“Father, what are your orders?” a voice suddenly said.

Turning towards the voice, I saw it was Eryndor who had asked the question.

“You may rise, my children,” sitting on the throne I knew they created for me.

“What have you done with the place?” This question has been tugging at my mind since I woke up.

“May I answer that, Father?”

"Yes, you may, Liora.”

“Thank you. Well, after our creation, you were tired, as you know. Seeing this, we decided to guard you until you woke up, but after two days we—”

“Two days. I was asleep for two days.”

“Father, it wasn't two days. It was a week.”

“What a week.” I thought I was just exhausted from draining my mana. Maybe it was my soul that was tired since it was needed in the creation of my children.

“Father”

“Oh, anyway, what is this place? Did you guys make this?”

"Yes, we did, Father,” Aria said.

“Through some memories, we received through the bloodline, we saw what was called a castle, a home meant for royalty. Giving you our king and father, we thought you deserved one. Individually, this wouldn’t be possible, especially using other types of stones like marble since we are just at the novice level for our elements, but by pooling our mana together, it became possible. Did we do something wrong?”

“No, I was just wondering.”

“Have any of you left Eldoria?”

“No Father”

“You guys don’t know the reason for your creation, correct?”

“Yes Father”

“You see, I was attacked.”

Crack

Now why did I start with that? Staring at my children, I saw bloodlust oozing from their bodies, breaking the floor beneath them. They weren't that strong, to begin with, but their combined bloodlust seemed to start affecting their surroundings.

“Now, now, you guys need to calm down, or do you want to destroy the castle you built for me even more?" Pointing at the wall they broke.

"Sorry, Father,” they all said in unison as they calmed down.

Chuckling in response, “It's okay. I’ll continue now.”

“I was attacked, but as you see, I survived, so calm down. Anyway, seeing the weakness I had, I decided I needed help as I couldn’t achieve my goal by myself; however, after seeing you guys now, I realized I was stupid. I had created you to achieve my goals and protect me, not think of the free will you were granted, not thinking of the things you would want to do for yourselves, so I apologize to you, my precious children, as the only purpose for your creation was my selfishness,” I said as I bowed, hoping for their forgiveness.

“Father, lift your head.”

“You who have given us life need not worry about such a simple thing. Even without knowing this, we would probably still follow you. Not to mention what else are we going to do with our lives; after all, we need and want your love and guidance; if you want to give it to us.”

Looking up, I saw my children's eyes were filled with water. Tears threatened to fall.

"Come, my children,” opening my arms.

“Come to your father.”

They rushed toward me, hugging me as tears fell down their eyes.

“You need not cry; of course, I would love you unconditionally at that. The first moment I laid my eyes on you, I knew it would be so.” I said hugging them tighter.

Calming down, the children returned to their original places.

“When you leave this Eldoria for the first time, you will feel and see the reason for my goal; only then will you realize why I had created you.”

“I also know you know about the communication hub we have. If one of you is in danger, scream for help, and I will rush towards your position.”

“As for the bloodline inheritance, you all know about that; however, what it didn’t add was information about dragons.”

"Yes, Father, the system said we have it just like dragons, but what are they?”

"Well, my knowledge is limited, maybe false even, but they are of great power, even as a child, and just like us are loved by mana. They are beings who live for justice, peace, and order, but they could also live for destruction, death, and chaos. They are giant scaly beings, with wings and a tail or tails, with horns on their heads. They are very intelligent creatures, so if you ever see one hide, and if you can’t run, and if you can’t run, call me; I will sacrifice my life for your protection if needed, or try to talk with them.”

“No, we–”

“Yes, you cannot be resurrected, like I can; as such, I will do it.”

“We will be leaving Eldoria in the next 5 hours so you may understand what my goal is so you may decide if this is what you want. If you don’t want to help, it's okay; it is your choice, and I’ll respect it. Meeting adjourned”

"Oh, and also I will be visiting an acquaintance or friend, hopefully alone.”

“Yes Father”

Walking towards the broken wall, I stared outside. Opening my wings, I flew to visit Lyra. I had so much to tell her.

15 minutes later

I arrived in front of a big cave located at the halfway point of Verdantia. I was searching for her, and I saw this giant cave that hopefully contained a giant wolf.

“The Great Fupa, this lowly one, requests your presence,” I screamed.

“Shut up, Soren,” I heard as the giant wolf walked out of the cave. Her fur was clean, and her belly seemed bigger, with her ribs barely showing, which was good.

“You seem better; that’s good,” I said with a smile.

“That’s thanks to you.”

“Don’t mention it; may I come in?”

“Of course,” she said as she led me into her home.

Entering, I noticed a large patch of grass in the middle of the cave underneath a hole in the ceiling as light entered through it. She walked towards the bed and lay down. Seeing this, a chair made of wood appeared before me as I sat on it.

“So how have you been?” I asked.

“Good thanks to you. I have all I can eat and drink, as well as the vibrant life that surrounds me.”

“That’s good, and how do you think your babies are doing?”

“I hope they’re good. I mean, I was starving and dehydrated, so I hope they'll survive. So what have we been doing since we went our separate ways?”

“You know, creating my children and sleeping, you know the normal,” I said with a smile.

"Oh, ok, so wait, you what?” She asked with her jaws dropped.

“I have children now; I'm a father now." I chuckled as I saw her reaction.

“Woah, so how do you feel about them?”

“I love them, of course, but after their creation, I think I exhausted my soul, so I was asleep the whole week so we didn't get to bond like I hoped. I can tell they love me as well, but I don't want to feel loved from afar, so I'll spend some time with them now that I can.”

"Oh"

“By the way, I’m going back to the main dimension to help revitalize the deadland in 5 hours; would you like to come and watch the process?”

She looked at me and she began to think.

“Sure, I would love to.”

“Great”

Accepting my proposal, Lyra and I continued to talk, enjoying each other’s company while waiting for the time to return to the main dimension.
