I realised that I hadn't properly described characters which somewhat ruined the immersion of the readers. I have been putting it off for some time now. So, rather than going back and redoing those chapters now, I'll just add this chapter to briefly describe the characters in order of introduction.

Ralph

A young adult struggling with his emotional instability. Average height and stature with black hair and brown eyes. Only known survivor of his small town.

Current status: trying to help his new friends.

Sherman

Ralph's friend. Current status: Erased

Shadowman

A dark amalgam of shadow and mana.

Known weakness: Fire and blunt force

Giant Skeleton of an unknown creature

Female nurse.

Blond-haired woman in her late 20s.

No known weaknesses. Tendency to get erased. Current status: erased

Shadow lurker.

Slightly intelligent and highly wicked evolution of the simple shadowman. Lurks out of sight until the target is unable to resist, preferably tired.

The big one.

Might be somewhere along the evolution line for a shadowman

Unknown size and appearance. No known weaknesses.

Ben

An army veteran in his late 40s, taller than 6 feet, with black hair carrying a few streaks of white and a well-maintained beard. Experienced with several melee and ranged weapons.

Jeremy

A soldier in his mid-20s, short cut dark brown hair, and black eyes, with messy stubble for facial hair. Average height.

One of the few soldiers that survived and the only one remaining in the military base. Taught by Ben.

Sean

A 17-year-old teenager who lives in an apartment complex. Has blue dyed hair, 5'6 height.

Current status: Tired and running for his life.

Stacy

A 19-year-old teenager. Sean's friend and the current leader of the apartment complex.

6'1, black-haired, black eyes. Athletic.

Current status: unknown
