“It’s time”
“Hmmm?” Lyra tilted her head in confusion.
“It's time to leave Eldoria.”
“Oh, the five hours are up.”
"Well, not really, but you have to walk back to my home and meet up with my children.”
“We could run instead.”
I stared into her eyes for a few seconds. “Isn’t that like, not good for your children if you're running for so long?" I wasn’t positive if this would happen, but there was no harm in asking.
“Probably, but with the help of air mana, the run would be smooth and faster.”
“Okay, that seems probable.”
Walking out of the cave with Lyra in tow I turned to her.
"Race, ya,” I said whilst opening my wings. A big smile plastered on my face.
“Soren, I’m pregnant; you did not just ask that,” she said in disbelief.
“I’m so sorry, I totally forgot; sorry,” I said in embarrassment. Damn, how could I be so stupid?
WHOOSH!
I fell from what felt like air rushing past me at great speed. Shocked by this, I looked in front of me only to see Lyra gone. Shock quickly turned into excitement as I began to laugh loudly.
“Oh, I see how it is.”
Standing up, I turned around to see a dust trail. I unfurled my wings as air mana began to surround my body, but mostly towards my wings.
BOOM!
The ground cracked under the pressure around me as I jumped instantly, flying in the air. I reached speeds I had never seen before, as air mana helped me to achieve this. Looking toward the ground, I could finally see the source of the dust trail. Flying down, I arrived beside her. She seemed to be smiling, but that didn’t seem to last for long as she turned her head towards me. Her jaws dropped seeing, and in response, I simply shrugged with a smile before I blasted away from her, literally leaving in my dust. I giggled as she roared with anger.
5 minutes later
I finally arrived before the castle, smiling as I turned to look towards Lyra beside me. We had arrived at the same time, but compared to her, I was the one more exhausted, seeing that she was better at wielding air mana, allowing her consumption of it to be better compared to me, but me being loved by mana helped quite a lot, to be honest.
“Father!” I heard as my children rushed towards me.
I was expecting a hug, but instead they began to surround me as mana threatened to surge towards Lyra. Seeing this, Lyra looked at me. "Soren, what's going on?” she asked with a worried expression. Looking at her in the eye, a creepy grin formed across my face, sending chills all across her body.
“My children, help me. This being threatened me, saying she would hurt me." I said as tears fell from my eyes, with the help of water mana, of course, but they didn’t need to know that.
“WHAT!” they shouted in unison.
"Soren, stop this!” She said, looking at me.
“You dare to call the Fairy King by his name; know your place, beast,” Eryndor said.
“Hmm?”
Oh, he shouldn't have said that. I think I should stop this, but just as I was about to stop them, Lyra interrupted me first.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
“Know your place, beast? Oh, this is going to be good." Lyra said as she instantly arrived before him, bloodlust oozing from her.
“Wha…” Eryndor couldn’t finish his sentence as he was blasted away. Lyra disappeared again as she followed him. The rest of the children were about to follow him, but vines suddenly wrapped around them.
“Just watch”
As if it were a signal, floating spikes made of earth began to shoot toward Lyra, whose figure had finally been located. They flew at an incredible speed as they aimed for her face. Seeing this, she simply stood her ground as the spikes broke apart, impacting what seemed to be a wind of air. Not wasting any time, Lyra rushed towards Eryndor, whose figure seemed bruised from the first attack he received. Trees and vines began to grow in an attempt to block her charge. Lyra, seeing this flimsy attempt to stop her approach, simply broke through with brute force, for it didn’t deserve anymore.
Breaking through an earth spike appeared inches before her eyes, seeing this wind condensed in front of her breaking the spike. Looking at Eryndor, she charged again as her paw arrived in front of him, hitting him to the ground. Eryndor had tried to block her, but she was simply too fast, but this didn’t mean he was done. With determination that seemed unbreakable, an earth spike began to rise from the ground, aiming at her belly.
CRRK!
They cracked as a pressure even I didn’t feel when fighting with Lyra enveloped the area, affecting even us from so far away, and I could only imagine what Eryndor was feeling at this moment.
“Yo… You dare to harm my children!” She said shocking everyone but me while Eryndor just stared at her in fear. His body was bruised from the fight.
“My children, the life I harbor within me, you dare to snuff out.” She said as the pressure became even stronger. She raised her paw.
Eryndor’s POV
“Yo… You dare to harm my children!” I heard this beast, no, being in front of me say. Fear was the only response I could give as her power bore down on me.
“My children, the life I harbor within me, you dare try to snuff out.” She said as the pressure she was producing became stronger. She began to raise her hands as I could see rage fill her being. Was I going to die, I haven’t done anything yet, I haven’t done anything to help Father.
“I’m sorry, Father, for being so useless,” I said, closing my eyes as her claws began moving towards me.
WHOOSH!
"Huh, what's going on?” I said as I opened my eyes.
"Father,” I said in shock. He was in front of me as he blocked the attack from the great wolf. His long platinum hair danced wildly from the pressure of their power clashing.
"Lyra, control yourself,” he said. Wait, Lyra, he knows this being?
“Soren?” She said as her bloodlust and rage calmed down. “I’m sorry”
Father, in response, walked towards her as he began to hug her.
“It’s ok, I understand, and this was kind of my fault." He said with a sad chuckle.
He then turned towards me.
“I’m sorry, my son; this was my fault.”
My siblings who were flying toward us also stopped.
“What do you mean?” I asked
“The wolf called Lyra—named by yours truly—is a friend. When we arrived and you saw me, you thought I was in danger, so you tried to protect me, and seeing this, I kind of instigated a bit. However, when you and Lyra started to battle, I thought this would be a teaching moment for all of you, especially you, Eryndor, as it was for me,” he said.
“Do you remember when I said I got attacked?” He asked as he looked towards me.
I nodded in response.
"Well, Lyra was the one who attacked me,” he said.
‘This wolf called Lyra was the one who attacked Father.' I thought anger was about to explode out of me, but his statement shook me.
“But don’t attack her; she is too powerful even with all of your powers combined.”
‘Stronger than all of us combined’ Chills ran down my spine as I looked at her, and seeing this, she only smiled. A smile that told me to know my place.
"Lyra, stop it,” Father said.
“Okay”
Soren’s POV
I walked towards Eryndor.
“Don’t be disappointed, my son. You are strong, and I thought you did great in your first fight ever since your birth. You just simply fought someone too strong.”
‘I wonder,’ I thought as I called on nature mana. I put my hands on his shoulder as green light shone from it as his bruises began to heal.
“Does everything feel fine now?”
He nodded as he flew to the rest of his siblings as they swarmed him, looking for any damages that may have been missed.
I turned to them. “May this be a lesson to all of you about the dangers that exist beyond Eldoria; I hope you learn from this,” I said with a smile.
Is everyone ready?
"Yes, Father,” they said with determination, and I just realized that they were all wearing white tunics and I was still in my pjs. I sighed.
A portal manifested beside me as I began to walk through.
"Oh, by the way, Lyra’s coming,” I said with a chuckle, not even turning back to see their reactions.
