His eyes grew heavy, heavier than usual, it had been three days since he had last been able to get a proper shuteye, shadows danced in his vision. It seemed that the wraith had no intention of leaving him any hope of leaving the store. The sight of the wraith evoked fear as if being aware of it was enough to make all other creatures afraid. He had been fortunate enough to get a close look at it, normally it was pretty heavily covered by the fog, hiding its wretchedness from the eyes of the prey.
After all, no predator wants to be feared, even if they are, they only seek to hunt either for food or recreation. It was an amalgamation of different body parts, and analyzing it was beyond a person with little understanding of the anatomy of the myriad living and nonliving existences. If it were to be judged like one would a human, it caused one to be deeply disgusted and frightened.
It had three compound eyes, at different corners of its grey face which formed a triangle, with so many units that it was almost impossible to differentiate them from a dark void. There was no aperture to intake food from Sean's initial observation, which made one think about why it had a jaw. Seems like in his three-day observation, he gained a lot of new data that he did not have anyone to share with. As it stared at him through the glass entrance, it ripped open its maw a few times to grin at him, there was no need to mention that it had enough biting force to rip bones, tendons, and muscles alike. And as it closed its mouth all signs of there ever being a mouth disappeared.
He didn't observe anymore mainly because most of it was concealed by the fog, Sean was now completely sure that the fog was sentient and shared a symbiotic relationship with the wraiths, but what it gained from this still eluded him. If not for the wraith wanting to mock him with its toothy grin, he wouldn't have even known that the wraith was more than simply a ghost in the fog. He didn't know how to feel about that. Was he safe now that he knew it was a physical being? He had no false hopes about killing his way back home, that was what the damn thug was counting on probably, hoping that the prey would walk out on its own.
Everytime he fell asleep his body jerked him awake. It shouldn't have been possible to stay awake so long, even if he was scared, normally. Things had long stopped being normal.
He was half inclined to bash his head and knock himself out. Atleast he would be able to fall asleep but whether he would ever wake up was unknown. His nerves were taut from days of being stalked. The store he took shelter in was a small one, he could either face it or look away from it. After much thought, he decided that it would be better to look at it rather than face away from it. It hadn't been a great decision as he had been facing the wraith, knowing that the thing only had to push the door to enter the store.

He didn't dare to tell others where he was, he had recieved several calls and messages during the first two days.
' It's better if they think that I'm dead. I don't think I'll last long like this anyway. I don't wanna die. Why did I have to do things like this. If only I hadn't rushed to my doom. Maybe we could have thought of a better plan together.'
Sean felt a lot of complex emotions. Hope wasn't one of them, several times in the past few weeks he had hoped that everything would return to normal. Several times he had dreamed of it, waking up from those dreams was the thing he dreaded. But soon he realised that hoping for good times didn't mean that all his problems would go away. It hurt him more when he hoped.
Three more days passed by. Days and night felt blurry, he drifted in and out of unconciousness. All he saw were nightmares whether he was awake or asleep. He looked like a fresh corpse but he still alive somehow. That's why it took him a while to decide if what he heard was real or not.
A muffled announcement rang in his ears. He looked up a little to see if he was hallucinating. That's when the announcement rang again. He believed that it was real or atleast he hoped that it was. He shakily got up from the place he hadn't moved from for the past two days.
The voice of an old man followed as the announcement began for the third time.

Sean felt his eyes getting wetter as he laughed. His happiness grew further when he saw the wraith leave. He made sure to wait a minute to make sure that it had truly left. He anxiously picked up the bag of supplies and ran for his life.
