story of humanity

prologue

Humanity no matter the era will advance one way or another, the difference is simply the direction humanity advances. In the far future humanity advances into a space faring civilization , however due to humanity’s ambition they quicking spread their way throughout the galaxy. One way or another systems fell one by one before the might of humanity, throughout thousands of millions of years humanity quickly rose through the ranks to become a civilization that first rival them completely outclass other empires and federations.

But as quickly as they rose, they fell just as quickly.

Out of the expectation of other other space faring civilizations suddenly all human settlement suddenly became empty, void of any human.

The sudden disappearance of humanity created a wave of panics across the community of the universe.

The truth however is something more bizarre, the reason for humanity's disappearance is simply because of a change in their ideals. Instead of being a conqueror they felt that it is better to be the neutral observer that only intervene when it is absolutely necessary.

That isn’t to say that they’re completely cut off from the galactics community, they still interact with them through puppets state that they had set up before their decline.

Through these puppet states they manage to keep up and even surpass other empires in some parts of technology.

Eons later humanity finally found its purpose in the universe, humanity found an extra universal civilization setting up a battle ready outpost. Humanity tried to warn the galactic community about the incoming threat, however the galaxys was already stuck in their own wars against each other. The allies of humanity eons ago are already gone, technology regresses so far that even if the warring faction united it still wont make a different.

Through countless sacrifices from the galactic community finally pushed the invading forces back to their home dimension.

With the war humanity finally all gained a common goal, to explore the universe beyond and to understand everything. What’s more exciting is that some other rarer universe operates under a completely different set of reality, thus forcing humanity to start from scratch for their technology.

In the end only around a billion humans were left behind in their home universe, with the rest already left for other dimensions.  One of these humans was a boy, a boy who was left in charge of a ship with nothing to do.

For eons the boy wanders endless through the universe, staring endlessly at the stars in the distance.  Emotion has long left him, there is nothing new to do, nothing to discover, nothing to be excited for.

The boy hasn't talked to any humans for millions of years, the only companions he has is his personal Ai that has been with him since he was born. He tried reading, cooking every activity the boy can think of, yet none can fill the empty feeling in his heart.

Soon with nothing interesting to do the boy started to zone out, days turn to years, years turn into century. All until something finally gained his attention.

[Master, something happens that requires your attention.] the monotone voice of the ship navigational AI sounded throughout the ship.

Slowly the glassy wide eyes closed for a few seconds and reopened and stood up, and started to look around the pristine white room of the ship.

“Status report.” automatically speaked out of the boy, as he moved toward the ship.

Instead of teleporting to the bridge he decided to walk to the bridge, for some reason the act of walking like the ancient humans somehow appealed to him.

[Master, there is something blocking the route.] announce the AI the moment the boy steps into the bridge.

“What?” asked the boy while feeling something foreign yet familiar, is this feeling curiosity? Usually when faced with an obstacle the ship will just nagvative out of the way.

The boy looked up at the large screen of the bridge to see, ...nothing?

“There’s nothing?”asked the confused boy.

[Correct, there is nothing ahead. The sensor senses absolutely nothing ahead, not even cosmic background radiation. Thus concluding that there is a high possibility of something being ahead. ]

“So what you're saying is that there is something there, because nothing is there?”

[Correct.]

“Strange.”
